President of the Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches (DAEC) and pastor of the People’s Pentecostal Family Church (PPFC) located in Goodwill, Bishop Michael “Bill” Daniel, is dead.
Daniel died early Friday after losing a battle with cancer.
Daniel was awarded a Meritorious Service Award and gained national attention when as leader of DAEC, he vehemently opposed gay cruise ships coming to Dominica.
He started his ministry at the very early age of 14.
He served in many churches across Dominica and was ordained pastor in 1994.
Regionally he served in various roles including presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies Dominica District, member of the General Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies, general Secretary of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies Dominica District, among others.
He also served as a marriage counselor and spiritual director.
Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with Pastor Bill’s family and the People’s Church. The stones of prayer, faithfulness, perseverance, love, humility, and so much more that he has
Laid down for us should now be used to make us stronger and build the kingdom of God. Last week Sunday we stayed home from our local church and enjoyed the service of the ppfc in Roseau. This service was a direct reflection of the stones Pastor Bill has Laid. Our last encounters with him are memorable. He tried his best to get some men to do what God would do and He died and they never listened. We are glad that he displayed such great care for his people. He did not only preach it, but lived it. Our church here stood with you and our hearts are broken. May the work of the Lord continue and my hope is that we all echo what Pastor Bill preached. The church service was a good indication that Pastor Bill left capable people to carry on with the mission. We applaud you guys! Love!
Our deepest sympathy to Sister Raphina, Shana and Tracy Daniel.
Its a very sad and tought moment that Pastor Bill has “slept” away peacefully.
His soul is in peace.
He is at rest.
Across the Bridge there is no more Sorrow.
Across the Bridge there is no more Pain
Jesus called him home.
His legacy will go on.
All of our love and comfort to you all.
Not forgetting his faithful secretary, Jacky.

Dominican abroad
It is sad that Pastor Bill Daniels departed our shores to heavenly place of peace and tranquilly before he was able to see the political CHANGE take place in Dominica.
He prayed hard and long and wished the Dominican people well that they should be well governed and that corrupt governments the world over including Dominica should be stamped out that God`s people be respected and not subjected to pain and begging and selling of their mind, soul and bodies for pennies and favours ( sexual, physical, mental).
Jesus did cry out: “suffer the little children no more”, it is sad in Dominica and the world were corrupt practices do take place and is the order of the day, corrupt leaders continue the abuse with liberty and fanfare through their acolytes in the pews, the alters, places of worship, houses of government services and many homes. Our government have failed to protect our children, young boys and young girls.
In his many prayers, at church, at Independence Day Celebrations, he spoke, he prayed and for some he became just a figure head at a ceremonial function but his message was not understood, practiced nor listened to.
Dominica has lost a good Godly Christian man who believed in God, Prayed, loved his country and wanted to see his people elevated to a level of decency in government, from our leaders in authority , at the churches and in society because in absence of this, our children, as he understood it and mentioned in his many prayers, would inherit the properties of wrong doings from some political leaders, some government leaders, some religious leaders and some community leaders in our communities and our country will suffer, morally and spiritually.
God Bless you sir,. May you rest in peace

My Condolences to the Family and the church he went to be with the Lord. Tears can never stain the streets of the City.
1
If I could count all the tear drops that have fallen
it would seem like an ocean to me
and if my heart were a window you could look through
oh the pains and grief you would see
But tears will never stain the streets of the city
there’s no reef of death on my mansion door
tear droops aren’t welcome beyond the gates of glory
cause the heart will never brake any more
2
I have questioned the lost of a loved one
the grave seems so silent and cold
but we will meet again where death has no victory
in a land where we’ll never grow old
3
I have never met one man without sorrow
I have never seen eyes with no pain
but there’s a land where grief is a total stranger
and songs of joy are the only song we’ll sing
Tears will never stain the streets of the city
there’s no reef of death on my mansion door
tear drops aren’t welcome beyond the gates of glory
cause the heard will never brake any more
that’s my song to you the family and congregation may he rest in peace.
It is very sad that Dominica has lost such an important man of God, who was a praying giant, an example to many people, and a person of integrity. Let me also thank the PM and his cabinet for moving quickly on their decision to give him an official funeral. I do hope Bishop Skerrit will be allowed to preach the funeral though I know some big stalwarts of PAWI will be present and might want to preach.
I know many of the many prayers of Bishop Daniel during independence, and in his prayer closet have not all been answered as yet but eventually they will be answered. He sincerely prayed for justice to prevail in Dominica and wish he had seen the GON Christmas morning saga was solved, since it was done on the day we were celebrating the birth of our Lord. He also prayed earnestly that the church would take back her place in the country and not get involved in the politics of hate, corruption and remain silent when evil was prevailing. He also prayed that the spirit church would rise in the defense of the bible and would condemn anyone that compares corrupt and ungodly politicians to Jesus.as a church would no longer refer to anyone as Jesus. Yes, we all in Dominica will miss you but we know you are present with the Lord. May your soul rest in peace my brother because your exemplary life touched us all.
My family join me in extending sincere condolences to the family of the late Pastor Bill Daniel as well as the members of the Peple’s Pentecostal Church. May His Soul Rest In Peace. Condolences to his Family and Friends.
Hang in there’ he will be missed.
May these words encourage Raphina and entire family:
“For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:1–8).
It is indeed sad for you to have gone home before us but we know your journey is over and you have won. God bless as we will meet you there my brother.

“Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?” (2 Samuel 3:38)
I was saddened this morning to learn from DNO of Bishop Michael Daniel’s passing. Although I had not met Bishop Daniel I am well aware of his tremendous contribution to the work of God in Dominica and throughout the West Indies. He was a true shepherd and a preacher of righteousness always abounding in the work of the Lord who served his generation well by the will of God.
“And when the chief shepherd shall appear, (he) shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.” (1 Peter 5:4)
My condolences go out to his wife Rephina, their family, and the entire congregation of People’s Pentecostal Family Church.
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist based in Canada.
One of God’s angel has gone home. For sure he will be missed by many who loved him dearly. He has taught us what humility , love, fellowship, and many other special characteristics he possessed as a legacy we should covet. My honest call to us all Dominicans especially the evangelicals is to do what he would have or want us to do and be. Let us all live a life pleasing to God loving and forgiving one another, getting rid of all the hurts and grudges we hold against each other. He lived in peace and left in peace. He is a winner for all what God does is for His glory, All is well once God is in it. He had great faith and love for God and a loving and dependable family God will surely take care of. R I P BISHOP.

Pastor Bill, you are in a better place, you have served with distinction, as you nurtured so many lives in Dominica. You were indeed an apostle, not like those who called themselves and made shipwreck of the faith. The angels have already received you, may the Lord strengthen Sister Daniel and the rest of her family. People’s church, be strong, hold your forces together and remain united. God bless everyone!!!!
Sad sad very true spiritual leader and an awesome man of God.Sis raphina hold on strong God is with you indeed you r a blessing to so many whom contact with you.Sad day for me teary eye but what is beautiful is that he died in the Lord he has made his election sure prepared himdelf to meet the lord something most of us believers don’t do .The time id near God is no respector of persons so lets put aside our ugly differences and wait for when the good Lord calls us home. The bible says if my people who r called by my name will humble themselves and turn from thier wicked ways he will heal our land christians wake up and start serving God whole heartedlt like our late bishop did a man who was after Gods own heart a God chaser that’s what we ought tobecone God chasers not vanity and worldly pleasures chasers but more so true men snd wonen of God .Have a good day my sad sad our bishop has Gone but God is saying be of good coutaged for he is with ne .
Is this a proper heading? this should be left for when a crime has happened and someone died, heading could have said the pastor has passed on cause people knew he was in a grave state for a while now to me this is high disrespect. On a brighter note I would like to give my sympathy to the family and friends on his move to the better land where he goes to meet his maker and continue his work for the lord.
That’s so true Real Possie! This man of God deserves a little more respect for the great and hard work that he has done over the years.
I believe DON ADMIN should take note and make necessary changes.
And this is why you are not the one chosen to write the article
Disrespect for saying passed away? Oh my!
There is nothing wrong in DNO posting “passed away.” In bygone years, we would say the person died. We would also say, he/she passed away. Today, some people changed it to passed on. You know “passed away and passed on” are not in the Bible. They are terms which we used and changed throughout the years. Therefore, we can say either one, died, passed away or passed on.
You admonished DNO for stating “passed away” and even called DNO disrespectful. This is only your viewpoint. He did pass away – from this earth. The same manner, he died – his body. God knows where his soul is in eternity and the soul knows where in eternity it is. No one on earth can say where the soul is. Purgatory is a place of cleansing/purification prior to entering the Holy and Pure Throne of God.
For further information, God created Heaven, Hell and Purgatory. Is there anyone on this earth who could say that they are holy and perfect enough to enter into God’s eternal glory? Some of you once believed it exists no longer believe because you have renounced your Catholic faith and joined another religion. Others, as agnostics and atheists never believed it but it does exist until the end of time. The Catholic Church did not create it. God created it. No mere words can make non believing it null and void. When souls die they will find out that it exists. Many souls will go there. We should be thankful that God created it otherwise how many souls would make it to Heaven?
We have the promise of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, consider what He stated, “Only those who obey His Father’s Will, will enter His Kingdom.” Therefore, there are conditions for obtaining eternal salvation, not only by calling him Lord, Lord. What we perceive about people and are sure of them, God knows better. He sees the heart, knows the heart and judges the heart. No mortal is capable of doing that and be certain about what they think and state when a person dies.
Some years ago, The Mother of God, the Ever Blessed Virgin Mary said to a visionary which is a message for us all: “Today, few souls go to Heaven (immediately at death). The second number goes to Purgatory and the rest to Hell.
I will not elaborate on this but how I would like to write a book on Purgatory of all and the reason why God created it and why souls that God may have saved who claimed to be believers, some preaching His Word and praying may have gone there to be purified for as long as it takes to be purified. This is the Justice of God who is impartial. We know what St. Paul said about praying. If you are well-versed in Holy Scripture you should know. However, it is, “We do not know how to pray”.
Our Lord said: Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect. If we think we are serving Our Lord Jesus Christ to the fullest, consider: The Ten Commandments of God, The Beatitudes among other teachings of Our Lord Jesus Chris and The Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy given to us and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Our Lord said to his disciples: “I have much to tell you but you will not be able to contain it. When I go I will send My Advocate who will tell you more.” Catholic Christians are fully aware of that. I could state more.
Whatever else you want to know is in the Holy Bible. You can Google the word “Purgatory” and you will find a lot of information about it and Verses of Holy Scripture. Furthermore, it has been in the dictionary for umpteen years. It is also in the Thesaurus, the computer Research and on other sites. Therefore, this place of atonement very well exists, thanks to our loving, compassionate, merciful and forgiving God.
so sad to hear!! R.I.P condolence greeting to the family
The Lord has given and the Lord has taken; blessed be the name of the Lord. Bro Daniel knows that to be absent from this life is to be present with the Lord. He now breathes the fresh air of God’s presence. He has fought a good fight and has finished his course. He is now in a position that is the ultimate destiny of the child of God.
We blessed the family and the christian community who now sorrow at his physical departure. We will all miss the Bishop. On the other hand we all rejoice since he was ready to meet his Lord.
Thank you Lord for this life that you allowed to impact us in many positive ways.
A true fisher of men – May his soul rest in peace. My condolences go to his family.
Thank you very much for your counsel. May you rest in perfect peace Pastor Bill Daniel. My condolences to the family.
Very very sad news….RIP pastor Daniel. Poeple of the congregation and pastor Griffin Daniel and family stay strong. He was a powerful man of God and will be in a better place….
