Charles Jong joins Mia Mottley’s team in Barbados

Jong is now part of Mia Mottley’s team

Charles Jong, who for the past few years, has been working as a communication consultant for the government has been appointed as communication boss of the Mia Mottley government in Barbados.

Mottley recently led the Barbados Labour Party to a landslide victory in the general election in that country.

According to the Barbados Government Information Service (BGIS) Jong will accompany Mottley to her first CARICOM meeting as Prime Minister in his role as Director of Communications Designate. That meeting gets underway on Wednesday, July 4 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Jamaica.

According to Jong’s LinkedIn profile, he currently works as Communications Consultant for the Government of Dominica.

Stranger in the House

Jong first gained national attention in March 2014 when then MP for Marigot, Edison James, clashed with House Speaker, Alix Boyd-Knight when he (Jong) was seen manning a camera in parliament.

“There is a stranger in the house, madam speaker, and I ask that the stranger be asked to withdraw,” James told the proceedings. “This stranger is manning the camera up there. I understand his name is Charlie Jong.”

Later Boyd-Knights ruled that James’ request could not be entertained since Jong was not a stranger but was attached to the Government Information Service (GIS).

When James asked for more information Boyd-Knights said her ruling was final.

Later in March 2014, documents surfaced which showed that the government of Dominica was paying $96,000 for a one-year contract to Jong for ‘Public Relations and Information Management Services.’

The contract ran from November 1, 2013 to October 31, 2014.

The documents put to rest the question of who was actually paying Jong and who he was working for.

At the end of March 2014, the United Workers Party (UWP) called on the government to terminate the contract and threatened legal action if it was not done.

According to the UWP Jong’s appointment as an “overtly political assignment” which should be paid by the Dominica Labor Party “and not be cleverly passed on to the State’s treasury under false pretenses.”

Is this appointment was what was achieved by Mr. Skerrit when he met Mia Mottley a few days after her electoral victory?

Motley, you are welcome to him. Good luck! Infact, we have a few more very ‘bright sparks’ here in Dominica you are welcome to: Colin Piper, Robert Tonge, Police Chief Carbon, Reginald Austrie, Madame Baron, Madame Paul, infact you can have the entire cabinet inclusive of its leader. Word of advise though, keep the cookie jars well under lock and key.

The saddest things is that if you would ask the random unemployed
youth who this man is, they would probably think he was from a kung fu movie. smh
Our government employed this mercenary for one year @$96,000 now it’s been almost five years. Do the maths to see how many homes could have been built with his salary. What has Dominica benefited? Nothing.

Half million dollars to create division and mischief for a political party to maintain a stranglehold on power. Complete wastage of public funds. ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

Who is the Senior Political advisor to the Skerritt DLP Gov’t. ? Hartley Henry of Barbados boasts of that position. Hartley Henry knows Mia motley well.

Charlie Jong is a consultant on Communications to the Skerritt DLP Gov’t. he is DA’s communication boss and doing all kinds of bidding, secret and overt, to ensure Skerritt remains in” POwer.”

Therein lies the NETWORK. Hartley Henry -Skerritt – Charlie Jong – Mia Motley. Charlie Jong is not bajan. There are more than enough qualified Bajans to be the boss of communication in Mia Motley’s Gov’t. But no. She prefers to work with Charlie, a non Bajan. Surprised? That’s the Caribbean and the kind of politics.

It would be interesting to find out whether Mia Motley also knows, Leroy Parris of Barbados, the former CEO of CLICO. Remember the CLICO fiasco, where Dominicans, DSS, Credit Unions, NBD and individuals lost their investments? About $90 MILLION were embezzled. Will the new Gov’t deal with the…

No doubt, Charlie Jong is a propagandist. He works for the biggest bidder as his loyalty is to only money. He is borrowed by some regional political parties to disseminate their political mischief to bend the minds of the unsuspecting, the gullible and the unlettered. He should be shunned.

As far as I understand it mr. Jong will also continue to provide his services to the government of Roosevelt Skerrit. I must presume this will be on a consultancy basis. I read the hand of Hartly Henry in this.

Charlie Jong, communication consultant, being paid, by the Skerritt DLP Gov’t, hefty salary to do what? To defend, protect, give support to the Cabal in all their evil deeds and BAD governance.

Are the citizens better informed about matters that affect them in their country? What a job to defend, protect, give support to Skerritt, by all means possible. Those Dominicans, who work hard, like the farmers of Salisbury, Morne prosper, St. Joseph, Marigot, Wesley, GrandBay and others all over Dominica are being short-changed, even after hurricane Maria. Charlie Jong salary is much more than what those farmers could ever bring home, to take care of their families. WICKEDNESS.

Now he will be Communications boss in Barbados? Do you see the network, the links? Many people operating in this NEW COLONIAL SYSTEM will continue to make life difficult for Caribbean people. It is all about “POWER,” MONEY, dictatorial agendas, and PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE to FOOL Citizens.
