In light of the season of giving and sharing, the Dominica Association of Administrative Professionals (DAAP) extended good cheer to wheel-chair bound, Jerry Dublin of Bath Road, Roseau.
On Monday, December 23rd 2013, a Christmas Hamper was handed over to Jerry by Vice President/PRO – Junella Trotman and some members of the association. This hamper was made possible through the contribution of members of the Association. The membership of DAAP hopes that the items given would go a long way in meeting some of his basic needs.
DAAP is a registered non-profit organization and has been in existence for the last ten years and is governed by a Board of Directors comprising of eight (8) executive members. The aim of the Association is to educate and upgrade Office Professionals on the island of Dominica; to provide an organization for Secretaries/Administrative
Professionals; and, to promote the interest of all persons engaged in the practice of the administrative profession. DAAP’s goals are achieved through meetings, workshops, educational drives, training sessions among other activities.
Lately, DAAP has been trying to raise awareness of both the Association and the Administrative profession; therefore, this presentation served a two-fold purpose. First, to extend good cheer; and secondly to raise the public’s awareness of our association. DAAP also hopes to promote and encourage interest in the field by young people especially High School/College students who may be interested in choosing the profession as a career, as well as those who desire to be Administrative Professionals; and, those who are currently serving in the profession. Consequently, the Association is extending an invitation to all those interested to attend its next monthly meeting carded for January 15th 2014 from 5:00 pm at the Youth Centre on High Street, Roseau.
I am moved by the kindness shown to the disabled in Dominica. Dominica has come a long way. Dominicans are now aware of the plight of the disabled. In Canada (and probably the US) they are called, the physically challenged.
The Golden Rule: The Lord said, “…In the least of these (helping them), this is how you please Me most.”
A Happy New Year to all.
God bless you for your effort and generosity. I am keeping you in mind for the following Christmas, God willing.
