Director of Alliance Français, Stanislas Reiner has announced that his term has come to an end.
He announced on Friday that the day was his last.
“It is my last day today as the Director of Alliance Français, so I really want to say a warm ‘thank you’ to all the Dominicans who welcomed me, and greet me a lot as a brother… I’m really grateful for that. Thank you. Merci beaucoup,” he said.
Reiner reflected on his time and his mission in Dominica, saying that the experience was a great one and that he was welcomed by the Dominican people.
“I arrived two years ago in Dominica and rose to be the Director of the Alliance Français,” he remarked. “It was a great experience, I would say. A great, human experience. I did meet a lot of nice people. The focus was to create synergy and improvement in terms of teaching French as a foreign language in Dominica, creating changes. I was really appreciative for the help of people, the way they treated me, the way they acknowledged me as a French person, but as belonging to Dominica as well.”
He stated that he hopes for increased membership and support for the Alliance and its activities.
“I hope some people will join the Alliance. We need people here in Dominica to give us some support… give us time, be a part of our committee—because you can be a member of the Alliance Français, you know,” he explained. “It’s a fee of EC$50 for the entire year, and you contribute by any means, you know. You help us to organize some activities, and so on. That’s what we need.”
Minister of Education and Human Resource Development, Petter Saint Jean wished Reiner well while encouraging him to make Dominica his “second home.”
“As you leave, let me say to you, Godspeed, and I wish you every success in future endeavors, and remember that whatever happens, you have a home in Dominica,” he stated.
If I knew he was that cute, I would have registered for a course at Alliance, man
Au revoir Mr. Reiner. Bon Voyage.
You are one of us…god bless your new endeavours.
We will miss you!
Au revour!
