An elderly woman residing in Tarreau has been reported missing.

She is Veronica Daniel, 86, whose relatives told DNO that she disappeared on Tuesday morning (November 1) and has not been seen since.

A relative told DNO that Daniel was living with a daughter, who went to bed around midnight on Tuesday. She woke up around 5:00 am to realize her mother was not in her bed. She conducted a search through the entire house but the elderly woman was not found.

An alarm was raised and relatives immediately began searching for Daniel.

Relatives were told that a person fitting Daniel’s description was seen in  Copthall and a search was launched in the area but that proved futile.

A the time of her disappearance, Daniel was wearing a black and white dress.

A report has been made to the police and relatives are desperately trying to locate her.

Many elderly persons have been reported missing in Dominica in recent times.

On October 4, 81-year old Ettiene Charles , also known as “Charlo,” from the Kalinago Territory, left his home for the Kalinago Council Office and has not been seen since.

On Saturday, October 23, 79-year-old Lawrence Joseph, from Vieille Case, disappeared from Bath Estate without a trace.

Any one with information about the missing persons are asked to call the Criminal Investigations Department at telephone numbers 266 5164, 266 5165 and 266 5119 or Crime stoppers Dominica at telephone number 1-800-8477.

Too many of our elders go missing now, what is happening. One wants to believe they must be human sacrifices going on on our island. Where can they go everybody knows everybody in their area. It looks like no one cares as before where we looked out for each other. Strange things happening in Dominica now, too many strange sudden deaths even of young able people. Soon it will be our children. We need to care and look out for each other.

Why is it that the authorities are not making any statements in regards to these missing persons. Commissioner Carbon you are quick to come on the air to tell citizens that you will not stand for persons calling the radio inciting violence, however I have yet to hear you tell citizens, especially the elderly, to be cautious when leaving their homes. Say Something! Let the public know that you are doing something! Where is the Minister for National Security??? You are not doing your jobs!

While doing chores, in the kitchen washing dishes and cooking, at quiet times as these, in a pensive manner and with the US Catholic Network on, I get ideas. It happens all the time. Hope they are inspiration. :)
Was she able to walk well by herself?
What was her mental capacity like?
I hope in investigating, the police will ask:
Was the door unlocked? At that time was it locked “with the key” and the key placed in a secure place where she would not be able to find it to unlock the door? Was the key left in the lock?
    Was the door tampered with?
When the family went to bed, was she in her room or was she up sitting in the living room, etc.?
The above should determine if she opened the door and walked out by herself or not.

The poor lady. I thought later, when the daughter awoke did she immediately realize her mother was missing?
My heart goes out to the missing people and their relatives. It is stressful for them not knowing what happened to their loved ones, where they are.and hoping they are not suffering.
It is hard to think that the elderly would be ill-treated by a wicked person.
I pray for her safe return.
At such times as this, God is calling us to love and good works, especially those who are not and do nothing to help others.
I like to state, God knows what happened to the lady and where she is. If only we knew.

Try to keep your elderly safe at all times.
Dominican folks, our country is not as safe as it was in those days when we would leave doors unlocked, windows opened and went to bed. Know that the enemy is restless and never sleeps.
If you have an elderly family in the home, one who may be mentally impaired, take precaution to keep the doors locked at all times. Make your windows also secured.
If an elderly of all say he/she is going out, find out where to. If it is only for a walk, you may need to accompany him/her. Even though you may be busy, in no way should you neglect him/her.. They are your wards, to protect. Never be too busy for them so that you will have no regret. Remember, they took care of you when you were babies and youths. Do likewise for them at their stage.
I am a genuinely concerned person, not only in words, taught well by my disciplined, religious parents. With the help of God, anything I can do to help, be it from afar, also in prayers.

This is disheartening. Remember the man from Pointe Michel who also disappeared at the time of the bi-election. As far as we know he was not found.
If it is evil works, it will appear to flourish for now but not forever.
There is a God above who knows, sees and hears all things. He will repay everyone according to their deeds.
Tell the Evil One to be gone from our midst.
Keep the Holy Spirit of God in your heart, mind, home and surroundings.
Making the Sign of the Cross will ward off the enemy and his evil acts.
Blessing your home, your family and yourselves with Holy Water will help and grant peace.
Call on the Holy Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ often.
Catholics, you know the I Believe in God, the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed.
Never fail to also pray the Holy Rosary and call on the Holy Name of the Ever Blessed Virgin Mary. God gave Her to us as our Intercessor and also Protector.
The enemy fears her most. We also have many Heavenly protectors, the Saints.

I am caring for the elderly suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer. It is a very hard job because these people feel they are suppose to be independent. Though they may be sick in one way they can still be very intelligent and have tricks. They will be aware you are monitoring them as nature calls and you enter the bathroom they are into some mischief. while you are watching them they are watching you. The biggest problem i have found is the denial of children responsible for the elderly. The lack of knowledge and acceptability of the disease in our family.

What is happening in Dominica? Every week or every other week someone is either missing or dead. Let’s keep on praying for Dominica.

    • Just Passing Through
      November 5, 2016

Dave like you I worry about the deaths and missing in Dominica we hear so much about, then I stop to think that everyday somewhere, someone dies. Everyday, someone goes missing somewhere. We believe nothing bad or unsettling should happen in Dominica but that thought is not reality.

Yes, let us keep praying but as we pray, tell the Lord above “Thy Will will be done.” It is shocking to visualize but our loved ones will die and so will all of us someday.

Therefore nothing unusual is happening in Dominica except awareness. People go missing for a number of reasons, When I was younger people used to die everyday, but if that person was not a friend or relative or from the same Village or Town, chances are we would not hear about it.

Today we have the internet, that is what has changed instant reporting and it hurts when we hear it and pray for the safety of all the missing and sympathize with the families of the Dead. May their soul rest in peace.

there is a serial killer in dominica

    • November 7, 2016

      A serial killer :?:

I would be disappointed in the police if they are not at least taking this possibility into consideration.

They would first do a comparative study of all the ”missing” cases and look for a common denominator.

Many people on the island could do the same thing.

It is vital to move on this. Serial criminals are addicted to their crime. They strike again and again. The violence usually escalates getting worse each time.

If these cases involve kidnapping they may include torture and end in death. However the victims are sometimes held a long time.

There should be reports from the police. The public ought to know what the police are going.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

This is an elderly woman I am sure that she wears some sort of nightwear to sleep. She was in bed before the daughter when to bed at midnight. The daughter woke up at 5: 00 am and the elderly woman was not in bed or anywhere in the house. She later said that at the time of disappearance she was wearing a black and white dress. The last time the daughter saw her she was in her night wear. Old people do not sleep in dresses or home clothes like young people.

Dominica is being hit by something from the other side.

Remember the manifestations of evil in the schools a few years ago? It happened on one or two other islands at the same time.

This will make many of you shudder. But what is needed are Spirit filled pastors who will lead their congregations in an advance of spiritual warfare against this “thing” until it flees your island.

Whoever is doing these evil acts, can never touch their souls.
God created them. Their souls are from God and will return to God for judgment. Absolutely no human can touch their souls. They can touch their body, force them to do wrong, do something to them and interfere with their blood but not their souls.

    • Me
      November 4, 2016

Those who make deals with the devil are selling THEIR OWN SOULS. They are not selling other’s souls, they are selling their souls just to gain the world. Voodoo, obeah, lougawou, soukouyant, lajables. Too many of these in Dominica which is one of the reasons we are experiencing so many natural disasters. Stop making deals with the devil making your mother, father ,sister , brother, cousin , friend or neighbor disappear in order to get money to buy the world. The country has turned upside down…………

      • November 7, 2016

Witchcraft is forbidden in the Bible.

There are different forms of witchcraft. Voodoo and obeah are popular expressions of witchcraft in the Caribbean but there are others. They draw their power from the devil who wants to be worshipped even if people don’t realize they are doing so. The power is sometimes attributed to the spirits of their ancestors or dead animals but this is not so.

This kind of practice attracts immorality, and crime because it involves demons. It brings natural disasters. It causes what uninformed people call ”bad luck” because it moves people out from under God’s protection.

Some politicians have suggested that voodoo, or obeah should be legally registered as a recognized ”religion”. This shows how destitute and void of God’s truth certain government leaders are. Either they don’t think their country has enough problems or they have no understanding of the harm caused by trafficking with devil.

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

    • November 5, 2016

Obviously this is an attack of Satan.

I am not qualified  to say how he is doing it. It would include demons which are the devil’s angels. It likely involves human beings who have not received Christ as their Savior and are deep enough in sin to be under his control. The sins they commit and their lifestyles leave them open to evil.

People are slow to admit these realities. :( But there are specific practices that attract powerful dark forces to a locality and trigger an attack of evil. This can happen to a rural area, village, town, or city. 8-O Sometimes the attack will be concentrated in a house so we get things like ”haunted” houses which by the way have nothing to do with the spirits of the dead. I will refrain from naming particular sins  because it would not help to set off a fire storm.

What would help is soul searching and genuine repentance in the light of the Word of God.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

There are adults drawn to children.

There are men attracted to men and women to women.

There are men and women with animals.

So it is likely there are people who in their twisted perversions are focused on the elderly although this is a new one to me.

If this is such a case it is taking on the appearance of a serial criminal. These are repeat offenders. They crave the excitement of being more daring each time. The violence has a tendency to escalate. They sometimes move from one part of the country to another, and are often working in the locality where they strike.

It would be wise (1) to tell our seniors not to let strangers into their homes, (2) not to go out alone after dark, (3) if they are out walking they should not accept a ride from a stranger, (4)

Know where they are and who they are with.

Don’t allow them to go places alone or wonder off.

School teachers should take a few minutes to talk to their classes and give them some safety trips. It could be called ”Stranger proofing”.

        Suggested tips (rules).

        (a) Don’t talk to strangers.

        (b) Don’t get into a car – or go into a house – with a stranger.

        (c) Don’t go on for a walk by yourself in the bushes – a park – or any place you are not familiar with.

        (d) If you must walk to or from school when ever possible walk with a friend or in a group. Stay together when you can.

        (e) Tell your teacher or parents if anybody bothers you.

        (f) If you are taking a bus to or from school get off at the school or your home. Don’t let anybody talk you into getting off at a different stop with them, or going any place with them after school without your parent’s permission.

        Sincerely,…
