In order to help in the healing process in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Erika, a special day of prayer will be observed on Sunday 27 September, 2015 (World Rivers Day).

Among those missing and feared dead is Clifford Lewis, also known as ‘Fouben,’ the National Tennis Coach of Dominica and his brother Billie Lewis. They were both reportedly carried away by the River on 27 August, in Paradise Village, Bath Estate.

The day’s activities will begin at 9:00 am with a Church service at the St Alphonsus Church, in Goodwill.

This will be followed by a procession led by the Mahaut and St Alphonsus Scout troops, to the Roseau Market, and where those present will have the opportunity to share their Stories of their experiences of Tropical Storm Erika.

Lewis will be memorialized and honored at the event.

Below is some brief information on Lewis.

Clifton “Fouben” Lewis played Table Tennis for the last 48 years. He was a member of the Dominica Table Tennis Association (DTTA) and has coached countless players over the years. As a player, he has represented Dominica at the OECS and Caribbean levels and most recently participated in the 57th Caribbean Championships in Martinique from July 1-9, where he was not only a player but was appointed the National Coach, a duty he took very seriously.

Of the many facets of this multi-talented man, he seemed to be happiest playing and coaching table tennis, filling with joy when youngsters improved on their game and beaming with pride when the more seasoned players won their matches. In the earlier days, his brother Billy also played table tennis and every time you saw Clifton, you saw his son Triston and older daughter Terisa who are now 26 and 22, respectively. They also grew to love the sport and Triston still plays to this day.

He was so happy that the DTTA was on a revival path. When the National Tournament was held in June of this year, he emerged as the Masters Champion and he was so very proud to be able to represent Dominica once again in Martinique after being away from regional competition for so long.

He was coaching up to the night of August 26, 2015, the night before TS Erika wreaked havoc on Dominica, taking with her the life of this loving husband of Jacinta, doting father to Triston, Terisa and Nakita, devoted brother, dedicated Coach, committed player and forever friend. He and his brother Billy were inseparable in life and will be together for eternity.

Ever cheering, never jeering; ever motivating, never deterring; ever encouraging, never scolding; ever jovial, never dejected; he was a man of principle, an ethical man and a man whose name will be kept alive by the Dominica Table Tennis Association because his was a life worth living and a life worth remembering.

Let us hope that God will receive this prayer sessions as the living sacrifice, which He wants from us, as repentance for the many attitude and conducts that He doesn’t about us, fellow Dominicans

Let this prayer session show the gratitude to God, for His guidance, His mercy, and most of all His shelter in Love, through that stormy blast.

Lewis will be “memorialized” and honored at the event.—News Article

Notice that the news article says “memorialized” which means a bit more than just remembering. Memorize also mean “remember”; or to store information in your memory–so what is the purpose of your question?

The theme for this 10 World Rivers Day is “God has spoken through our Rivers let us listen”. Erika is indeed a wake-up- call. It cannot be business as usual. The World Rivers Day Committee is appealing for a two minutes silence at mid-day on Sunday, 27 September, followed by the toiling of bells and the blowing of the cone shell in remembrance of all the losses during Erika. We are hoping and praying that as we move on the spirit that came alive (birthed) among us as a people in solidarity will live on forever…..

This is obviously a difficult time for you, not having your loved ones by your side and how much you miss them. It was a sad day when you realized they were gone forever.
Our loving God is with you, their family, consoling you and providing the strength to cope in your time of sorrow.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen!

In this question, memorialize is a verb that means to be or provide a monument to a person or an event. When you memorialize something, you honor it or do something so it will be remembered.

I Pray for God’s grace, strength, courage and comfort for the widows. children, relatives, friends and well wishers of all those who perished during the storm. May the God of all comfort, comfort their hearts during this very difficult time, and I do pray that the good Lord would even use their sad moments to draw them closer to Himself.

I use this pulpit of DNO to pray for them today, because I do not want to go to a church where the evangelist will be in attendance, or anyone like him, because I am fed up of their nonsense in the name of God. In fact I don’t want to be anywhere close to where those so called spiritual advisors will be because Skerrit was doing better (spiritually speaking) without them than when they got on the payroll. It was under their spiritual watch he became a member of the…
