Francis says he is bringing experience to the job

An “awesome task” is the description used by Reverend Marcus Francis  of is appointment as the new President of the Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches (DAEC).

Francis was appointed at a meeting of the DAEC’s executive held on Thursday, 9th October, 2014.

He will replace the late Bishop Michael “Bill” Daniel who held the position at the time of his passing.

“Humility and an awesome task that is set before me to work together with the rest of the committee to advance the objective of the association which is in summary to really bring the body together in a spirit of humility, a bond of peace and to give a sense of direction to the country from a biblical perspective,” Francis told Dominica News Online.

He envisions a united evangelical community in Dominica that is spreading the gospel to the lengths and breadths of the island and seeking to represent God in every facet of society.

He said he is bringing his skills, experience and passion to the job, but there will be no changes in the association as the DAEC’s mandate is clear.

Francis has served on the DAEC as a committee member during the period of 1995- 1997 and as Vice President for the past three years.

He currently serves as the District Superintendent of the Christian Union Church of the West Indies Dominica District and Pastor’s the Roseau Christian Union Church.

The present Executive comprises:

Pastor Marcus Francis – President
Sister Anthea Joseph – Secretary
Pastor Cecil Joseph – Treasurer
Sister Clementina Munro – Assistant Secretary/Treasurer
Pastor Kennedy Dupuis – Member
Pastor Francois Maxime – Member
Pastor Arlington Willson – Member

At the executive meeting a resolution was tabled for the election of a new Vice President in the upcoming months.

I am an SDA and though we are not actively involved in the evangelical association, I want to congratulate Pastor Francis. I believe that he is a person of Character and I wish him God’s blessings and an outpouring of his spirit with his new position.

        Now, now … …

The news article is not about either the SDA Church or the Roman Catholic Church. It is about the appointment of Pastor Marcus Francis to be the new president of the DAEC.

While I do not entirely agree with the Adventists nor the Catholics I see no call here to bad mouth either one of them.

Christian in his comments was congratulating Pastor Francis and expressing appreciation for his Christian testimony. I have heard SDA ministers preach the gospel of Jesus Christ according to 1 Corinthians 15:1-5, Romans 1:16, Romans 5:6-8, and John 3:16. I personally appreciate this even though here are other differences between us. Christian appreciates Pastor Marcus for the same reason and also knows he is a man of integrity.

There are often negative things we could say about certain religious organizations and churches. But it is best to have a positive message. Preach the Word and let it speak for itself. May God bless, lead, and direct all who truly know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior by trusting His redemption work on the cross alone for their salvation regardless of their church affiliation.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist. :-P

Pastor Mac. You are placed there in this time and season by the Almighty to fulfill his will, when others have buckled on the pressure of such an office. But you are made of solid material, God will provide himself a lamb… a lamb of fortitude… a lamb of Justice, a lamb of uncompromising truth.

‘But there will be no changes in the association as the DAEC’s mandate is clear.’ This statement here is very disturbing Pastor Marcus. You will know that the association has been dormant/inactive for some time. Pastors have been divided and the flock astray. So you need new resolve to make a difference. We owe this to this country.

congratulations Pastor Marcus. I hope and pray that you and the executive will really bring the churches together and break down the religious barriers. The people of God needs to be together. Pray together and have services together and work together. evangelicals have been to far apart and too segregated for too long.

The best thing for you so call pastors and evangelis to do is, to go back to basics. you allseems to have deviated from your Christian Comission and thas if you all can remember that ccomission. in dominica there are alot of broken people , there are adicts of all kinds people who are are captives of sin who need help to break the chains and shackles from their minds and bodies go back to the GOD of Israel and turn away from the path of balam the false prophet , filthy lucre and self Glorification and pastor marcus please show that you have a compassionate heart . I know you do.
