Pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church (TBC), Randy Rodney, has said he regrets comments made recently about Evangelist Peter R. Augustine on his radio show.
He described his comments as an “emotional response” when he blasted Augustine for describing Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, as the best Prime Minister of Dominica so far at a recent ceremony.
He stated on his radio show last week that his comments were not wise at that time.
“I admit that my intimate knowledge of prior comments and insidious actions presented by the subject, as well as my total frustration over the absence of anyone able to restrain these mis-statements and actions prompted my emotional response, which was not wise at the time,” he stated. “I have already committed the same to my church family, my regrets at the place of the emotional comments.”
He stated that he is accountable to his church family “and they better than anyone of you, in the listening audience or anyone else, they have a better appreciation of the surrounding circumstances, they being the prime affected.”
At the handing over ceremony of 300 petrocasas by the President of Venezuela Nicholas Maduro at the Douglas Charles Airport, Augustine had high praise for the Prime Minister for what he said was Skerrit’s handling of recovery efforts after the ravages of Tropical Storm Erika.
“I believe I said it once, and the press took me to task. And I repeat it here that I believe that God knew and God knows exactly why he allowed us to have this Prime Minister for such a time as this. And I still believe that he is the best that we have had in this country so far,” he said.
But that did not go down well with Rodney who said the statement did not come from someone with a seasoned, mature or spiritual and theological mind, but from a “sycophant.”
“That’s a dumb statement, that’s a very dumb statement, in fact that’s an extremely dumb statement for anybody in their right minds…” Rodney had said.
This statement d pastor made was downright disrespect for the office of pastor, haughtiness,and arrogance, Peter did nothing to deserve that type of treatment, if D pastor wasn’t in agreement he should have used wisdom as to how to handle this issue not on national radio. Peter was one of the evangelists in d early years who brought the gospel of Christ to many people in DA, to date D pastor have these people in his church. And I pray Peter that you continue to serve the Lord in humility, Dominica loves you. D pastor needs to make a public apology to Peter. Serve the Lord with humility my bro. Leave politics and go clean your backyard, start with d church backyard. enough said.

I was always of the view that the comment of pastor Rod was not appropriate. Peter is a human being with his own opinion. We need to control out emotions pastor. Leaders needs to know when and how to do this.

I am happy you are able to admit your mistake. However always remember a man of God must use wisdom in all situations.
Ask God to pour out more wisdom upon you pastor. This is your colleague and he too is entitled to his opinion.
As a Christian there is nothing wrong with Mr Augustine’s comment. This is indeed the best Prime Minister that Dominica has had. We have seen the man done what no other has done. He deserves his recognition and I am so proud of him.
Let’s continue to pray for him as well as the other government minister’s and those holding the fort to pull our country forward.

Then that’s my two cents in the matter to both of you. GOD did not call you both to have a fight over Caesar’s doctrine ( politics ), for Caesar’s doctrine can get no one into the Kingdom of JEHOVAH ( GOD ).

Pastor Randy you did what’s right thing. God have forgiven you . We all make mistakes, but that is not all. The church is the church. We need to separate church from politics. Pastor Rodney Sir, you are right to say that this comment of yours, against Peter Augustine, " WAS NOT A WISE ONE –especially not to the public audience, but the question is: How often are you going to come out with such outburst and to turn around and say that "it was not wise"?
You should know it sir, that Holy Spirit gives us 8 attributes to demonstrate God's Love in us–two of them are PATIENCE and SELF CONTROL. Rodney was reprimanded for his comments against Peter. Whether others told him to apologize or he took the initiative to do so, the fact is, he apologized. The next step is to either write Peter or arrange an appointment with him and apologize personally. If he does that, Augustine, in turn, from the goodness of his heart, must accept his apology and inform him, “I forgive you.”
The Lord expects that of us to make amends with those whom we wronged and they accept our apology. The rest, we leave up to God.
Since Rodney made a public apology to those who heard him and read his comments, we must accept his apology and say, “We forgive you.” The Lord expects this of us.
We must do our utmost, no more to admonish him. He has a conscience and he admitted that he erred.

What the evangelist did was very wrong and deserved to be rebuked openly. When Pastor Randy rebuked him openly it was the right and honorable thing to do. However, when he came back a week later and apologized, it was the wrong thing to do.

Pastor Randy, I am sorry but you behaved like a chicken with no backbone whatsoever. You did not even show spiritual maturity and you have the cabal laughing at you and the state of the church in Dominica.
The excuse Pastor Randy gave brought more shame to Christianity than the nonsense of Peter Augustine. I believe is either the pastor bathed with that thing water, he was bought by Skerrit, or like John the Baptist of old, who under pressure douted whether Jesus was the real one or should he look for another Matt. 11.
His response leaves me to wonder if there is any hope for the church as wrong and evil will continue to prevail and one is bold enough to say it is wrong and show the right way.

So is Pastor Randy saying that Peter R Augustine was right to make the statement he made? If not, what is wrong about calling him out? After all, if Augustine had any respect for his faith he would not have said what he said, and make it worse, he said he did it a first time.
How can I now trust and believe anything pastor Randy says? I thought he was speaking for God but clearly he showed us that God’s voice is lost in Dominica these days as none seems to be bold enough to say thus saith the Lord. When I read the article I was dismayed and disappointed with the tone of Pastor Rodney’s comments. While I by no means endorse Uncle Peter’s statement, the matter in which Pastor Rodney reacted did not depict that of a man of God, that was pure maypuis, in my mind I could see him “kawaying”. He could have stated that he disagreed without spewing all of that vitriol. As a man of the cloth, he should have done it better. You can’t call souls to Christ with an attitude like that.

When I read articles like this I really have to wonder if Dominica has gone to the point of no return. Though I am not sure I know Pastor Randy Rodney, but listening to his program on Fridays, really use to give me hope that like Elijah of old, that God still had a few good ones who had not bowed their knees to Skerit. However, after listening to him on Friday, I got very disturbed and wondered if there is still hope.
The pastor acted like a chicken, and I definitely cannot believe he is serious about anything he has condemned or will condemn.
As a believer, I believe if he felt he transgressed he should regret and confess. However, that was not the case with the pastor. The evangelist did something that is dumb and the pastor quite frankly rebuked him. What about that that’s wrong?
I feel Randy was under pressure from the cabal and they must have used those spiritual advisors to put a guilt trip on the pastor. His program on Friday was like that of a chicken that is confused.

However if you do not know it, hope is not from the word of man like yourself; God gives His people hope–especially the hope of living with Him Eternally, through Jesus Christ
That hope in you should be born from the knowledge that Jesus gave His Life that you might live–that hope is confirmed in the fact that Jesus took His Life again, to assure you that He is walking with you as you walk the path of Life.—that is if you are walking that path at all!
And so, if you say you had hope because of the words of a certain man, no wonder this hope in you has died–because it was a belief in you, but with no grounds–now think about that!
Confession is good for the soul. It is good to accept when you wrong and admit it. Then do better next time. We are not perfect and without faults. You are forgiven. Remember your responsibility as a minister is for peace, love ,unity, forgiveness among other things. Lead don’t follow.
You will get more publicity as you seem to be seeking. If you are “sorry” or regret for your comments against the other person, “pastor.” Then you should go down on your knees and tell God. So do you just get all crazy headed and roll your tongue on a person without reflecting on the damage you may cause? Man you are operating in the flesh; and should take a time off from behind your pulpit. Let your deacon carry on. You aught to be more temperate as an adult and a PRESS-TOR. I mean “pasta.”

Derrick, you are a fool, if which of the two is actually a wolf in sheep clothing : If I had to judge, I would say the man who gives glory to the little Dominica god Skerrit is more a wolf in sheep clothing. He is right that puppet Peter is playing and sing Skerrit song for something in return.
Just because some say God, did this, or God send someone does not make their stupid political comments correct! Were it pertains to the weather, that plays a role in human life God ordained it to be so, we prove that in science, illiterate people like Peter, has no knowledge of Physical Geography or any scientific knowledge about the universe, and the weather; many of us has, and I can tell you he is full of garbage!
