  1. My belated congratulations to Dr. Adrien on receiving her Ph.D. in Public Health.

She has chosen an important and appreciated field in which to study and work. Her advanced accomplishment places her in a position to not only earn a living, but to help others who will be working in the field.

As is usually the case there will be many who hope Dr. Adrien will settle in Dominica. I pray God will direct this young woman’s decisions. She will be a blessing wherever she serves.

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

Congratulations! You have done well. Your family must be proud of you.
You have projected diligence in continued studies do win in the end.
You will never be out of a job, be laid off or downsized; no business closure and bankruptcy here.   Your profession pays extremely well especially in the US.
Although PhD is the maximum level, I am certain if you wish to study further in a specialized field of your career you could so. There is always the opportunity. The scope is great.
I wish you well. Good luck in your career and any future endeavors.
Sister of Susan Adrien-Nesty? I remember Susan and her late husband, Arthur Nesty. People/names as these bring back fond memories of Dominica in those days. Nice, friendly people. Hope Susan is doing well.
    God bless you all!

Do you have some kind of doctorate? My guess is no. So my suggestion is that you congratulate (or not) and refrain from the criticisms. SMH!

What is your problem? Nursing is an honorable career. Nurses are brilliant. In their career and experience they are helpful to doctors.
PhD is a higher level of nursing. Furthermore, she can do more and probably much more than if she were a doctor. Both careers are important ones. In addition, not everyone wants to be a doctor. This is her preferred career and we must congratulate her.

      May 19, 2016

What is your deal? Why should she? She is a nurse! Nursing is it’s own profession? So when I get my PhD in forensic nursing what will you say? Why did I do medicine? Your comment is insulting to the nursing Profession!

      • smh
        May 19, 2016

Id say why not just become a forensic pathologist. but still congratulations! :)

    Congratulations. Great job.
DNO this may be petty but i am allowed to blog with mistakes not yall. It should not be “migrated from Dominica”. Should be either “immigrated to the US or emigrated from Dominica.” Thats what i was taught at SIFOCOL. 8)

    • Face the Facts
      May 18, 2016

I would not have questioned the word “migrate” for I know it is commonly used in this modern-day era.
      Did you check the meaning?
Migrate is acceptable for this purpose. It is a shorter form of “immigrate and emigrate.”
Migrate – One of the meanings is, “Move from one region or country to another, often to seek work or other economic opportunities.”
Birds migrate; as in migration. It is never stated that they immigrate(d) or emigrate(d).
It is said the English language is the most difficult to learn.
