When you, as a sprat, start swimming with the sharks, you’ll be swallowed up going upstream. I’m glad I remained a mediocre musician. Music is clean, or should be. Music is to give praise to a deity – If it is directed to the wrong one; then you in trouble. Remember Lucifer whose voice was like a pipe organ? Also, you remember Jubal the father of Music? Anything that’s good and pure, the devil wants to use it for the destruction of the soul. Look what music has turned to, even in Dominica!! It’s to have a man at the bottom of a woman gyrating and cuming. If music is without some dirty lyrics then it’s not music. WE ARE GOING DOWN LOW. THE WORLD WANTS TO GET INTO THE CHURCH; BUT THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL.

Lessons – good and bad – can be learned from the death of this much loved man.

He worked hard to get out of his career what he put into it. When you can see your work growing and enjoy the fruits of what you do it there is the motivation to put in the long hours and expend the energy.

He didn’t put all his eggs in one basket. An wise artist knows people have different tastes, and the music scene changes. Prince diversified his music, and his following grew.

He knew the value of professionalism. I admired his politeness and the time he gave journalists.

It is what we are learning now about his death that causes so much grief. The latest reports say he died of a drug overdose. Prince, why, oh why? This did not have to happen! You didn’t have to leave us so soon.

Young people, please don’t play with drugs. Give them no place in your lives. Also remember, rich or poor, young or old, death will come to each of us. Make the right decision now. Receive Jesus Christ as…

Folks, I am sorry, sorry, sorry for all this repetition.

Some technical problem seemed to come between me and DNO today, and it has happened before. I typed something and it disappeared from the screen. I typed it again best I could remember. It disappeared again. Now I end up with it on the screen, not twice, but three times.

        Sincerely, Rev. D. Hill.

He didn’t die of a drug overdose unless someone gave it to him on purpose. He was speaking out and they didn’t like it, so he was killed like many of the others. Another human sacrifice.

The down side of fame and celebrity is that it affords one the ability to destroy their lives. TMZ reported that the likely cause of death was a drug overdose.

Folk drugs kill ordinary people on a regular basis, there is no reason that celebrities would be spared the same fate.

How can you say he was Prince, that informs me you are talking something that you do not know about: the usual way of Dominican knows all!

The performer was born, and named Prince Rogers Nelson on June 7, 1958, in Minneapol Minn. He released his debut album: “For You” in 1978, followed by Prince (1979), Di Mind (1980).

He stop using his berth name due to a record label contract which was in court, I am not about to give details, nevertheless he created a symbol as his name, but the man died Prince, since he had long return to using his appropriate name.

The late Ray Charles had the same problem, and continued to perform, and record under the name “Clarence Carter.”

He was Prince at time of passing. He resolved whatever issue he had with his label and said one could call him Prince again. I saw that in a recent interview that was replayed on one of the networks yesterday.

Its not that big of a mystery people. Alot of stars abuse drugs ( both legal and illegal drugs), lead otherwise unhealthy lifestyles ( eg. partying too much , bad diets) and allow stress of their hectic careers and personal lives to way them down…There are however many stars who take care of themselves physically , spirituallyetc. look at people like Denzel Washington, Faith Hill, Celine Dion etc.

Sometimes fate calls on stars just like us all but many times they bring about their own demise

RIP Prince. you were indeed talented…I hope your soul is at rest, wherever it may be now

If you know anything about Prince he treated his body as a temple…Vegan, no drugs or alcohol. He was a strict Jehova Witness so what you just said above is simply not true.

      • Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque
        April 22, 2016

Well, if you truly believe Prince treated his body like a temple, how do you explain the following?
“Doctors gave Prince a “safe shot” after he was rushed to the hospital, something reportedly given to counteract the effects of opiates. Doctors apparently advised that Prince stay in the hospital for 24 hours — he left,”

In medicine, opiate is any sedative, narcotic containing opium, or any of its derivatives. As far as I am concerned the died from overdosing on illegal drugs, he was a dope head, don’t put anything pass anybody in the human flesh!

Wendy, sometimes we present ourselves to the public in a certain way, but we all know that is only for public consumption. Tiger Woods and his handlers presented him almost like Mr. Perfect, so was Bill Cosby. Now we all know differently.

I was referring to the stars in general. in comments made before mine many people mentioned many STARS dying early : eg. whitney houston, michael jackson etc…wasnt whitney taking drugs?

my comment was not specifically about Prince…I dont know much about the man…dont listen to his music…but I know he was very talented

Let’s just hold all judgment until we know what killed him. Prince wasn’t wild like some artist. So, let’s just wait and see. We don’t know what happened. Gossip can cause a lot of misinformation by way of the media. So, I choose to wait as I mourn the death of one of the greatest artist of all time.

I doubt that he died from any flu and I doubt that the results of the autopsy will ever be conclusive or released. Another mysterious death in the entertainment business, just like Michael Jackson’s and Whitney Houston’s. He was talking about the chemtrailing recently on a talk show and what Dick Gregory was saying.

As heard while on his plane he did not feel well and his plane was diverted. He returned to work the next day. He was found slumped in an elevator on his property.
It was also stated he had the flu. I wonder if he was given a full medical test. He should have rested for a while. He did not want to disappoint his fans.
I also heard he made approximately $1.1M daily, not as much as in previous years.
He once lived in Toronto for a few years. He was married but the marriage did not last.
It is said, at his death he is worth approximately $30M which may increase after his death. It is not known if he left a Will. I hope he did.
Remember the saga with Michael Jackson’s Will.

“Prince became an international superstar in 1982 due to his album “1999”

He was a supper star long prior to that 1982 song; if memory serves me correctly he won an academy award for his song “purple rain” and his performance in the movie with the same title Purple Rain. Apart from his singing and performing he wrote songs for lots of other artists such as Sheila E and people like a couple of white girls Lisa, and Wendy too; they were in his Band, and went on to become successful also.

You Dominicans know so dam much, until you make no sense. When Elvis Presley died he was in his sixty’s the man was almost ten years older than I when he died!

If Bob Marley was not ignorant, he would not have thought marijuana could have cured his cancer. The cancer first appeared on one toe, he allowed it to spread all over his body and into his brain, rather than going through chemotherapy, he said the smoke from marijuana would cure him.

Houston died as a result of the abuse of drugs, cocaine, which ravaged her internal organs, you all simply make stupid comments with nothing to support your comments. Michael Jackson same thing over dosed himself on a dangerous anesthesia, which should be administered in a hospital, in his house.

Illegal drugs; Cocaine Marijuana, Alcohol of all kinds, aids hepatitis A, B, and C kills too!

Okay you are correct! I simply calculated the wrong year he died, he died in 1977, I concentrated on a year in the 1980’s. He was actually born on January 8, 1935, that’s a hole lot of years before me mama conceived me oui!

I was convinced you were an idiot, but now I will forgive you. Did you get checked for Alzheimer? You do not even know your own age. Not only did Elvis die at 42, he died over 30 years ago. Did you mean 10 years older than you at the time? Then that would make you 71 years old now and well into your 90s if he died in his 60s.. For a man in his seventh decade you are sure bitter and evil.

Can’t you for one minute think some positive thoughts? You must have had a really rough life for you to be so bitter in your silver years.

In reference to Bob Marley: He did in fact receive care from a few doctors who really didn’t know how to treat his cancer. Once he finally made it to Germany, the melanoma was too far gone. I wouldn’t say it was his ignorance but the inexperienced physicians treating him until it was too late. Bob Marley did try chemotherapy buy his disease had already spread. Chemotherapy doesn’t always cure it just keeps the symptoms at bay. Marijuana played no part in his disease unless you mean relaxing him….but if we was dying, then so be it.

This is the life of celebrities. They live too fast, are always on the go, may not eat nutritiously and may not get ample rest. He probably ingested drugs.
In general how well do they take care of themselves? With all that money, one would think they should live to be a hundred or more to be able to enjoy it.

We all know people die at a different age. We do say, with all that money and talent, he did not live long to enjoy it.
I did not state he has to but someone who comprehends what I mean will agree. So much money and he did not live long to enjoy it. What a waste and of his time! If only he new.
