Queen Elizabeth, who ascended the throne aged just 25 as her exhausted country struggled to recover from the ravages of World War Two, makes history on Wednesday when she becomes Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.

At about 5.30 p.m. (1230 ET), Elizabeth, who now aged 89 is also the nation’s oldest ever monarch, will surpass the 63 years, 7 months, 2 days, 16 hours and 23 minutes that her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria spent on the throne.

British Prime Minister David Cameron led tributes to the queen.

“Over the last 63 years, Her Majesty has been a rock of stability in a world of constant change and her selfless sense of service and duty has earned admiration not only in Britain, but right across the globe,” Cameron said.

Shaka Zula are you a Dominican ? You are very ungrateful. God does not like ungrateful people. The Queen was not asked to be born in her family. The same way you were not asked to be born in your situation. You should be thankful . You can say what you want she is the queen of the Country that assisted Your Country. May God have mercy on you I am praying for you my brother.

    I love her words:

“I cannot lead you into battle. I do not give you laws or administer justice. But I can do something else. I can give you my heart and my devotion to these old islands and to all the peoples of our brotherhood of nations.”

And so she did. She has fulfilled her duty as Queen. Through the years she has changed much, bend sometimes to suit the times.
She looks well for one her age. She is a lovely lady, looking as dignified and gracious as ever. Her smile is captivating.

Queen Elizabeth II, A Happy 63rd year on the Throne of Great Britain. May God continue to grant you health and strength for many years to come.

God bless you! God bless and save Queen Elizabeth II!

Who cares!!!!! What has that done for us. Absolutely nothing. I cannot believe in this day and age people still hold this inbred folks who have looked down on my kind in any esteem. We are all created equal and the only queen I know is my mom. Elizabeth could float away on an iceberg in the north pole for all I care.

Some of us care. We may not know her and we may never meet her in person but we care and we do love her. She has done us nothing wrong. Why should we dislike and hate her?
Your words may satisfy you and make you feel good but this is as far as they go. They make no difference to us and do not (cannot) change a thing.
Some love people. Others do not love. They do not have it in them to love. The skin pigmentation makes no difference. Furthermore, many of us D/cans, if not all of us are partial descendants of the white race. So why should we hate anyone of another (purer)) race?
Note the help D/ca is receiving from many people of many nationalities, race and color. You should be grateful and not exhibit hatred toward anyone.
We all know she is as much human as we are with our different personality and characteristic traits. However, we are to love her as a person and respect her status.
It will give you much happiness and peace of mind if you do likewise.
