Rhona Riley, a BSc Political Science major at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Dominica will represent Dominica’s Chapter of the Campus’ Student Guild at the Induction Ceremony on Friday, September 9, 2016 in Jamaica.
Ms. Riley, who is Deputy Chair of the Dominica Site’s Guild Chapter, has been appointed as the Returning Officer of the Regional Guild which represents students from all forty-four (44) sites of the Open Campus throughout the Caribbean. Ms. Riley is also currently serving on the Chapter Development Task Force, the Library Committee and the Disciplinary Committee of the UWI Open Campus.
“I am elated to receive the opportunity to serve,” said Riley. “ I am humbled by the opportunity to work with and for the members of this prestigious institution and its body of students. The Regional Guild is vibrant and ready to work in the interest of its students and I am pleased to be an active part of the decisions that will have positive impact.”
The Induction Ceremony, which will take place at the Social Welfare Training Building at UWI Mona, will be presided by Dr. Luz Longworth, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the UWI Open Campus. The featured address will be delivered by Mr. Floyd, State Minister, Minister of State in the Jamaica Cabinet.
The other UWI Open Campus Guild Chapter Executive members are Ms. Natasha Jervier (Chair), Ms. Vickindra Simon (Public Relations Officer), Ms. Deborah Fabien (Secretary), Kerina Jean (Treasurer), Ms. Luanne Mitchell (Academic Student Representative) and Ms. Laura Smith Post Graduate Student Representative).
Besides Ms. Riley, two other members of Dominica’s Chapter Executive currently serve at the regional level. Ms. Natasha Jervier is the Games Committee Chair and Ms. Laura Smith is Regional Post Graduate Representative.
There is not story except that she is a part of a group going to represent. Congrats girls. (Ps your hair looks great and your lips are popping!!)

Congratulation to all the women who holds executive position at the UWI Open Campus. I did not see any names of men being mentioned, where have our men gone. I’m wondering whether its an all girl’s institution?
