Special recognition was on Thursday morning given to first Chief Minister of Dominica, Frank Baron, at the 19th annual VOSH mission being held at the Goodwill Parish Hall.
The mission is in Dominica providing eye care for the less fortunate under the patronage of the Rotary Club.
Baron, who is an honorary Rotarian, will be celebrating his 90th birthday on Thursday 17th, 2013.
He was instrumental in the earlier stages of the VOSH missions to Dominica.
Members of the VOSH Team wished Mr. Baron happy birthday in song and treated him to eye care services.
Baron is well known for his contribution to public service as a member of the Roseau Town Council in 1945 to becoming the most powerful member of the Legislative Council in the 1950s.
