His Excellency, President Charles Savarin inspects the guard of honour at the opening of Parliament

The First Meeting of the Second Session of the Tenth Parliament officially got underway this morning, where Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit presented to the nation a 993.6 million dollar budget for approval from parliament for the fiscal year 2021-2022.

Before the budget presentation, the President of Dominica His Excellency Charles Savarin as customary inspected the guards, then gave his official address at the House of Assembly on Victoria Street, Roseau.

Below are the photos from this morning’s proceedings outside of Parliament.

If allyou doh look at anything else take a look at picture 28,,,

Isn’t that the Library that still there without a roof???

If that’s the case isn’t there suppose to be an allocation for repairing that fundamental public benefit???

When those Albinos invaded African one of the first places the dismantled was the Library of Alexandra,,,

Wake up people wake up like those Lucians did and start confronting the Skerrit Cabal so Dominica doesn’t end up like one of those rouge States with no leadership and always in turmoil because they always are being influenced by outside forces,,,

What is wrong with you people? When are we going to stop emulating this colonial nonsense? It’s about time we develop an identity of our own. How can anyone defend this “papi show” is beyond me.

Look theatre. Every year the same nonsense. I rather see Phantom of the Opera here in London’s Leicester Square rather than watch or listen to this Alibaba and the 40 thieves enscenation in Roseau. It’s not only a joke but also the height of bad taste!

It is great and pleasing to see how Skerrit stands at attention – ala Maurice Bishop. Skerrit is the Indomitable.

You know what happened to Maurice Bishop? Be careful what you wish for but the writing is already on the wall regarding your new idol. Make sure you are not anywhere near by at the time.

It is such a pity that the beautiful old Library building remains unrestored after Hurricane Maria. Imagine how attractive Victoria Street would look if it were. And a suitable background for all in their finery for such ceremonial occasions.

Restore the Library building, please! Even if its function changes – a warm and welcoming tourist centre with a cafe, perhaps?

Thank goodness I have memories – and photos – of the way it was.

It will. Everything takes time. But it will. Trust me, just like everything else. As they say in creole, tou pwasay paca fe jour ouvert. Got it. It is either they find the funds to rebuild or gets funded by some international government or organization.

That is all Savarin does- parade up and down – nothing – no use.

    • July 29, 2021

Charles Savarin is doing a glamorous job that you could not do if you were in his position. Sour grapes. You are the real fox.

    • July 29, 2021

What else do you want him to do? Do you want him to come over to your residence and give you a bath like a baby? That is what a President is supposed to do. Inspecting the Guard of Honour. What do you inspect? Watching Charles Savarin and salivate.

Guard of Honour? For whom? A bunch of gangsters? Why don’t you do us all a favour, we are not buying any stale fish, in particular not of somebody like YOU.

If you Mike knew your history of this land, you would have known his use in the past especially when he was relevant to your ancestors who were civil servants. How old are you? What have you done since you do not parade up and down? You need to understand certain things before you talk.

Since you are not parading up and down, what are you doing or done for your country?

You need to at least respect people and if you do not understand anything, ask or read. Mr. Savarin is probably over 70 and you think he is of no use. Examine your horns and start doing something of use that you think he would be doing. I am watching and waiting.

Thanks ADMIN. Boy she stole the show with that outfit for sure. If I did not look at the other pics, I would say she was attending some red carpet function and not Parliament

The sign of Evil is written all over this group ah people, that only the wise and prudent can discern that. The cape lady got that style from ah mother. Yep. Dem people used to fly. See the hand gesture of house speaker? I mean de loud speaker. Satan worshippers they be. If you love your country, Dominica, then you ought to be concern. Just see who is your “president.” Remember that guy 38-40 years ago? Now he is “Your hexellency.”

Who is the guy in shorts behind Linton, is that his chief of security?

  11. July 29, 2021

I don’t think if Edison James was President that he would have looked so charming, down to earth, finesse, good-looking, polished, great demeanor, magnetic, like Charles Savarin is in high-definition picture.
