EU ministers say Brexit delay letter from May too vague

Theresa May

EU ministers have said that a letter from Theresa May requesting a further Brexit delay, through the mechanism of an article 50 extension, is too vague to justify it being offered. In a letter to Donald Tusk, president of the European council, May said the UK would like to delay Brexit until 30 June.

She specified that date even though, when she asked for an extension until 30 June last month, EU leaders refused, and set 12 April – next Friday – as the deadline if MPs failed to vote for the withdrawal deal. At the time, the EU also said that, if the UK wanted a further extension beyond 12 April, May would have to explain “a way forward”.

In her letter today. May said that she hoped to agree a compromise with Labour and that, if that failed, she might use indicative votes in the Commons to find a way forward. Using similar language, the French, German and Dutch governments all complained that this did not provide enough clarity about how the UK might resolve its Brexit deadlock.

If the Eurocrats allow a long extension, then new elections will be held for the European Parliament whilst the UK is still a member and Nigel Farage and the like will make their lives miserable. Assuming they have the patience for that, at least we’ll get some entertaining YouTube clips out of it!

The British people voted in the majority to leave the EU. These British parliamentarians must stop forming the fool and give the British people what they voted for and stop delaying BREXIT.

I’m in complete agreement with the British people wanting to retain control over their sovereignty, laws and decision-making processes of their country rather than handing over these rights to a band of officials in Brussels, most of whom the British people never voted for.

Hurry up with BREXIT Theresa May and stop this delay game gimmick!!!! Phew!!!!!!

The result of the brexit vote was almost even 50/50 whilst many young folks stayed away and I strongly believe that’s why they are in that mess. Want to have their cake and eat it. I support France on the issue give them the boots..Get the hell out deal or no deal. That’s what happen when people are not being thankful for what GOD has bless them with .For they think that,’they can steer the world where they want it to go”. Good luck with that.
They are now a bunch of miserables lead by a bunch of miserable blind mouses….
