Maduro calls Trump a coward for putting sanctions on his wife and others

President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro and first lady Cilia Flores who was a target of US sanctions

On Tuesday, the Trump administration issued sanctions in what the US claims is an effort in hindering Venezuela’s corruption but not in the manner you might think.

Instead of taking action directly against the president or the state, individuals in President Maduro’s retinue have been slapped with sanctions including his wife lady Cilia Flores, according to an Associated press and Reuters report.

The following individuals have had their assets seized and been barred from doing business with Americans: Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, Communications Minister Jorge Rodriguez and Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino.

“We are continuing to designate loyalists who enable Maduro to solidify his hold on the military and the government while the Venezuelan people suffer,” Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin said in a statement. This was after the treasury “blocked” a $20 million private jet they claim belongs to one of Maduro’s close associates.

In response, Maduro said: “If you want to attack me, attack me, but do not mess with Cilia. Do not mess with the family; do not be cowards.”

He said the first lady’s only crime is “being my wife.”

Venezuela can’t even take control of their own oil and gas. The petroleum industry in Venezuela has declined sharply since Chavez’s take over despite the increase in proven oil reserves. They siphoned away all the millions gained from the sale of oil to finance social programs to buy support in their country, to give handouts to countries like ours to buy support overseas and also to fill the pockets of their cronies to maintain party loyalty. Very little of that money was reinvested into keeping the lucrative oil business running where all the money came from in the first place.

The truth is that much of that oil wealth is now mortgaged to the likes of Russia and China.

i am not a fan of trump but this is what you need to do especially if maduro may have been using his wife as a means to syphon money out of the state. so thats a good way to put pressure on the leader by targeting his associates

I know Trump is a friend of a certain Dominican in high places and so too is Chavez, so he will not talk. But I tell you expect the US, I didn’t Trump, to also put sanction on that Dominican, just as the US put sanction on some Russians in the ongoing investigation. You see that plea deal Manafort entered in. Many experts expect him to flip on our former, or present Ambassador Paulo Zampoli, who is a friend of Trump and Zampoli will flip on a certain Dominican. Now what about the Alariza Monfared thing? You all think it is over? Well don’t forget it has to do with oil sanction and Reza Zarrab, is a good friend and associate of Monfared. Zarrab was arrested and then flipped to become a US personal witness. So no matter how we look at it soon we will be hearing of some real fire and sanctions placed on a certain Dominican, who is a friend of Maduro

Maduro, the only coward I see is you! One can not really get any lower than to steal from their own people even though they are already starving. Having said that, our own country plays in the same league as Venezuela already. The DLP regime learned good from you and Chavez.

He probably saw Madura and his first lady Cilia gorging themselves at the world famous Nusr-Er steak house in Istanbul during a recent stopover from a visit to China, where he went to seek urgent financial aid (reported to be U.S,$. 5 billion). That was such an insensitive thing to do when his own people are starving back home and hardly see meat and are fortunate to have one meal a day.

Venezuelans are starving because of sanctions placed on it by the US and its allies. This is all in furtherance of American greed and their desire to control Venezuelan oil.
