US President Barack Obama has confirmed he will visit Cuba in March as part of a broader trip to Latin America.

He will be only the second sitting US president in history to travel to the island’s capital of Havana.

US Republicans have criticised the visit, saying it should not take place while the Castro family is in power.

Washington and Havana restored diplomatic ties last July and the US relaxed travel and trade restrictions after a 54-year freeze.

The US president confirmed his Cuba trip in a post on Twitter, saying: “Next month, I’ll travel to Cuba to advance our progress and efforts that can improve the lives of the Cuban people.”

One last chance to visit Cuba and to make amends with the Cuban government prior to leaving office.
Fidel Castro is still alive to see and witness it.

Good job Barack. History will be very kind to you in this regard.

However, while you are out there tell the Castro brothers to let the Cuban people go….stop caging them like they are animals. Why should someone have to seek permission to leave their country in this modern day and age. Regardless of what Cuba says people are still property of the Castros and that is sad.

It would be nice if you could drop by Ma. Dominique to ask Skerro back for the money you gave him for the coast guard base up north. I am sure Reggie will whisper in your ears the reason why the police station was closed down in Capuchin 8). If you plan on dropping by Ma.Dominique please tell Skerro in advance so he can get you a bottle of BWA-BANDE to help in your daily life. After all, that is what he thinks American diplomats need most.

    Always Assertive!

They should host the American president at Guantanamo bay. When he leaves he should hand Guantanamo bay back over to Cuba and take the US soldiers and prisoners with him.

The Republican Party and the CIA should apologise for trying to kill the leader of Cuba. They should also admit he is lucky they are so stupid.

If the republican party hate Castro so much why they don’t demand that Obama hand Guantanamo Bay back to the Cuban people
      and leave.
