US Senate Votes Overwhelmingly to End Government Shutdown

The Senate voted 81-18 on Monday to end the three-day old government shutdown, with Democrats joining Republicans to clear the way for the passage of a short-term spending package that would fund the government through February 8 in exchange for a promise from Republican leaders to address the fate of young, undocumented immigrants known as Dreamers according to a report from the New York Times.

“In a few hours, the government will reopen,” said Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader. “We have a lot to do.”

Because Chuck Schumer’s strategy failed,he said Monday “we are going to reopen the government”Just imagine a man elected by the citizens of the U.S.to represent their interest, shutting down the government.Saying people who are here illegally should be legalized now.Don’t get me wrong I want the congress to help them, and I know under this Republican administration they will be taken care of.
If you listened to democrats and the news media except Fox news, you would swear the Republican party is against immigrants.
While campaigning Obama gave the assurance to those illegal, that in his first 12 months in office they will be legalized. It could be done in his first 24 months without a single vote from the Republicans.even Bush while leaving office told him “Make immigration your first priority” but no, they rather talk it.
The only president I know who have given amnesty to illegals is Reagan (this LOVELY Republican) Not one democrat, but hear them talk.
