BBC NEWS – Venezuela’s President, Hugo Chavez, has said troops will seize control of any business that raise prices in response to the devaluation of its currency.
He said there was no reason for prices to go up, and speculators’ businesses would be handed over to the workers.
Venezuelans have rushed to the shops to buy imported goods before the bolivar’s devaluation comes into effect.
Mr Chavez says devaluing the bolivar by at least 17% will boost competitiveness and reduce dependence on imports.
Chavez is a Laborite. And like Charles Saverine said “Viva Hugo Chavez” These people are being robbed out of their business and there is nothing they can do about it. That is because Chvez is not even smart enough to realize they are right.
Don’t use Chavez as a model. What he has is a dictatorial communistic state.
wait for it,,,,,,,,wait for it,,,,,,,,,wait for it,,,,,,,,,newsweek predicted something great for Venezuela for this year. Let’s all just wait and enjoy or not…………………………
Tony Astaphans take note.
this is where dominica is headed, tho this is unlikely because of the fact that the E.C dollar being shared by several other islands. But if dominica had its own currency what a low value that would have geez. But chavez is skerits role model…. single party state.
ITS JUST THE BEGINNING!!!
Well Dominicians, hand over business to workers. what can of thing is that? Is that the next level for DOMIINICA?
It’s downhill from here on, it’s kinda like Montserrat’s volcano, it blew so much hot air and ash and now the dome has collapse, I think they call it an implosion.
