‘We want food!’, Venezuelans cry at protest near presidency

Protesters say they want food

Venezuelan security forces fired teargas at protesters chanting “We want food!” near Caracas’ presidential palace on Thursday, the latest street violence in the crisis-hit OPEC nation.

Hundreds of angry Venezuelans heading toward Miraflores palace in downtown Caracas were met by National Guard troops and police who blocked a major road.

President Nicolas Maduro, under intense pressure over a worsening economic crisis in the South American nation of 30 million, had been scheduled to address a rally of indigenous groups nearby around the same time.

The protest spilled out of long lines at shops in the area, witnesses said, after some people tried to hijack a food truck.

I thought the ambassador of Venezuela said that things are not as bad as the way that the media personnel portrays it in Venezuela! Yet Venezuela ns are starving. Foolish pride kills

  2. The Venezuelan government is in denial.

How can they hide their economical condition from the world when we have pictures like this before our eyes?

Was it socialism that brought them to the brink of ruin? It is difficult for a nation to admit it followed a flawed political ideology. All they had to do was look at other nations that show cased communism until they collapsed in shame.

Jesus Christ said “A bad tree will bring forth bad fruit. A good tree will bring forth good fruit. You will know the kind of tree it is by the fruit it bears. My heart wept when I read of Venezuelan security forces
firing tear gas on protestors as they chanted “We want food. We want food.” I thought to myself “Yes, this is the heart of communism.” Those who don’t know history are prone to repeat its mistakes.

This is not the first time communism has left deserted warehouses and empty shelves in its wake.

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

I would be most grateful if DNO would post a copy of this report to the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Dominica. I hope he does not make a public fool of himself again. When Honorable Lennox Linton speaks the world listens, even Tony Astaphan. Why doesn’t the Ambassador, Skeritt. or Aaron do the same.

IF the Ambassador is against his own people, you can imagine how he twet with Dominicans. He just like skerrit. He should have invited skerrit to make his babies in Venuzuela. By the way, I hope skerrit makes ian, holy God father when they confirm.

In order to have a political system here on earth which is just and perfect. You will need an administrator who is also JUST and PERFECT,And since the #1 book in the world tells us
“There is not a JUST man on earth who does good and does not sin Ecclesiastes 7:2.” We have a problem.
The left/progressives like to use the Bible Acts 4:32-36 How they had all things common…and they distribute to each other. One thing the left does not tell you, it was not the government who seized their property and shared it with the haves not,but it was the owners who sold the own properties and brought the money to the Apostles and they distributed to each as anyone had need.
President Johnson (democrat) once said on Air Force One,(the plane that flies the U.S.President.)
“I am going to make the Negroes forever vote democrats.Soon after he gave a speech and declares WAR on poverty. So they started giving more handouts.Since that time over 22 trillion have been spent and produced more poverty.

You that whosoever, you are; who claimed to be a sort of Venezuelan ambassador to Dominica: You claimed as all communist puppets do when communism start biting the poor in their behind, babbles, and defend a lost cause; by denying there is any problem in your country.

Life was a dream of prosperity in the Soviet Union even on the day communism died in Russia!

You made the claim the media is making it appear worst than it is in Venezuela. Here is a another picture, Mr. Communists, puppet of a dictator, which exposes the suffering of the poor hungry unfortunate people of your country!

How do you account for the pain on the faces of the hunger? A picture is truly worth more than a thousand words: If you are unable to read English, call your Dominica counterpart in Venezuela to interpret it to you in patios!

Socialism has worked no where.Don’t be Hypnotized by the help which we are receiving from China, Cuba and Venezuela.Yes,we should welcome the assistance but let us not be-little our selves by thinking we are worse off than the average person living in these countries.Yes China and Russia had to add a little capitalism in their system.
Two weeks ago my brother visited Cuba, and he told me “Every where you go, you have people begging.”
These left-wing politicians love this phrase “Social justice”.You will hear them say “It is wrong for one man or a family to own millions of dollars and you can hardly make ends meet.” So they took over the economy, seized private property and create a system where you have to stand in line to received hand-outs from the government.Your children raised with the same mentality.”I am poor because of the rich.I will never succeed in life,so I will just follow the footsteps of my parents. depend on the government for everything even housing

    • June 3, 2016

The Ambassador to Venezuela should be ask by Dominicans to return home for misrepresentation and spreading propaganda that the situation in there country is not as bad , and have the gull for blaming the Opposition Leader Lennon Linton in support of his DLP cronies well it backfired on him.

shay, I was thinking the same thing. Why is the ambassador being so tight lip about the situation when it is depicted on television everywhere that Venezuela is in dire need. I guess he can’t say anything bad because Maduro will deal with him.

I thought the Bogus ambASSador said that things are not that critical in the country and that the people were not starving and it was all about the western media. What a bunch of hypocrites these blood suckers are siphoning the wealth of their nation for their personal use leaving in the lap of luxury whilst the poor people of the country continues to starve and be placed under the gun by the military arm of this corrupt government. This is similar to what goes on in Dominica and the people had better wake up and smell the coffee before it is too late people.

I suppose that it is the USA that took the people’s food why they are doing what they have to do.Mr Ambassador you are full of it.I’m sure that Mr Linton has nothing to do with creating the situation in Venezuela, whereas the same can’t be said for Skerritt. He encouraged and facilitated the largess which created the mess.
