The launch of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) candidate for the Marigot constituency, Gregory Riviere, has been postponed.
Candidate for the Roseau Central constituency and wife of prime minister Roosevelt Skerrit, Melissa Poponne Skerrit, made the announcement in a post on her Facebook page this morning.
“The Dominica Labour Party wishes to advise that due to the inclement weather currently affecting the country and on the advice of local weather authorities, the grand launching of Gregory Riviere at the Marigot Fisheries Complex scheduled for TODAY July 28, 2019 has been postponed. A new date for the event will be announced later,” Poponne Skerrit stated.
Riviere has taken up the challenge of unseating Opposition leader and leader of the United Workers Party, Lennox Linton, who is the current parliamentary representative for the Marigot Constituency.
The Dominica Meteorological Service reported in its 6:00 am weather advisory today that a tropical wave is projected to move across the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.
According to the Met Office, “this wave is expected to generate an increase in cloudiness and shower activity which could be moderate to heavy at times and isolated thunderstorms across most of the island chain, including Dominica, particularly during today.”
The advisory added that the unstable conditions are expected to linger into Monday and officials of the Dominica Meteorological Service have advised that people in areas that are prone to flooding, landslide and falling rocks “should exercise extreme caution mainly from Sunday.”

Labourites. I know you are afraid to let go of the red clinic and I understand. After so many years of being dependent, the idea of making your own living must be daunting. I just want you all to know that once we have a proper government in place, UWP Team Dominica, things will get better for the common man. You see, right now your party leaders are hoarding most of the country’s wealth for themselves while giving you the minimum required, for you to live long enough to vote. That’s all you mean to the DLP, another vote. UWP cares about you. Team Dominica wants you to be wealthy, independently wealthy. Use your vote wisely. Vote the saw.

It seems like Skerrit have a potion that seeks and finds the dumbest Dominicans in any constituency. In a way Greg made a move to help the people of Marigot, because the brutality have been unnerving for many ppl in that village. but if Marigot ppl believe that voting for Greg is not a vbote for Skerrit then they’re sadly mistaken. This incumbent, political party practises Plantation Politics. Only the elites and the well connected thrive under its ill-thoughout policies. Take a very serious look around Dominica. Only a few people are doing well, Skerrit and his immediate family, Ministers of government, Tony and the other few enablers in high positions in the civil service. The rest of the masses is condemned to a life of unbearable poverty, joblessness, meager income and Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) acquired from the cheap, cholesterol laden foods one is compelled to eat everyday because of the desperate financial circumstances. We must rid the country of these uncaring, diabolical parasites in the present government or continue to live on the periphery of life. They ride on the broken backs of the poor man, woman and child to maintain their champagne lifestyles. Retaining power is their #1 priority.
While natural challenges and developmental challenges continue to impact on the lives of Dominica citizens, its Government is busy spending millions to win an election to govern over fifty-something thousand people! Do you hear and see madness oh my good Lord Jesus Christ?

This postponed free show was nothing more than Karessa outsmarted Skerrit to bring some of the COOL OUT money to Marigot. Karessa has outsmarted Skerrit already and got a lot of money from Skerrit to put on a free show but Greg also wanted the people of Marigot to benefit as well and was hoping shops and the general public would be able to get some of Skerrits money. As far as Launch is concerned Karessa is a true patriot who knows he will even lose his deposit. In fact Karessa himself on the day of election will vote for Linton and the UWP.
Well Margot people will be very disappointed because they must have done a lot of shopping to see if they would not make a little dollar since
the have been so badly affected by the war of Skerrit on agriculture and on Marigot people on a whole. The so called launch of Karessa was nothing more than a way of spreading the COOL OUT money in Marigot, since Karessa outsmarted Skerrit already and got his own large portion to run, though I know Karessa himself will be voting for Linton. I really commend good actors and comedians like Joseph Isaac and Karessa, for putting out an impressive show on Skerrits own stage
We all should outsmart Skerrit like that. The man needs to be taught a lesson. Not everyone is for sale but let’s take his money and then vote for the country and UWP.
