Let us work together to build a better, stronger Dominica – Saint Jean

Dominica State College marches in the parade

Students from various primary and secondary schools on island gathered at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on Friday morning to participate in the 2018 National Independence Youth Rally.

One of the highlights of the event every year is a youth parade where students do a march past and the salute is taken by the Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister, Reginald Austrie represented Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit at today’s rally.

Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, Petter Saint who gave the featured address at the ceremony called on Dominicans to continue to work together to build a better and stronger Dominica.

“Let us therefore continue to work together for each other. Dominica is yours, Dominica is mine, Dominica is ours, let us work together to build a better and stronger Dominica,” he said.

In keeping with the theme for this year’s historic 40th Anniversary, “My Love, My Home, My Dominica”, Saint Jean called for each and every one to espouse the patriotic creed.

“I wish to reiterate the call for each and every one of us to espouse the patriotic creed, to celebrate our common bond and to see what individually we can to help develop and promote our beautiful nature isle,” he said.

Saint Jean exhorted Dominicans, when they speak on social media, to let the slogan, “ ‘I am Dominica are You’, be the hallmark of who we are as a people.”

He saluted the many outstanding Dominicans who have championed the cause of the Dominica youth in the areas of education and youth development over the past 4 decades.

“Indeed young people of Dominica we owe a debt of gratitude to these patriots,” he stated. “You are here today, the country needs you to hold the mantle and the build on the successes of yesterday’s today.”

He stated that the government and his ministry will continue to empower the youth, by proving them with greater opportunities towards self and professional development.

“But this will be in vain if you do not grab this opportunity with a firm grasp,” Saint Jean remarked.

Performances came from students of the Goodwill Secondary School, Convent High School, Afrikulture Stilt Walkers and Triple Kay band among others.

Special awards were also given in the areas of academics, sports, community involvement and leadership.

St. Jean, You and your band of thieves should be ashamed of the way you guys destroyed Dominica. Granted, you guys treated an Icon in Gordon Henderson like crap (read below) and you have the audacity to speak?

Happy 40th Anniversary to all who are proud to be called Dominicans. May Almighty God be praised for all He has brought us through the first few and troubled years of our youthful history. I pray He will be the guide and protector we need in the coming years. One question U must ask: What happened to the direct flight from Florida tgatcwas promised a few months ago? I live in Georgia and was prepared to drive down to Florida and get on that flight to celebrate with my people. Apparently that promise is lost in the scheme of things and so Dominicans living abroad have to celebrate by radio or other social media sources. Sad that at 40 we cannot come home without going to several places and put up with unnecessary delays to see and enjoy our beloved native land.

Talk, talk… coming together. Let me tell you Saint Jean, as long as the likes of you, Skerrit, Austrie, Issac, Baron and Blackmore are in charge of this country there won’t be any coming together. I for one and the majority of clear thinking Dominicans refuse to work with people that are corrupt, incompetent and notorious liars. But the day of reckoning is just around the corner. Skerrit will have an exit strategy! … but do you?

On this third of November marking the big 40th congratulations are in order. CONGRATULATIOONS TO ALL MY FELLOW DOMINICANS. Special thanks and appreciations must be given to our first Prime Minister, Hon Patrick John and our first High Commissioner His Excellency Arden Shillingford. Without their persistant efforts, dedication and hard work, there would be no celebrations today.
So comrades if you are not even recognize by your fellowmen, remember that your contribution was not in vain. You were working for Jesus to free his people from Colonial Bondage and will be rewarded by him. We can celebrate that we are no more called “subjects and objects” but DOMINICANS. Citizens of the Commonwealth of Dominica. Thanks and Praises to our Lord and our God…….JESUS.

St. Jean says: “Let us work together to build a better, stronger Dominica” . t. Jean for information we are fed up and we have been tirelessness to work together to kick you and your corru0t Labour government out of office that we build a better and stronger Dominica and the only way we can do this is by kicking you all Assets of government as soon as possible. We are the next generation and we do not wish to have you all leading us, because it is obvious that you all have failed the youth and young people. Your inept Prime Minister has failed us miserable over the past 18 years. You all had 18 years to build up a better Dominica, but you all have lied over the years on issues of our states money and resources and there has been too much said and confirmed of the Bin & Fertilizer Bobol your corrupt Labour government has been engaged in. As students, at your level and that of your failed government we suppose to see role models but seen acts of thievery. You all must Get lost…Shame…

“Deputy Prime Minister, Reginald Austrie represented Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit at today’s rally.”
What a shame! Don’t tell me Skerrit boycotted the youth parade. Wow! Skerrit didn’t feel he could inspire the future of Dominica? Could it be that because he knows he has destroyed the future of these young people as their future has been Escrowed to Communist China and Russia? I find it very strange that the PM did not grab the opportunity to inspire the young people of Dominica, at such an important juncture, especially less than a month after he got his so called doctorate. I find it very strange that Skerrit boycotted the youth rally, Now if Skerrit is very sick then I understand and take everything back. If he is somewhere answering questions from the US special team, then I also forgive him and take everything back. If a close family member of his passes then I forgive him. But other than that it’s worth asking WHY skerrit boycotted the young future of Dominica

“Let us therefore continue to work together for each other. Dominica is yours, Dominica is mine, Dominica is ours, let us work together to build a better and stronger Dominica,” he said.

Words are CHEAP, FREE and unaccounted for, especially in Dominica. First of all light and darkness cannot work together, neither can truth and deception or evil and Righteousness. These principles are profoundly taught in the bible, especially in the epistles of Paul. Apart from that the division we see is something orchestrated by the Prime Minister himself, so he could succeed with his evil plots. He know very well that if we were united he would not be able to get away with what he has been involved in, as Senior Counsel and Charles Savarin must have lectured him on how we got rid of Patrick John 40 years ago. Why you think a government would refuse to appear on Q95, even to the point of isolating Q with information during a storm? These guys are just hypocrites and liars man

Brother man allu had two decades to do that!! Not 10, 20 whole years, people born into allu koshone government and their only choice is to leave for any chance at real success. You know how many Dominicans die and go since then under that failure we calling DLP? Smfh, I hear skerrit say I’ll beat my fingers on keyboard for another 20 years, but that not a problem because I’m a fast typer.
