LIME working on full restoration of Service to affected customers

LIME_logoLIME is reporting significant progress in service restoration to customers and communities whose essential LIME services have been affected as a result of Tropical Storm Erika.

While some areas maintained service during and after the storm, other areas suffered extensive damage resulting in loss of service.

Recognizing the importance for communication in this critical time, LIME’s General Manager Jeffrey Baptiste says priority for his company is to restore service in the quickest possible time to all affected customers.

Mr. Baptiste says all available options are being employed in the restoration efforts including the air transportation of external resources into Dominica to assist.  “We have reached out to our regional counterparts and have on island over thirty regional technicians already deployed to support in the swift restoration of our network” said Mr. Baptiste.

A number of mobile sites are in commission including Roseau and environs, Goodwill, Stockfarm, Castle Comfort, Wallhouse, Loubiere, Canefield, Morne Daniel, Cochrane, Massacre, Mahaut, Morne Bruce, Morne Prosper & the valley, Pond Casse and surrounding communities, Castle Bruce, San Sauveur, Petite Soufriere and surrounding areas including Tranto, Dipa & Goodhope. The Carib territory, Bellevue Chopin, Pichelin, Giraudel and Eggleston are also functional. Melville Hall, Marigot and Concorde customers are also among those who now have mobile service.

Fixed line and internet customers in the various areas including Grand Bay, Pointe Michel, Canefield, Mahaut, the Valley, Goodwill, Fond Cole, Colihaut, Delices, Cochrane, Calibishi, Salisbury, Cottage, Bellevue Chopin, Carib Territory, San Sauveur, Castle Bruce and Pond Case are confirmed working.

Over 50% of service has been restored to date and LIME is committed to full restoration to customers in a timely manner. The company will continue to provide updates as they become available.

There is a place in Dominica called St Joseph that I think was washed out. I have grave concerns for the entire Country and feelings of sadness for the dead ones as well as the missing, their families and friends. Since Thursday I have been monitoring news from whatever source and have not heard one person mentioned the Village of St.Joseph or a member of the Government either. My calls have gone unanswered and I take it that the utilities are down. Can anyone please give some news? Thanking whoever does.
