Linton chastises government ministers for alleged sexual abuse

Political leader of the United Workers Party (UWP), Lennox Linton, has admonished members of the Roosevelt Skerrit led administration who he claims, are extorting sexual favors from women who come to them for assistance.

Speaking at the UWP “Youth In IT Too” rally at St Joseph on Sunday, Linton referred to the ministers who allegedly engage in such activities as rape and noted that there is no honor in a government who harbors them.

“There can be no honor in a government that harbors rapist ministers and upholds extortion of sexual services from young people seeking the facilitation of ministers to get personal development assistance from the public purse.”

The UWP leader has recently come under intense criticism from the Dominica Labour Party for his comments on this issue. DLP operatives claim that in his remarks, Linton is accusing young Dominican women  of “prostituting themselves” when they seek assistance from government ministers.

But according to Linton, the stories are countless and he referred to a young woman who reported that a minister of government “forced himself” on her when she went to him seeking assistance.

“There is a report, in the police station filed on the 19th June, 2013 by a young lady who was seeking assistance from a minister of government who asked her to come to his home and who at his home at 12:15 on that day, tried to force himself on her and these hypocrites in the government who condone that, they have their big people all around the country telling lies about Lennox Linton doh like women,” he told the St. Joseph gathering.

Linton added that he loves the women of Dominica and is disgusted when Ministers of Government “prostitute our young women for public assistance from the purse.”

He emphasized that he will stand for the women of Dominica and promised to ensure that such indignities never happen in the governance affairs of Dominica.

“When we cover up this disgraceful ministerial conduct where will we find the moral authority to ensure protection of our young people in particular from sexual abuse? Is it any wonder that we have gone nowhere very fast in resolving this national crisis, notwithstanding non-stop lip service from all quarters.”

Meanwhile, Linton said that the UWP will “rise” to ensure that the young people in Dominica are employed, independent and able to build sound foundations.

According to him, with a UWP government, young people aged 16 will be able to own a family vehicle license.

“We rise to enable our young people to have a family vehicle license from the age of 16 so that they will be empowered to have greater and more active participation in the nurturing, responsibilities of  family.”

He reminded supporters of the UWP’s promise to create 5000 new jobs in the first 3 years and said they will educate the citizens to become successful academics, professionals, tradesmen and women capable of competing and winning in the varied fields of global enterprise for self and for country.

“We rise to secure proper and affordable health care for all, we rise to ensure that our young people can earn and spend their own money we rise to ensure that they can easily afford to own their own homes, we rise to ensure that they’re building lives on the foundation of self respect, self esteem, trustworthiness and good citizenship.”

Linton also promised modern sporting and recreational facilities all around the country which would enable children and athletes to “benefit meaningfully from serious involvement in their choice of sporting disciplines.”

“Mr Linton you have two lawyers on your team why are they not advising you properly or you think your untouchable.you can only call a person a rapist when they are convicted of rape an allegation of rape is not a conviction of rape”(The Poppet Legal Advisor).

You wish to play some dirty politics even though you seems ignorant! If that’s the case I would like to remind you and specifically the ministers of the Labor Party Government, of a company which once operated in Dominica under the fictitious name as “The Shine Company.”

May I ask you pseudo lawyer; where is the Shine Company today? If you will allow me I well tell you they fled Dominica, and are now operation on two other Caribbean islands, doing more business than they did in Dominica; hence, they have grown larger than when they were in Dominica. Now do you or any of the labor party ministers, want to know under what circumstances they left Dominica? To answer that I could advised that you ask Julius Timothy who was in the center of all the false allegations levied against one of the owners of the Shine Company.

Just incase the government and Timothy, and many of their supports has forgotten: The Labor Party, all of those who are in government right now created an sex scandal which never existed; it never happened, nevertheless, the members of the Labor Party accused the owner, a woman who weighed less than a hundred and ten pounds of having sexual intercourse with every minister of the UWP Government, except Edison James, and they the members of the Labor Party, had a humiliating reason for him not participating sex escapade.

And what was the reason for this lie, and scandal? They the Labor Party claimed that the woman had sex with them all, Timothy included; and as her reward, of having given so much sex, she was allowed to remove her imported commodities (goods) from the government custom without paying the tariffs due.

In the final analysis it was found out the lady paid her duties and taxes, however, the money was stolen by relatives of some of the same serving ministers this very day, whom were never prosecuted by the police. As I said Timothy was the main target of the false slanderous campaign, as a result he lost his seat, finally was appointed as minister of medicine (health) in the Labor Party Government.

The moral here is a false scandal was created, the name of government ministers in the UWP government was named, not one of them was sued, nevertheless, there are those who are talking about sue; this a double standards; knowing that what Lennox has drawn to the attention of the nation is happening everyday in the country. Now be reminded, Francisco knows what I am saying, and I do it without fear, and could careless about those who does not like my views.

      May 28, 2014

@FDT since you’re talking double standards wasn’t the UWP the first to run with Ministers who has dual citizenship?? few years later they take the DLP to court for allegations of the SAME???

      • Francisco Telemaque
        May 28, 2014

Let me say this; I am not here arguing about whom has dual citizenship, and who have not! You are mixing apples, oranges, and mangos together. They are all considered fruits; however, they are certainly of a different species.

What we have here is something that involves the sexual abuse of poor and helpless women in our country, who are violated by these politicians simply because the women reached out to them for help. That is wrong; that is disgraceful, and its a crime; it is a felony by any stretch of your imagination!

That is the concern at the moment. As for people with dual citizenship serving in our government, I am in favor of that; since most of our more capable citizens reside out of Dominica, maybe if given the opportunity they could do a much better job than the waste of time people we elect to serve in our government. I would also like those who are not born Dominicans given the opportunity to serve in government also.

And by that I mean the Chines, who even if their citizenship is bought!

They may have a different mentality to that of the Dominica born, and might just have a different vision which they could put into action and get Dominica moving forward. Do not confuse a predatory behavior, of the politicians at home with someone who has dual citizenship serving in government. And if you are referring to Ron Green, and Edison James who claimed he had knowledge of Green’s dual citizenship I do not see anything wrong with that.

What I found rediculous, was when Ron complained about Skerrit’s and Petter dual citizenship, when he knows he was in violation of the law also. How can one cry foul when they are also involved in the stench?

Linton must also caution Dominican young women about presenting themselves properly. Lots of them go to business and government offices ‘to speak’ to the boss but the dressing makes you wonder. It is also a shame that many have put a very low price on their heads, like a $5 top up for example? An equally great out cry is their willingness to sell their bodies for weave, a car (if lucky) and heels from married, single or divorced men.

Rape and Sexual Abuse are not the same thing my dear. Rape is a violent form of sexual abuse, but not all sexual abuse is rape. If someone is raped, then describing it as sexual abuse sort of softens the impression.

    May 27, 2014

These Government minister or ministers who are”RAPISTS” need to be brought to court one way or the other.
Silence on Government’s part after an accusation of this magnitude might be seen as admission of guilt.
No further action on behalf of the “RAPE victims” by UWP would imply that this is gutter politics on their part.

So Dominicans need to see, hear the evidence.

This has the potential to elevate Lennox Linton to PM or end his forray into the political arena.

Where is the report in which Linton is “chastised” for calling our Dominican women “P-R-O-S-T-I-T-U-T-E-S ?
This is not an “allegation” because I heard the speech in full context.
Abusing women (or men) sexually or otherwise because you are in a position of Power is wrong and condemnation should be only the the first stage of more serious punishment.
But moving the focus from the perpetrator(s) to the possible victims is not only unacceptable, but an unwise political move.
The attempt by Mr Linton at the St Joseph rally to rephrase his overseas statement without first acknowledging and apologizing for it, is unwelcome.

Will somebody, priest, Bishop , Pastor tell Tony and his lap dogs to stop this nonsense. Now if these people of stature don’t call for a demarcation line on this issue then it is ripe to say that we are a lost people. On an issue so important to our society – the importance of civility and the respect for women as essential to any peaceful and thriving society . At a time when over 200 young girls had been captured for slavery and even our government came out and condemn the despicable act out of Nigeria here it is that operatives of the same Labor Party government, Tony and ilk is twisting Linton’s statement to say that he called Dominican women prostitutes when there are countless stories of young women being abused by ministers and operatives of the labor Party government. I know of a young woman who was repeatedly abused by a minister just for a job. I know so because she confided in me.
How can reasonable people or reasonable Laborites sit by and go with Tony’s flow only to say this is politics. Are you kidding me. I do hope that when the problem that Tony Astaphan is nurturing gets on your door steps some of you supporters wont ask ” why my daughter , niece, or sister”
I sincerely hope that someone with a conscience within the Labor Party base stop Tony , Lennox Lawrence etc. I don’t expect a mea culpa from a man who is exhibiting melancholic type symptoms. I expect that an influential supporter of the Labor Party will step forward and say no to this erratic behavior of Tony Astaphan.
As it is we don’t expect the police officers to speak out cause the police themselves are forced to look the other way even when official reports have been made against government ministers. I also don’t expect to hear from Alix Boyde Knight who claim to be a champion for women’s the proper and equal treatment of women but I expect to hear condemnation from father Thomas, peter Augustine etc.
When Tony and others twisted the Needy and Greedy statement many laborites on DNO were happy to take this Tony crap and run with it. Now the Laborites believe that some points may have been attained but this time be sure that this straw will break the Labor Party back and Tony astaphan will sit and kickback in his gated community home in Florida.

If such is the case about the ministers, the women should report it and not be enticed to go to any of their homes. If the women agree, then they should know what this would entail. They are encouraging. If they got an invitation to go to the home they should not do so. Follow your morals of dignity if you have any.
If this type of behavior has come to the attention of the PM, he should call a meeting and address the issue. He should chastise the perpetrators and even fire the culprits, informing them that he hopes this type of immoral behavior will never recur. They are tarnishing the reputation of their government. It has absolutely nothing personal to do with the PM.
Linton must provide the names of all concerned. He should not merely throw words at his gathering which will cause them to believe all what he stated is gospel truth.
There is a diplomatic manner of handling this situation and it is to communicate with the PM in writing, informing hm of what he has heard and present proof that such indeed took place.
Pertaining to the youths, the 16 year-olds, promising them vehicles, well, they would love that. Which 16 year-would not? Encourage them to stay in school, study diligently and to be obedient to their parents, teachers and the Law. This is better than promising them vehicles at that age.
Yes! They do need to be attentive to their studies, to graduate and then seek employment for a well-paying and stable job. If they are gainfully employed, they will be the beneficiaries and their tax dollars will help to boost the economy.

  35. Simply the Truth
    May 26, 2014

On the topic of crimes, Linton has not brought up this issue. His supporters unfairly blame the PM for these rash of crimes/ murders when he is not responsible for them.
Linton, in view of safety in D/ca, what are your plans to at least try to eradicate crimes in D/ca? If there are few crimes and atrocious ones, if none at all, more visitors as also tourists will visit Dominica.
As it stands, even some D/cans fear visiting their own country. This does not mean where they reside are free of crimes but D/ca being a small country, they do feel that everyone should have love and respect for one another as it were in those days.
Some of those criminals are bold and brazen and have no regard for the Law and law enforcers. Therefore, crimes should be addressed and not lay that burden on the PM.
Everyone is responsible and accountable for their country, their environment and to help to eradicate crimes in the country. It should not fall (solely) on the back of the PM. He has the Law Enforcement Department to handle those situations. Co-operation is necessary from one and all.
An election is near and all Parties are aiming for as many votes as they possibly could. Address issues which affect D/ca, what is lacking in Dominica and will enhance D/ca. Less criticisms and lambasting. Be equitable and broadminded about them.
As a saint said among other godly sayings of saints (Yes! A saint who loved and served God to the fullest), “You cannot heal yourself by harming others.” Keep this godly virtue in mind that you might be successful in your endeavors.
God bless Dominica! God bless the unenlightened with enlightenment to speak the truth and stand up for the truth in harmony and peace. Blessings for those who act accordingly.

Here are my speculations: 1. Could it be that they do not want to give UWP any opportunity to make mileage? 2. Could it be that they got threatened by the DLP so they had to stop it? 3.Looking at their news items today both about the chastisement Lennox gave and the arson case in marigot, you know DLP was going to get blows today. So could it be damage control? 4. Is it that DNO is understaff and had no time today? If that’s the case then maybe they need to check Skerro for the NEP program. 5. I know Linton will not say things that he cannot prove. This is not a new problem in Dominica. Dominica is full of pedofiles and if many men are honest, they know that it is the truth. These men are very adulterous, those who are not married are fornicators. Since it is such a small community we remain hush, hush. Poor people feel helpless and lower their morals to those who have the power. Dominica may say that it is a Christian country but it is not without sin. If you are weak, you are a “gonna”. It takes two to consent. One is not to be excused. Women should not place themselves in such situations and then they shout sexual abuse and rape. They should not sell their bodies for a few dollars. If this occurred to them, they should report it so that it does not happen to others.

If the women are adults they should know better not to satisfy those men’s sexual desires and egos and go out with them or to their homes.
If per chance this ends up in Court, they will be quizzed about it and have to give evidence how this all started, were they invited and their reaction to the invitation.
This is the reason why some prefer to keep quiet about it. It will be a shame for them to divulge it for they were a party to the act. The best thing they should do is not to accept such an invitation.

Pedro, you too must be careful what you state. Address the issue of this article. The saying, “Be sure brain is engaged before putting mouth in gear.” Linton should take this advice. Too late for his outspoken accusations which could land him in hot water.
Prior to making such a statement you must think. Every country has unemployment, based on the population and will always have unemployed people and the poor. The situation is not getting better.
Our Lord Jesus Christ acknowledged that when He said, “You will always have the poor . . .” and He has taught us to help the poor.
Be careful of the stones that you throw verbally. God will judge us for our words if we make statements that are contrary to what He taught us and which are irrelevant to this article. There is a lot of this in the comments of many on this Website. Comment on what you know is correct.
You cannot blame the government for everything. Some of those people may never have completed high school or elementary school for that matter. Some may never have made the effort to seek employment and there are more reasons.
Therefore, Pedro, you should conduct a research to find out why those people are unemployed in the first place. You will be amazed of your findings and will never blame the government for their unemployed status and reason for being given financial assistance. They have to eat as others. They cannot be left to starve. Need I state more?

For crying out loud, how on earth the Labourites of our society, community and country as a whole, support known ministers who are sexual assault offenders, rapists, money launderers and all sorts of corruption practices, to continue to serve in public office with impunity?

Every good citizen knows that there’s something fundamentally wrong about our people not standing for what is right. Only in Dominica this madness is allowed and life goes on. For this “Lougaoo Mem” shall not sit idle by while truth to power is extinguished by the forces of evil lead by a bunch of corrupted politicians.

Dominicans, if you do not stand for what is right, especially when it is against your own pride, morale values, interests and the dignity of our daughters and women, then, the whole world has every reason to think of us as a lawless nation that lost its moral principles.

When people come out in such numbers to support an opposition party so far ahead of general elections, this smells trouble for a government in power. Because people who support the opposition are present by their own free will, they are openly defying the government to let them know that enough is enough.
On the flip side of the coin, those who follow the government in most cases do so because they want to be seen to get part of the spoils. I see many opportunists with red flags only to show off, but if Team Dominica seems to be winning these red flags will disappear.

There has always been sexual predators in high place in Dominica for quite sometime. Government ministers, as well as Principals of school; the ones we call head teachers. I was informed by someone who was a teacher in Dominica, who some old Education Officer; now deceased forced himself on her.

The sucker was past his prime, if you know what I mean; hence, he failed to accomplish his goal, and blamed it on been tired. We know of cases in Dominica where so called medical doctors has sedate women, and while they are helplessly asleep they were raped by these animals who practice in the medical field.

The weapon these politicians use against the young women these days is the wanting of a job, so they promise the women: I will ensure you a job for just a little bit of sex. How low can a human get using his position of power to humiliate the women they pretend they wish to help? That sort of conduct is no secret in Dominica.

The funny thing is that the victims of such crimes remain crying inside in silent; even when they know they are violated. Some of these women are supposedly married, how can a politician put a married woman in an uncomfortable position like that, and expect her to go home and face, and live with her husband.

A lot of these moral-less politicians should be exposed, women should realize it is the poverty in Dominica which puts them in a position to reach out for help from these vicious flesh craving animals, and when they force themselves on them while seeking help, they should run out of their office, house or in the bush, wherever they are and scream murder, in order to attract the attention of people; and go to the police.

Make a stench of the situation; where the police must investigate, and take criminal actions against these sick sex addicted animals who calls themselves politicians!

On monelle she not speaking the truth her own co-workers she was warned several times for lateness she got several warning letters for that get your facts before you come to conclusions.

    • Francisco Telemaque
      May 27, 2014

Legal advisor: You may be a bush lawyer, but you have no clue; if you had read the article carefully, you would have noticed that Lennox has not mentioned the name of any politician in all that he said. Why would someone need two lawyers to advised him on making the comments, when he has not named anyone in his allegations.

He has not alleged, any particular politician by name is involved, though we know for a fact, such conduct has been perpetrated on young women in the country. You all can cry wolf, but hope when a flood of women comes out naming the offenders you all will not be so quick to talk about law suite, and lawyers.

Look that is a popular thing in the Caribbean, someone in Antigua tried that with my former Antigua born wife. I can say his name. I will not do say it because this concerns Dominica and not Antigua, nevertheless, it hypocritical for anybody in Dominica to pretend that such has never happened, or it is not happening.

We can dress up the politicians in white robes from head to feet, and put a gold crown on their heads, that will not wash away their sins of corruption, and perversion. It is happening; where it pertains to doctors raping young women, we know of one case where a young woman from Grand Bay went to visit with a doctor, who sedated her and raped her; she woke only to find this so called doctor on top of her.

He settled out of court. Why are you people in denial; if you cannot face the truth do something about: stop it before it happen; however when someone is violated they should not keep it in secret, the criminals must be exposed. This might be one of the reasons why in Dominica the law protects rapist, and pedophiles!

In a normal country, the prime minister would have resigned for this disgraceful alleged acts placed on his cabinet. But in Dominica, it’s no big deal. In a normal country, the CHURCH would have preached sermons upon sermons on immorality and would call rally’s to address these sins; but in Dominica the will say Skerrit is sent by God. In a normal country if the Prime minister did not fire anyone and did not resign over these alleged transgressions the people would not even wait until election day to fire them. But in Dominica it’s all about “No law , no constitution…” and hense we are now seeing the fruits and effects of no law, no constitution is having on our society.

“In a normal country” the Prime Minister would have done everything within his power to independently and honestly investigate this matter, and let the results be known to the public. But it’s over one year now since this thing is in public and neither the PM nor the Commissioner are saying a thing. I wonder WHY? In a normal country the Hon. Prime Minister would have fired every Minister involved. But in Dominica it’s life as normal. I wonder why? In another country the headline of this article would not read: “Linton chastises government ministers for alleged sexual abuse” but would instead read” “The Prime Minister used his 18-3 power to fire ministers whose names were mentioned in sexual disgrace.” But in Dominica it’s Lennox.

On Wednesday night in St. Marteen, Political Leader of the UWP told a crowd of chanting supporters that “Young ladies were prostituting themselves” in Dominica for handouts from the public purse. For effect, he spelt the word “P-R-O-S-T-I-T-U-T-I-N-G”. The clear explanation or meaning is that our young girls in Dominica have resorted to prostitution from government ministers for favors coming mostly from the state treasury. Of course the rest is history. He has been under intense fire for his remarks in St. Marteen. Some even called for an apology. Not being a person of humble disposition, Mr. Linton went to St. Joe, four days later and turned his tongue to great effect. He told our ladies that he loved them – all the ladies of Dominica and that he knew of many instances, even citing a date in 2013, where ministers of government were prostituting our girls for favors. You see the twist of the tongue, the order of the words? The literal understanding of the St. Marteen Declaration is that “young girls were prostituting (PROSTITUTING) themselves for favors from the public purse”. That cannot by any stretch of the imagination come to mean what was said in St. Joe that “minister’s of government prostituting our young ladies” or words to that effect. I have said it before, and it is worth repeating. history have recorded that some (not all) of the brightest and most articulate speakers are not genuine. They often use a multiplicity of words to create an impression, to build trust and admiration – only to deceive. Check it out.

By the way, I appeal to ministers of government! If you are “prostituting” our young girls, then stop it. It is simple as that.

One is left to wonder why when Lennox Linton says those degrading things about people of the country and the people voice their concern, UWP supporters and Q95, tend to be very protective of Lennox, saying what Lennox said was taken out of context and when is someone else in the DLP what they say are taken in context by the same UWP supporters.
For example: Austrie said, Monelle likes cow meat…Gisel, Q95, and UWP supporters made a big issue out of that until Women’s Council got involved.
Today, Lennox Linton is spelling out the word Prostituting to the youths and women of Dominica telling them they are prostituting themselves to ministers of Government for help.
Of the two sayings above, which is worst?
    Someone likes cow meat; or
    People prostituting themselves for help?
Lennox knows that a prostitute is a whore(noun).
To offer one self or another for sexual hire is prostituting(verb).

What is the name of the ministers? Call there names or shut up. Where is the evidence?

    • May 27, 2014

They know who they are, no need to call their names, like it or not the truth alway hurt

I know of a few young girls, I spoke with one, what she told me is that, since she left college she submitted several resumes and to no avail, when I ask her what is the reason she said it’s because of some of her family members who are supporters of the UWP, she said that she met with her
PR, asking for his assistance with her job help twice and they were suppose to meet a third time which she turned down, reason was the second time they met he was asking her if she have man, if she live with her parent, to she where he was heading she said no she is on her own, them he told her that they can meet one evening at her place that’s the only way he will be able to help her, she said no to him, she called him, up to this day no reply from him

With that said, what was his intention, just asking?, what the ministers need to know they were elected to do other work, but not to work on young girls to get them jobs, send them to study outside of DA and the list goes on, you keep hearing some of the young girls saying that they have to do what they have to do with the minister, because that’s the only way in Dominica today, this is so sad, what a shame

So this is the pathetic escuse for refering to Dominican women as ‘prostitutes’ Mr. Linton??? UWP is now showing increased desperation with these statements. If you have the facts why not name the minister (s), or are you afraid of paying for your tongue?? All the more reason why you blues will pay again at the polls,. just you wait and see. I suspect the coming victory by the DLP is going to be the sweetest yet!!

    • Unbelievable

Anyone in their right mind who listened to or read what Mr. Linton said cannot interpret it as a reference to Dominican women as prostitutes. This is a deliberate attempt to mislead people. Please, stop that.

@ Anonymous: I am a Dominican woman and at no time did I hear him call Dominican women prostitutes!!!! You all can bury your head in sand and spin all you want but it’s in front of your faces and no amount of misrepresentation will change the FACT it is going on. Some of you are offended because you will bend over for any male dog for a dollar, no scrupples, no values. NOBODY is referring to the likes of you and your ilk. People are standing up for those who are forced into these compromising situations. Any exchange of money, job, food for sexual pleasure is prostitution. DEAL WITH THAT!! Epi di Zot tot sans honte.

Let us Dominicans be serious for once in our lives. The Island of Dominica must be the only English speaking country in the world, where a Government Minister can be accused of being a rapist and the Minister still holds his job without even a suspension pending an investigation. The Prime Minister has so far not even made a comment, neither has the Government’s Press Secretary satisfy the people of Dominica that the Minister of Government is innocent. Instead, we have two lawyers who are not Ministers of Government spinning better then Shane and Narine. Remember last November during the Independent Day Parade boycott, Skeritt claimed the Youth of Dominica had supported his Government by turning out in large numbers, well, what a difference a year makes. I hope he followed the UWP Team Dominica Youth Rally held at St. Joe yesterday.

1 – The welfare department should launch an investigation into this right away – especially since they’ve been doing and excellent job of lip-service lately, now is the perfect time to put talk into action!

    2. The men who are convicted, should be named and shamed. And for those of them who have girlfriends or wives or whatever – these women should also take a stand for other women.

Why do men do these things? I use to believe that it was impossible for a man who is married and probably has a mistress to still want sex elsewhere – and even worst, use the public’s purse to satisfy their selfish desires!

Linton was absolutely and totally on fire last night. OH HOW GOOD AND ELOQUENT AN ORATOR THE MAN IS. I thought he was superb in Tortola, but last night, at St Joe, the man made me SO VERY PROUD TO BE A DOMINICAN, with his eloquence, clarity of thought, choice of words, etc. He is a consummate public speaker. I
    LIKE THAT
    I REALLY LIKE THAT
    I REALLY REALLY LIKE THAT
Well Skerrit asked for Linton. IN STAMMERING STYLE, that was what Skerro said: “Go remove you journalist coat and Come into the ring.” “Just tell me where Lennox Linton will be contesting and i will go all out to make sure that he loses his deposit”. Skerrits gullible ones were giggling and clapping like little children. NOW THE SAME LENNOX LINTON IS DRIVING HIM MAD. poor Fellow. His hair is dropping!
I absolutely and totally condemn in very strong and catogoric terms anyone who is prepared to prey on the poor people of this land. It’s because of their POVERTY that they need help. If the allegations are true these ministers CASTRATED IN PUBLIC, JAILED AND BARRED FROM TAKING PART IN POLITICS FOREVER. But Linton (the great orator) also sent a strong message to the Labour Pasrty SPIN DOCTORS, ACOLYTES, FANATICS, GREEDIES, ETC to quote him properly, because these people have the tendancy to play with words to suit them.
    THE CROWD WAS MAMMOTH
    LINTON WAS ON FIRE
    MONNEL WAS SUPERB!
    ST JOE WAS GREAT!
Come on Team Dominica, keep on tightening the rope around them wicked INSULTIVE AND EVIL ones feet. THE EVIL THAT THEY HAVE DONE to Dominica and its people, IS NOW COMING BACK TO HAUNT THEM.
    HOW LONG?
    NOT LONG!

DNO all i can say is what sensationalized headline. of all the many things that were spoken about this is the headline you choose to put. Thats why i do not fancy the media. its all about sensationalism, money, fame etc

  103. May 26, 2014

I don’t think this is the first allegation of sexual extortion by our public representatives. When these things come up I’d like to see more investigation both by law-enforcement and independent journalism.

If there are legitimate cases of this then the women should be more vigilante and record the conversations so that they have more to stand on. These things can’t remain hidden.

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty this just an accusation but at the same time Sir is there not a term as to calling the kettle black cause it is said that your DCP had to pay a good amount of money on your behalf, you claim the young people are prostituting themselves to Ministers but Sir again these people have their right to do what they please with their selves which am sure they don’t do that one or two may well fall through the crack but to say they all do that is a shame to say that. It is alleged that a member of your team transferred funds from an account he was trusted to manage and land that was to be own and sold by DAAS is in his name so if we all think the way you we can say then it is true cause just like the minister you chastised it is just an allegation.

I am just wondering aloud how many more allegged mistakes are out there ! I know you have never thought of it this way have you? The very low comment rating shows that most readers already know that Mr Linton’s departure from DCP had nothing to do with sexual abuse.
It probably also indicates that they know of the talk of accusations of inappropriate sexual advances being levied against Mr Linton, whilst he was a DCP manager/Supervisor
