“Learn to Read, Read to Learn.”
That was the theme of the Bagatelle Primary School’s Literacy Day which was held on Friday march 23, 2012.
The day began with a general assembly conducted by some students, followed by a reading session where various people from the community read stories to the children.
The afternoon session included several activities such as spelling competitions, choral readings, poetry recitals, drama, dance and song done by the students of the different classes.
The public was also given the opportunity, during the day, to view the work of the students and a power point presentation of the students and teachers at work.
Activities also included the reopening of the school’s newly refurbished library.
The day ended with a treasure hunt where the students were placed in groups to find the hidden treasure.

Reading this article and their achievements brought to my mind during my youth I loved reading to this day. This was attributed to my father of all who also loved reading. I recall that he would read the newspapers and other newsletters and place them on the table. I would then read them. Only today I thought that reading is indeed an education. I also keep note of educational and religious matters of what I hear and read.
I have met some people who do not like reading, even religious matters and I thought, how sad they are missing out on a lot. These people remain in their ignorance of also the truth. When you meet them they have absolutely nothing constructive to talk about.
Youth, keep it up. Read educational matters which will enhance your overall knowledge and pass them on. This pertains to good TV information. This will tell a lot about you. God bless!
