Javid Alfred from Wall House, who was arrested and charged last week for shooting Akenton Mohammed at Fond Cole, has been granted a bail in the sum of EC$30,000.
He was charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Alfred appeared in court on Tuesday, 23rd April 2019 and as part of his bail conditions, was asked to report to police headquarters every Wednesday, between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. The accused has also been ordered not to change his address in Wall House without informing the court and not to interfere with witnesses in the case.
The trial is set for September 20th, 2019.
Justice really doesn’t exist in this country. A gun crime.. If it was a police officer that made an error of judgment going after criminals like the accused you would have seen… That country boy….. Hmmm
Wow you know the young children are looking. recently a primary aged child said he can bring his knife to school because is two weeks he will spend in jail.
Imaging the charge is not attempted murder. What a country
The offenses of intent to cause grievous bodily harm and attempted murder both carry the same penalty while the former is easier to prove. Bail is the transfer of an accused from the custody of the state to the custody of the surety and so we’r should not be upset at the granting of bail
Wow! While I understand that bail is not meant to convey the innocence of one charged with a crime, I am disappointed that after such a violent gun crime this man would be allowed bail. Sometimes, I wonder what these magistrates are thinking.
Dominica court system is a joke!!!
