Ministry of Trade: No need to fear, there’s enough fuel to meet motorists’ demand until next shipment

Vehicles lined up at a gas station in Roseau

The Ministry of Trade and Commerce is seeking to reassure the public that a gas shortage in Dominica is not imminent.

In a statement released today, the Ministry says it “has been made aware that over the last few days there has been an unusually high demand for gasoline, some of which has been as a result of fear of a possible shortage.”

Over the past few days, word of a possible shortage of gasoline on the island prompted long motorists to form long queues at some gas stations in Roseau as they tried to get whatever was available at the pumps.

However, the Ministry of Trade, in its statement, is seeking to allay such fears insisting the current stocks of gasoline and diesel are enough to last until the next shipment of fuel arrives.

“The General Public is therefore informed that the current stocks of gasoline and diesel, which are available island wide, are sufficient to meet consumers’ demand until the arrival of the next shipment on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Please be guided accordingly,” the release concludes .

There is no smoke without fire! Dominicans should not forget that! Furthermore, since when can Dominicans rely on promises made by their government or their CM? I say: throw this corrupt lot out!!! Snap Elections, my foot!

But what about recent reports of gasoline being contaminated with water?
