Digicel Dominica has announced over the weekend that the company has welcomed Marva Williams as its new Marketing Manager effective August 5, 2022.
Marva Williams enters the Digicel family having worked within the entertainment and tourism industry for over 15 years. She grew up the ladder, starting as a Clerk typist at Dominica Festivals Committee and later, Festival and Events Manager of Discover Dominica Authority.
Over the years, Marva has successfully refined her skills in project management, event planning, public speaking, content creation, relationship management, and team building. Her successes include the implementation of signature events like the World Creole Music Festival, which realized an approximately 100% growth rate in attendance for the 2019 edition and reconceptualizing the Jazz ‘n Creole product offering features. She has been instrumental in developing Dominica’s Carnival by redefining key marketing concepts, and through the creative production of the Miss Dominica Pageant and street parades. Under her portfolio, she also introduced a new, well-perceived event – SunRise, on Carnival Friday.

Marva recently attained a Master of International Business degree from Georgia State University. She completed her undergraduate degree at Florida International University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. She is certified in Sales and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Regional Branding and Marketing, Data Literacy, and Human Subjects Research.
She has represented Dominica overseas, for the promotion of signature events. Marva is a cultural enthusiast – in 2007, she was awarded by the National Youth Council for developing culture and heritage in Dominica. She has functioned as a member of the Dominica Independence committee, assisting in the development of the Independence calendar annually.
Marva has been dubbed, ‘Dominica’s Entertainment Boss’ by Emage Magazine, an ‘Event Guru” by Emo News, and received accolades from the public for her notable achievements. Marva is excited to be a new face in the Digicel family and looks forward to the mutual sharing of knowledge, skills, and further enhancement of Digicel’s services in Dominica and beyond.
Following Marva’s acceptance of the Job, Digicel Dominica’s CEO, Shervin Bruno commented, “I am excited to welcome such a strong and accomplished personality to our team. Marva is a marvelous woman .. Digicel is lucky, in my opinion , to have her. However… what you really need – If I may be so bold- is a new technical manager to deal with these numerous outages and drop outs which you never seem to be able to find a rebate for in your budgets for. And maybe a Dominica based call centre. Maybe a better web portal … or even some better value phones.
