New playground is ‘an important facility for the young children’, says PM

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said the new playground which was officially commissioned in the community of Penville over the weekend will be an important place for the children of that community. The facility is said to be a symbol of hope and joy for the children of Penville, and also a testament to the Government of the People’s Republic of China’s commitment to development in Dominica.

“This is an important facility for the young children,” he said. “While it is being set up they started using it, and so it tells you how excited they are for this playground.”

Skerrit continued, “My hope is that the parents will not only send their children, but they will come as well to look after their children and to ensure they are safe and are enjoying themselves.”

According to him, it will be a family-friendly atmosphere. Furthermore,  the Prime Minister pointed out that the next phase of the project is to construct a gazebo at the facility.

“So that when parents come they can sit and watch their children using the playground,” he revealed. “That will start in the next couple of weeks.”

Meanwhile, Skerrit said the intention is to construct playgrounds in every single constituency across Dominica.

“The intention there, is to have one such playground in every single constituency across Dominica, so that we can encourage our young children and families to get out from their homes, away from the television, away from the gadgets and devices, to enjoy themselves and to build physical state,” Skerrit noted.

He added, “While this ceremony is a very simple one, it has far-reaching positive implications for the children, for the community, and for the entire family.”

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. John John 10:10.
He may look and sound as an angel of light but his agenda is always the same

According to Jesus above, Satan’s mission is threefold 1. To steal 2. To kill 3. To destroy . So no matter the sweet talks of Satan just remember he is there to steal, kill and destroy

Why plastic when we have nature? Why not more parklands, gardens and easy, educational walking trails? Create small adventure parks for children in every village instead of importing all this Chinese plastic (Melissa).

I totally agree Lucas. But if we must have “playgrounds” in every single constituency across Dominica, off the top of my head I can suggest a score of playground fixtures that can be devised from the materials and skills we have right here in Dominica.

Furthermore, my suggestions would encourage creative play, as against short term thrills.

I don’t know Penville very well, though I am from Vieille case. But I hope this playground is built not too far from the Penville five that perished recently and were all buried in Penville. I say so because the children should not only remember the playground their pm and China gave them but they should also remember that five of their young men died in a car crash and were all buried in Penville and, their beloved pm attended that funeral and wept. These young children should remember that the accident took place on a Sunday morning and their beloved PM was the airport, on his way out of Dominica and he couldn’t cancel the trip

So we have China’s hospital, Chinese schools, Chinese healthcare, Chinese playground, Chinese international airport, Chinese road etc. But guess what we have not seen or heard of that Skerrit doesn’t give credit to China for? I guess Chinese funeral home and burial ground and trust me they coming too
