Welcome to the Next Level. Things are certainly improving daily. We are a resilient bunch and we will get through this fire just like we get through all the unsolved murders on the island that the relevant authorities are unable to resolve.

The warnings about the danger of the inhalation of the toxic fumes are welcome but came a bit too late as many people have become victims of this manmade crisis. There are so many things in the country which need rectifying. The present administration is not proactive and much too slow to react to adverse circumstances. Healthcare, infrastructure, proper locations of landfills, minimum wage, stimulation of the economy, public service and electoral reforms are to be given priority. The current regime is wasting revenue on payment to high-price foreign lawyers to PERSECUTE (not prosecute) their opponents on trumped up charges. Also to pay salaries to an over bloated, pot bellied government who does nothing more than to castigate and revile members of the main opposition political party. This current government has forced too many citizens to live on the periphery of life.

This most likely is a chemical fire. When certain chemicals interact with each other, they create fire and that is why hazardous materials are supposed to be disposed of separately. Do we have a hazardous materials disposal policy? If not, one needs to be implemented and our people need to heed the policy. Otherwise, we will continue to have these.

This fire is just a preview to see how resilient we are as we get ready for the 2019 hurricane season as well as an election year. Did Skerrit name 13 New candidates? Is his wife Melissa one of the 13 new candidates to run in the heart of the capital? Also, do we have 21 constuencies? Well folks check this out: MELISSA is Skerrit candidate; Melissa is the number 13 named storms and there are 21 named storms. Is this coincidental or we just getting an early warning? So Melissa will clean sweep the election just as Maria did. Wow ! I notice that there are more ladies names than men. Does that mean that the party with the most ladies will clean sweep the election. Wow! Also the first name is Andrea and the last name is Wendy. Wow ! Open and shut winning case for Melissa’s party. Wow ! I also notice the name Fernand in the mix. Do you know that it is a female Dominican patois name. It means formidable and strong. Wow! Are we looking at a 21 to 0 victory by the formidable and strong DLP . A clean sweep like Maria, and Mamma Mia of Barbados. Maria,….Melissa ….. Mia….triple M. ….hearttt trickkk.
They say three in a row is called a “heart trick”. Can three in a row “heart trick” be equated to Skeerrit’s three election victories. You know they call Chris Paul of the Houston Rockets C P 3. Will Skerrit be called R S 3. for 3 election victories Or R S 15 for 15 years in power ((only 5 more years to go )

The ODM and Fire should know this fire is either as a result of Climate Change or the coup of Skerrit. Remember JI was accused of being part of the coup, so now he is dumped in Roseau North, where we dump our useless garbage I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

They do not have a clue as to what should be done!
They are rolling around like headless chickens!
    A colony of failures!
Where is JI the crook? Is he on the hills planting 1000 000 trees?
    Skerrit should dismiss him!

Who wants to get vex please feel free to! I have no doubt in my mind that fire 🔥 was started deliberately for political purpose as if to make Mr Skerrit government look bad. And if anyone has any information please please please contact the police. There are some people that would do anything to get a glass of Rum 🥃 in Dominica.

So @ man bite dog, are you suggesting the candidate Skerrit dumped in Roseau North might know something about the fire then, since he was the first one to get arrested by Skerrit when Roseau was set on fire?

    • Ibo France
      February 24, 2019

Rumormongering and speculations can be very dangerous. Allow the relevant authorities do their investigations and then make their report based on their findings. Skerrit has already made himself infamous globally, there is no need for anyone to even attempt to add fuel to the flames. Let’s just hope the fire burn itself out as soon as possible. I empathize with the affected communities especially the people with respiratory problems.

@ the man that biting dog, all you not tired of blaming people when things go wrong? Do you know something about the fire and who did it for political purpose? You need to give the information you have to inspector Mills so he could get some work to do man. Can any failure make Skerrit look bad? His government FAILED and Skerrit tried to fool laborites in thinking if 7 ministers that failed. He killed the Banana industry and all you blamed it on Black sigatoka. Skerrit and his advisors moved Ross to Barbados and all you blamed his failure on Maria. They were dinning and sleeping with Monfared, while he was on interpole wanted list and when people called on him to resign he blamed the opposition and began to arrest them. Man all you seeing the failures of Skerrit and how he putting Dominica in a deep dark hole yet, all you try to blame innocent people for everything.

      February 24, 2019

You are probably right cause is Skerrit habit start stuff and say he knows who did it to try arrest opposition. He always know who dod it without giving evidence to police. It has been a habit of his every time election is near. For once you and I on same page. Yes the man in the valley said it best when he boasted of buying drinks for votes. LOL

It looks like I have had a direct hit all the big boys such as lbo France, Shaka Zulu, and later on the big man hisself Francisco, but I will not change my words lots of workers top to bottom are beggers and I would not be putting my trust in many of these lots, who are these people where do they come from all of a sudden Dominica seems to be in the money they all want a bit of the action.

I disagree with you. When comes to doing they do not have a clue . If they did this they would have burnt themselves Opposition gang members only know how to talk and blow blue bubbles. DLP did not do it . Its not their style to try to kill people. They can face any political challenges without dirty tricks. They do not need to do this . They have money and excitement. They Know hoe to win clean elections.
The fire was the result of spontaneous combustion. Its like a sudden chemical reaction, like a volcanic euruption without the magna pressure.

Anyone affected should take the necessary action,?
    Is it against the state?
    Just go the hospital?
This statement is so vague? I thought after Maria, and the resilience talk,we were better prepared than the pre Maria days, but I now realize that I was fooling myself .

He will give a statement, but really you are right, the Landfill Management should be the one(s) out there giving an explanation, update etc.
Why do I have a feeling that we will never hear from him?
But the PM that should say something, because remember his wife say, when we hurt, he hurting too, so he should be in a shitload of pain right now.
