Orion Academy wishes to congratulate our 2016 Valedictorian and former Head Boy, Andrew Walsh, on his success at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examination and his overall academic achievement.
In upholding Orion Academy’s motto, Andrew truly ‘stayed the course ( Incepto Ne Desistam )’ as a dedicated, motivated and disciplined student. Throughout the years, he exerted a great sense of excellence and humility as a student and a young man, representing the Academy at a number of National Math and Science competitions. At the 2016 Orion Academy Graduation ceremony, he received awards for Most Outstanding student in Math, Physics, Biology, Information Technology and Principles of Business.
Andrew successfully pursued and passed eleven subjects at CSEC in which he received seven (7) ones, all of which were distinctions, including that of Additional Mathematics and four Two’s. As part of his high school path, Andrew also pursued and successfully passed the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT).
Having obtained his educational foundation in Dominica,Andrew will pursue studies at the University of Virginia as part of the University’s Honors Program, where he is an Echols Scholar in the College of Arts & Sciences.
We strongly believe that like many of Orion’s Alumni, Andrew will continue to make Orion Academy proud. Congratulations Andrew!
