Pastor calls for stability and peace during upcoming election

Pastor Randy Rodney is the president of the Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches (DAEC)

President of the Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches (DAEC), Pastor Randy Rodney is calling on Dominicans to promote stability and peace during this election season.

He spoke at a press conference held at the Truth and Grace Fellowship Global Church on July 9th , 2019.

Pastor Rodney expressed his concerns with what he described as the already-charged atmosphere in Dominica.

“The Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches is concerned about the already charged atmosphere in the country in the advent of the next general elections constitutionally due by May 2020. Election campaigning is usually a highly charged season, however, this one seems to be even more so, although the actual election date has not yet been called,” he said. “We are already seeing the taking down of party paraphernalia, language of inflamed passions and actions which does not make for the peace of the community.”

Rodney added, “As a nation we subscribe to the statement on our Coat of Arms ‘Apres Bondieu cest later” and therefore we should pay due cognizance to the precedence set in scripture for the promotion of peace among all.”

He said even after the elections, people should be willing to work together for the continued development of the nation.

“It is important to recognize that our election campaign must be such that we are able, with little effort, to return to work alongside each other for the continued development of the nation. Therefore we must do all in our power to reduce and or eliminate the possibility of permanent scars to our emotional landscape,” the DAEC president advised. “It is counterproductive for opposing politicians and or supporters to denigrate each other to the point of creating a chasm which prevents collaborative synergistic efforts which is required in any developing nation. Scripture encourages, “be angry and sin not” and “let not the sun go down on your wrath.”

Pastor Rodney encourages all parties to approach this election with soberness of mind and purity of heart adding that “we all have a responsibility to ensure that our democracy remains stable and vibrant for us and future generations.”

Sir the public cannot listen to you as DAEC’s president because you are too blue. You show your colours in public we know you are a very bias man, when you begin to speak as a man of God we will listen to your statements and take note.

    Stop play politics.

Man people like you are part of the problem rather than the solution!

If you are called by God to preach; then preach his words to your congregation; stay out of politics; in other words:

Render unto Caesar, the things that are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s!

Teach the word of God, teach prosperity to the people, as it is detailed in the Bible, if you are called, you will not have any difficulties in teaching people how to make money and become wealthy based on the word of God.

Hence, this might bring an end to political handouts.

While you sit there talking fart; I ask you how many widow, and orphan children have you given help to from the collection you collect from those who attend you church?

That is the duty of those who claim to be preachers!

Truth be told, please do not take the passage out of context. 1 Timothy 2, 1 to 3. Please note prayers should be made for all men, but the prayer for leaders, is for them to LEAD a quiet and peaceable life in ALL GODLINESS AND HONESTY. The scripture is not saying pray for leaders that are dishonest and ungodly, because we would be praying for slave masters, Isis and all evil dictators. The prayer for dishonest and evil leaders is for God to get rid of them, by any means, not for God’s blessings.

Pastor Rodney what I love about you is that when it comes to speaking the truth you are fearless..Your good God, ( my God too), really did not give you a spirit of fear, unlike the several other men of the cloth, who glibly preach what is right, but their actions say something different .
They will come at you right here on DNO.. Be like me. Their animad versions and censorious remarks about you should only propell you forward…. Well said Pastor!! You don’t believe in “””Cool Out”””, just the truth . If you were a “”Cool Out””” man, you would have been silent!!!!!
Skerrit why are you so lazy???????

Well said pastor. Could you also and call out your colleague whose wife he supports while she joins forces with the corrupt Labour regime. Is the Christian Union Mission a part of the evangelicals? Is the husband of Teacher Bonnie of Castle Bruce still a pastor? Does he worship the same God? Does he preach the same message? Does he follow the same bible? If so how could he stand on the pulpit with her at his side as the minister’s wife on Sunday after Sunday and proclaim this says the Lord? Doth God condone corruption? Doth God condone bribery? Doth God condone greed? Doth God condone “ugly”? Woe be unto the shepherd that leads my flock astray. This pastor needs to either bring his wife to subjection of her husband or get off the pulpit. Then the whole nation will know if he was sincere in his preaching. For those who knoweth not, this man and his family have been hoping for the fall.of the Labour government however filthy leuker saved the day for Labour.

You must stop talking politics on the radio. Use your radio show to talk about righteousness and justice. Then your role as pastor would be more effective.

If your words and those of %and views expressed were less hostile, I would consider your party, but keep it up, birds of a feather flock together. Ibo meme bett meme pwell.

      @Is So
Don’t lay blame on me for your political leaning. I’m not going to refrain from speaking out against the gross injustices, blatant wrongdoings, massive corruption and monumental inadequacies of this totalitarian government. I don’t want you to live up to my expectations so I won’t live up to yours. Since you are so puritanical, why don’t you castigate members of the DLP for their nasty and despicable rhetoric on the political rostrum? They curse members of the opposition like they are high on something. They take people’s marital problems and make them campaign fodder. I just speak the truth and you think it is hell. The DLP and Mr. Skerrit have created a target rich environment for attacks. Their lies, corruption and misguided policies know no boundaries. I bring the unvarnished truth to the fore, they spew unadulterated foolishness and lies about people. Direct your outrage at Skerrit and his inept zombie-like hirelings.

Thanks Pastor Rodney there is alot of food for thought there and we must take note.
Also remember to Pastor, the bible also says “Pray for those in authority” and we also must do that including Pastors even if, those in authority are not who they want to be there 8-O 8-O :(

The church always try to come to the fore, with their self righteous urgings, after the damage has been done. Just talk and no action. Have you spoken out when women and children were teargased? Mr. Linton is presently facing persecution before an unjust court and not one word from you. All the corruption, victimization, discrimination, deprivation, militarization of the police force and you remain ear-shattering silent. The country needs deeds not flowery words at this point in time. Thou hypocrite!
