According to information just reaching Dominica News Online, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, through his attorneys, has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Thompson Fontaine.
The news was announced by the Prime minister’s legal adviser, Senior Counsel,Anthony Astaphan at a news conference which is currently underway in Roseau.

In order for the people of Dominica to be clear on several matters especially where leaders of former leaders are concerned then the court system is the appropriate means. Though the system in itself may be biased.
I was pleased to know that the former leader was able to deal with situaton against cocom and Ian Douglas in court and now these matter have been settled then we are not in any doubt .
I now look forward to this case between the PM and Dr Thompson to erase all doubts.
Rather than being political let us follow the case to erase doubts from our mind. We hear alot of things via differnt things so now is the time to follow the case and court wil decide.
Fontaine said that he hoped Skerrit would SUE him.
He also said that he was CERTAIN that Skerrit would NOT sue him.
Is Fontaine now happy that Skerrit has called his bluff . . He is Being Sued!

If in fact the things that Thompson reports about on his website are unfounded and misleading in nature, The People of Dominica should also be plantiffs in this case.
He needs to stop making a personal issue between him and the PM a bashing platform of the Government and People of Dominica. At the end of the day, Dominica and Dominicans are the ones going to suffer from the negative image. TF needs to stop the propaganda and report facts like FN say they do; “Fair and Balanced.”

I am not taking sides but only being fair and just. If there is a defamation of character, then Prime Minister Skerrit has no alternative but to do so.
People must be careful what they say about others and especially a Leader of a country. Even though we have freedom of right and speech, it is not everything we should divulge to the public. On occasion they may be only hearsay and our assumption and not proven ones. Therefore people must be careful of stones that they throw which could cause great harm and loss to others. We are to protect people’s good names and not damage them.
We must also follow the Golden Rule as taught to us by Our Lord Jesus Christ: “Do unto others as we have others do unto us. This is the Law and the prophets.”

It is obvious and it need not take a high school education to make the connection-why would the PM and Tony pursuit a law suit when they are not sure whether or not after January 10 Roosevelt Skerrit will the PM of Dominica. In the law suite the credibility of the PM would definitely come into question and how can a man who is dismissed from the post of PM and or face a prison sentence be considered credible in a libelous law suit. I’m sure Thompson’s lawyer would exploit that situation and I’m sure Tony knows that.
