Anthony you are so childish. You sitting in America and just crying down your country. Donald Trump making all kind of racist comments and you have nothing to say. Stop bringing down Dominica for political reasons. Dominica is making tremendous progress while people like you keep cursing the country.

Or are you one of those who think then when they walking through the streets of pottersville they getting the best experience of their lives? I usually feel so bad and embarrassed for those tourists who come in through the fond cole port. Back to the customs jetty, that is an utter disgrace. And it has been like that since before Erica. Lets see if they will rush to fix that too before elections come. Let them fix everything before elections like mad ants scurrying to do work.

I dont know who is valuing these drugs. Lets just say a lb of weed costs EC$3,500/ lb which is HIGH for weed, especially in bulk, it still wont come up to the figure stated. The Coke itself is another story. I dont know on which streets they talking about,

    • derp
      July 15, 2019

      343 pounds is about 155,582 grams so if it’s worth EC 1,716,541.00 that’s about $11.03 a gram so that’s about accurate….

Also look for ex-police that have assets and spending that can not be accounted for by their pension. Some ex police well connected with leading figures in law and government with roots in Possie I do believe.

The dilapidated conditions of the jetty tell all you went to know about this government. Too many public structures are in a real sorry state of disrepair. The government should be charged with dereliction of duty. They don’t care about the working conditions of the police, nurses, teachers, and civil servants in general. They put ALL their efforts in deceiving the electorate to remain in control of the country’s financial and other resources.

amen. And it has been like that since before maria. That is why we can bounce back so easily, because we were so far at the bottom, the only place we can go is up. The country was already looking like crap. Worse now, they insist on hanging red cloth any how anywhere. the color of the cloth doesnt bother me, it is the untidy manner is which they just putting it anywhere. Left to me would burn all of it. I just happy workers not joining them in that nonsense this election season there,.

Disorder is the legacy of this outgoing administration. Anything is allowed once it’s done by the incumbent party and their supporters. Dominica is the worst managed country in the sub region by light years. Mediocrity , apathy and laziness has taken root. The sad fact is, people and groups of influence sit idly by and watch their country being eviscerated without a murmur. The Law Association is selfish, the Business Sector is cowardly, the Clergy is useless and influential individuals are unconcerned. Nothing a corrupt and inept regime likes more than an apathetic population.

Good job by the police on this occasion. When the police do well they should be given the credit. Commendation is in order for a job well done. Keep up the fight against the trafficking of illicit drugs.

Drug dealers have no regard for life and well being. Dominica is the poorest in the hemisphere. We have fallen below Haiti. When those men should be looking to uplift the poor and destitute they are brining drugs to destroy more lives. Sadly when they go to court our system says that the police are liars and they have to prove that the men were caught with the drugs. Then when they are found guilty our courts and laws slap them on the wrist. We need to do like the Philippines. When people know that their happy lives can be taken away by a bullet, an electrical switch or a piece of rope they will respect other lives and walk the straight and narrow. A drug dealer is a killer and when he is caught the must be treated as such. Just image the number of lives that this quantity of drugs would have reached and destroyed! If our governments are serious about ridding our society of the drug epidemic they will show it by their words in parliament. Lets get serious about iradicating all drugs!

Are you dumb? I hate when people who have no knowledge or experience in another mans shoes try to speak with authority. I know many many drug dealers who have every regard for the lives of others. Weed doesnt destroy lives. Coke is used in the medical industry, but because it is nicely labelled and masked in other forms and handed to you by the pharmacist or doctor and not by the street dealer idiots like you think nothing of it. the Phillipines itself is engaged in human right infractions in that if the police hear that you smoke weed, they can kill you. I doubt that is what you want. A “drug” dealer is not a killer. I have known many who are good people, and love their families and communities. all they want is a chance at a better life. While they system is against them they are brave and courageous enough to try and make whatever cards are handed to them work. Granted people like you look down on them and think they are not worthy but the black market is keeping us afloat in…

No Casio, are you dumb!?? Two wrongs do not make a right. I also know many drug dealers who are working in good-paying jobs. However because of greed, they choose to sell cocaine and other drugs (ex-cannabis) for a side earning – I have no mercy on such.

My ignorant commenter Casio, do you know what heroin does to the nervous system? Have you ever walked into the inner suburbs of Chicago to see the effect of crack full time in single parent households? Have you ever wondered about the cause of division and fighting among so many black, inner city youth?

I whole-heartedly agree with Duterte in regards to his draconian approach to professional and career drug dealers: You make the choice, you suffer the consequence.
