Dominica police say that two individuals are in police custody in connection with a bust of firearms, firearms, ammunition, and cannabis which they made on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
Acting Inspector of Police, Fixton Henderson, said in statement that that a police operation intercepted one Suzuki Swift car registration number TP677 at Loubiere at about 6 PM on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
“A search of the vehicle was conducted by the police. 27 9MM pistols, 1 Glock 40 pistol, 108 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and in excess of 40 pounds of cured cannabis weed were found in and seized from the vehicle. Two persons are presently in police custody assisting with the investigations in this matter,” Henderson added.
Easy, legalize cannabis so it won’t have to go thru the same route as guns and hard drugs. A no-brainer. So far, wherever it is legal there’s no association with guns, two separate issues.
These guns should be on their way to Ukraine not Dominica. These guys were preparing for a ‘narco-trafficking’ war!!! This is one tine I praise this political compromised police force. Can you tell us now if that picture shown is marijuana or is it delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (formula C21H30O2)?? You’ve completely missed the point. This is not about, “splitting hairs” as to what gun is shown or has more stopping power etc. It’s about less guns in the hands of criminals.

Skerrit’s police news is a waste of time gossip if not garbage. I heard the same level of enthusiasm when they said they met a blue barrel of guns at the port and they were looking for the suspect. What became of this Skerrit police gossip? Any arrests? Or was it a team mate?
We also saw the enthusiasm when they announced that police discovered millions of dollars at guess house in the Tet plat Paix Bouche area and two were helping with the investigation. It’s 2 yrs now.. has any been arrested or charged? Were they teammates or just clothes friends of the cabal maybe even working for them boys?

We have a serious problem in Dominica if the “police operation” netted 28 pistols as reported. Where is the outcry? Where is the concerted effort by the political establishments, civic and religious entities to curb the violence and get these illegal firearms out of our country. More can, and must be done to reverse this dangerous trend.
The political establishment doesn’t care. They like the snipers. Little do they know, half of the guns in our country might be used against them eventually. The arsenal must be almost full by now.
I congratulate the police for a job well done this time. However I wait to hear the outcome of the matter in the courts. There have been cases of large sums of money, drugs, guns, etc apprehended by the police to include illegal entry and the public is still waiting to hear about the outcome as if these matters have just vanished into thin air. Sometimes the police don’t prepare their case properly and the accused are able to get off. To curb and control the “big city” criminal activity the police must see things through to a prosecution. I’ll wait and see this time what transpires.
I want to see if a lawyer is coming to defend these 2 occupants of the vehicle saying that they do not know about these items, they were only driving the vehicle. Usual BS and unjust manipulation of the law.
And if for some good reason they are found guilty, their lawyers are likely to seek the lightest of penalties sighting that it’s their first breach of the law and they didn’t waste the court’s time and the other BS avenue while lives are indescrimatly damaged by illegal drugs and taken by the use of illigal guns.

It is alleged that every other house in Grand Bay has a at least one pow-pow especially those who are connected to the “cabal” who feel invisible. A top ranking garbadine uniform wearing officer recently told me that if the police have to exercise their authority on searching the person of “Grand Bay”, “Wesley” and “Possie” young men walking the streets on any given day, he has no doubt that at least one in five is carrying an unlicensed firearm. Let Lin Clown put something in your head Mr Malatete.If it is a 45 calibre pistol,why is it the police never found one single round of 45 calibre bullet?Of course it look like a 45.Pistols today are not judged by what the look like but,by the calibre of ammo they use.Example the M60 is a fully automatic machine gun it fire’s 7.62 cal.rounds of ammo.The AK 47 is a semiautomatic assault rifle and both use 7.62 cal.ammo.The 45 cal.pistol cannot fire the 9 mm rounds.The 45 bullet is bigger and carries more gun powder in the shell.

This is great news. These instruments of death are not manufactured in Dominica, therefore, they are all imported.
It is imperative that surveillance of our borders be airtight. The custom division and other law enforcement entities must work hand in glove to intercept any illegal weapons entering the country.
We must not put all the responsibility on law enforcement agencies to do all the heavy lifting. Every citizen has a moral duty to fight this scourge as crime does not discriminate. It affects all of us directly or indirectly.
We don’t have to be directly involved in gun and drug trafficking to become a victim. There are stray bullets and collateral damage when these criminals engage in shootouts.
Again, only a determined and a combine effort from the whole of society will reduce crime to negligible levels.
My fervent hope is this. If these guys are found guilty by a jury of their peers, they should leave prison as very elderly men in the sunset age of their lives.
The guns and ammunition that were confiscated could have been used to start a mini civil war.
Law enforcement officials should also try to interrogate these criminals to elicit the source(s) of this cache. This information is critically important to disrupt the supply chain.

You know if the government legalized it and made it into a cash crop this would cut into the dealers revenue making such an enterprise not viable on the illegal market. Why not export the produce to other countries e.g. Canada they are already doing this Canada cannot produce enough for their current demand. No they rather leave it to a few creating the illegal market
