Mitchel Joseph
Mitchel Joseph

Police in Dominica are searching for Mitchel “Dish” Joseph a 29 year old man of Zicack Portsmouth who has been missing since September 30, 2013.

Acting Police Public Relations Officer Richmond Valentine, said on local media this morning that Joseph was last seen when he left his mother’s home three days ago.

“Mitchel left his mother’s home around 9:30 am on Monday for his residence and has not been seen since”.

At the time of his disappearance, Mitchel was wearing a green and white T-shirt and short Khaki pants.

Joseph was on bail after being charged with the robbery of the Marigot Credit Union a few months ago.

Anyone with information into the disappearance of Mitchel Joseph is asked to call the police hint line 1-800 4468 or crime stoppers at 1-800 8477.

It is quite apparent that the accused skipped bail. Does anyone know what the bail amount is ? Therefore it is imperative that the bail amount set is sufficient to discourage this action. I am surprised that it does not occur more often.

There’s an old saying, “those who live by the gun, dies by the gun, those who lives by the sword, dies by the sword”.
I do’nt see no reason why it takes so long before matters are being disposed off at the courts. What is happening to our justice system. cases like these should be given priority . When cases stay so long before they are dealt with, the victims and witnesses kind a loose interest in such matters. These scumbags should have been dealt with at the courts, long time ago, they should be in the rest up at StockFarm

He is not dead. Someone knows where he is. But be careful, he is armed and dangerous, and this time they are not going to take him alive. He has nothing to loose, because he is a looser, and the devil is in control of him. The only way the government is going to do something about the lawlessness is, only when it will affect them and their family directly. Dominica is small and someone know what’s going on.

Only time will tell, with all these cover up that is going on in DOMINICA. God is still alive, and one day the truth will be revealed, and we all will pay the consequences.

My first thought is, what is the distance between his mother’s house and his? How long it takes for him to arrive at his house?
My second thought is, someone or some people could have kidnapped him and murdered him.
Then, if he robbed at gun point, how much money he got and was the money retrieved? If he got money from this robbery, they could have kidnapped him and killed him for it or for revenge.
What else? I cannot visualize anything else except to state as others, he should not have been released and not after committing all these crimes.

    • AlmondFingers3
      October 4, 2013

I think whomever you are hiding behind the screen and typing your biased and simplistic castigation about Dominica being a “lawless island”, will find out that if you thoroughly did your homework you will see, (which I’m sure you’re very well aware), that Dominica doesn’t feature high on the list of as you say, “lawless island” and you know it!

Whatever your intentions for categorizing your island like this, speaks volumes in terms of your own self-esteem and inability to be able to be objective, not emotional whilst putting forward a well balance point of view or argument.

You uttering that Dominica is as you say a “lawless island”, doesn’t actually make it so in terms of facts.

It will be interesting to hear what you’d describe other islands that are by far, extremely more volatile and as you say “lawless.”

Pull the other one! Yes most of us are not going to have sleepless nights as this individual has supposedly gone missing, having not contributed anything productive to his community, island and society, (a total waste of space), but that most certainly doesn’t make Dominica “Syria or Afghanistan”, or as you so naively purported a “lawless island.”

      • Justice and Truth
        October 6, 2013

There is proof of what they have done and were released immediately or a day after, sometimes, after committing murder. Some, to reoffend.
Some of them are indeed lawless. They know they will be released and so committing crimes is nothing for them.
The Court System must be revamped. If it were, this man would not have been out on bail and would not have disappeared in whatever manner he did.

Oh yes, they usually appear as nice people with slick tongues, even doing kind favors. These are the ones people must watch closely. I would not call such a person nice.
Let me further inform you. In God’s estimation and eyes he is not a good, nice person; not after all what he did. One strike and he would not even be regarded as a nice person. Consider more than one.
In case you do not know it, good/nice people do not go to Heaven. Holy people do.
If you think he is nice you should counsel him so that he could be rehabilitated. His life of crimes is worthless and a waste of God-given previous life and time which will lead him straight to Satan’s cauldron of everlasting fire.
God is merciful. However, the only way he can avoid Hell when he dies is to turn to God while he still has time. Repent with a humble, contrite and loving heart, worship, pray, make penance, sacrifice and restitution in order to appease God. This should assist him to start anew and truly become a nice person. God gives second chances and more.
I hope you will inform him about that when you know of his whereabouts and are in contact with him. You will be doing him a mortal and spiritual favor. These are good/godly actions of those who care.

The police more than know who it responsible for his disappearance. The same people that shot after him 5 times, the same people that shot him once. Portsmouth police views on the matter is leave them shot and kill each other other. they don’t care so what they putting up number for people to call to provide them info when they already have the info??

well good riddance! more of these lazy, thieving, drug dealing bastards should just disappear from the face of the earth! the PM should form a special anti crime task like Patrick john and do them like how he do the dreads. You see up to this day rasta does behave themselves. Peaceful law abiding citizens fedd up. maybe we should become vigilantes and deal with it since the police and government do not want to

nonsense, by so doing you will become exactly like the people you tend to eliminate. If you do so you are no more a law abiding citizen than any of them.

And what would be the good if this happened and we all became vigilantes as you stated, creating kaos and anarchy on the island?!

Is this what you’ll really like to be portrayed about your island around the globe?! It’s one thing to type stuff but what solutions do you have to pass on for improvements? Not so easy is it to offer those.

I know which choice I’d choose and it’s not to start an uprising but do keep a clear head and not make decisions on a whim or based on emotional feelings, but instead in a structured manner to reach results and not make the situation exacerbated.

A true Dominican wouldn’t be calling for such anarchy and violence, and as someone mentioned before, such thinking generally reflects on a citizen’s ability to suggest progressive and achievable options towards solving issues, as opposed the negativity that you’ve seen it fit to interject into your post.

I could shake your big toe Tom, what you are saying is so right. Police know who do away with him and they don’t care.
