Blackmoore points to the importance of performance

Parliamentary Representative for the Mahaut, Rayburn Blackmore, has told constituents that they cannot continue to elect him if her fails to perform.

Blackmore was addressing the inauguration of the Mahaut/ Jimmit/Warner Village Council earlier this week.

“You have stood by me from 2000 to now and I owe it to you and if I don’t perform you cannot elect me,” he said.

He stated the best is yet to come for the constituency, especially for the people of Jimmit.

“Let me say to the people of Jimmit who has supported me from day one that the best is yet to come,” he said. “We shall ensure in this term, that every street in Gimmit is done and done properly going forward. I am saying to you, your resource center, is coming and I cannot give the people of Jimmit any more excuses for not having access to that playing field in Jimmit. We must deal with it once and for all …”

The MP noted that the government has an obligation to provide recreation for young people.

“Because young people must find creative ways to display the energies, and one of the most creative ways in doing so is by way of sports,” Blackmoore said. “I know what sports has done for me as a young man and I am happy that it took me and the Labour Party to rehabilitate the playing field in Mahaut where we have spent over EC$2-million and today we can have cricket, rounders and basketball under lights … that is what we stand for, my dear friends.”

Meantime Minister for Trade, Energy and Employment, Ian Douglas, urged the communities to put the general election, held last year, behind them.

“We cannot achieve all of those great achievements if we do not have community solidarity, if we do not work together as one,” he said. “The elections are over, the decisions have been made, let us forget about the politicking and concentrate on the development of Mahaut.”

Douglas said Dominicans waste too much time and energy on politics.

“Let us forget about politics and let us come together because at the end of the day when we create a better Mahaut, when we create a better Jimmit, when we create a better Warner, ultimately when we create a better Dominica, 20 years from now our children wouldn’t remember whether we were Freedom, Workers or Labour. They would remember that we made a contribution to making Mahaut the best place to be in Dominica,” he said.

Mr. Blackmoore, I am from Massacre. You are hardly ever seen in our community, so we don’t get a chance to talk to you. But just in case you are reading this comment, please do something about the Massacre playing field which you got men to dig up and left it just like a labass. Right now, there is a big pool of water, almost as big as a lake, with dirty stagnant water, breeding mosquitoes for us. We never asked you for a mosquito abattoir in Massacre. And all the garbage being dumped on the playing field have rats all over the place. This is ridiculous! Please come and see the mess that was made. Do something about it. Thank you

All i care about is a proper hospital. No one seem to care but all i telling all u, when sickness arrive is nothing u all can do but suffer. I am tired of hearing nonsense and no one is trying to build a hospital in dominica. This is modern time we are living in. U telling me if a tourist comes to dominica and they get sick what happens? It is really sad. I pray to god i don’t get very ill when i come home because i don’t know what i would do. And what hurts is that, all the people who are responsible for the country , just pack their pull along and run america for medical when they leave their own to suffer.

Parliamentary Representative for the Mahaut, Rayburn Blackmore, has told constituents that they cannot continue to elect him if her fails to perform.(Blackmoore)

That is the most pathetic statement you have ever made, considering the volumes of lies you told in your short life of living; your conscience is eating away at you. If indeed you were so concern of not performing to your full potential all of these years, you were duty bound in the interest of the nation to gracefully step down prior to the elections of the 8th day of December, 2014.

What you are doing here is soliciting the sympathy of your constituents which you hope will resonate into the elections five years from now. You have made a hypocritical statement, you cannot deliver anything on your own to the constituency; if you know you are used as a token; demit your seat!

At a cursory glance, I thought the headline said the minister “points to the performance of importance.” My eyes must be playing tricks on me.

“Let me say to the people of Jimmit who has supported me.” What’s up with our government ministers and their “has” and “have”? Mr Rock was making a case this week for getting rid of unqualified teachers and accreditation of schools. And one would think that the minister is very educated because he allegedly went to an accredited school where for they speak the Queen’s English and was taught by qualified teachers and came back with a degree. Looks like the whole gang should take a refresher course on the use of has and have. And I am submitting this as a former unqualified teacher who was taught proper English by my so-called unqualified teachers.

Even though this is posted, how can you be certain that he did use those words? You should first find out. If he did, I do think they should have been corrected when posting for they are improper English. There should be no errors in articles.

“There should be no errors in articles.”

Lady Facts Machine, or is it sex machine, I doh know eh; but would you prefer to read something with a lie in it rather than an error?

Don’t you know to error is to be human? I read where you said Obama said there should be dialogue with the terrorist organization ISIS. Did you error, or you told a deliberate lie? If you are able to verify you erred I will accept you made a mistake, however if you insist Obama made any such comments, I conclude that you are a liar.

Facts nobody is impeccable, there shall always be errors in everything human touch!

Thanks! We are fed up with officials who do not know the difference between singular and plural…”has” is a fancy way to replace “have” and when they do use “have”, it is wrongfully used to speak of the past…Pronunciation is shameful…God help us!!!!!

Blackmoore says the best is yet to come. I say to you how many years do you need for the best to come since 15 years clearly is not enough for anything to come? Tell me how many more years do you and your regime need for the ‘best’ to come. Another 10 years or maybe 15 years or maybe never let the truth be told. Lies, lies and more empty promises!
To you Douglas let me tell you, yes you would not like anything better for us to forget the election and with it the 1000 promises that were made during that election. No my friend, we will not forget. This time we’ll hold you, your fellow Ministers and Skerrit accountable. You are not getting away with another 5 years of lies, promises, lazyness and no results.

Dear sir It took you guys 15 years in office and only when you got five more years it took you to realize what need to get done without excuses ?
Dear sir I would like to ask you as a former public works minister why public work division is in such shambles where workers cannot get paid and the grass on our highways are hindering our sight around corners for they are like Sven feet tall ?
You may not be the immediate minister but yet you are part of the current cabinet, you can also ask the minister now responsible to respond .

These people like to elect people that don’t perform. What are you talking about Blackmore? Is it time to retire? Blackmore wants for the people to keep their heads stuck in the sand so that the govt. can do as it pleases. It’s politics as usual.

You guys are quick to ask people to forget politics huh!!!!! Why would a political party spend so much, promise so much in a month and as soon as election done say forget about it. It does not work like that. Election is the time you make promisses to the people and lay out your plans to convince them to vote for you. Were all the promises lies? We will not forget because we want to see how many promises are kept and how many plans implimented. Remembering is part of holding you all accountable. How else will we hold you responsible if we forget all the politics? Building together means taking the best ideas out of a group of people and making them work, not taking the only idea from a socialist leaning party that has a misguided belief in the psychology of one man.
