DLP celebrates with awards ceremony and “Red Day” event

DLP leader and Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit after voting in the 2009 general election in which his party won 18-3.

The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) is celebrating one year since its re-election to government this weekend in the midst of opposition claims of a “lack of good governance” in Dominica.

The DLP, who gained an overwhelming 18-3 victory over the United Workers Party at the December 10, 2009 general election, will host an awards ceremony at the Arawak House of Culture this evening. The occasion, according to party officials, is the DLP’s way of honouring some of those who have contributed to the party, and will be carried live on the state-owned radio station.

But a “Big Red Day” event planned for the Macousherie Beach on Sunday is expected to be the highlight of the celebration. Supporters of the DLP have been urged to come out in red, in solidarity with the ruling DLP.  Those present will have the opportunity to take photos with their Parliamentary Representatives and with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.

The Swinging Stars Band will also assist in the celebration at Macousherie.

    Dear Lord,

Please shed some light on my country….. My fellow country men are heading down a dead end, and lord they are very happy about it.
Father, they keep praising a man who has them all blinded… and none of them can see right from wrong.
I understand your will must be done, but turning your back on Dominica like that is a mistake… Please look at us again.

I regret that I cannot attend this function. But I am asking that those of you who have the privilege to attend, please do so with peace in your mind. Leave pride, arrogance, haughtiness, and most of all hatefulness, somewhere in a garbage bin, where it eventually reaches destruction.

Enjoy this function in one accord of joy, and ignore those who may try to alter your goal. If our Prime Minister is guilty of any wrong doing, pray that he has asked for the forgiveness of God, and that He will be allowed the privilege to continue as our Prime Minister in the future, for the goodness of our country.

Enjoy the day on my behalf, and the many of us, who would like to attend but cannot do so. May God bless you all.

It is just a matter of time before you all start singing a different tune. The govermment is corrupt, illegal and time will prove all patriots right.Go ask Transparency International which country in the world moved up on the corruption list from nunber 34 to number 44..THIS IS WHERE SKERRIT HAS TAKEN DOMINICA…
By the way, BanKi-Moon Secretary General of the UN urged business leaders across the world to denounce corruption and institute measures to combat this vice..WHAT IS HAPPENING IN DOMINICA IS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING, AND THE PEOPLE HAVE A LEGITIMATE CONCERN TO BE FEARFUL.

      To Zero

Fear is the sword that Satan hands outs to us. We can choose to accept this sword and use it to destroy our own selves, as Satan wants us to do so, not that of other persons. Or we choose to rebuke Satan’s offer, by commanding him to “get behind us” in the name of Jesus Christ! And God will show us victory by our faith; the kind of faith that works through Love. Nothing can separate a person from the Love of God that is in him/her, by faith in Jesus Christ; not even death.

In the name of Jesus Christ, and on behalf of fellow Dominicans, I call for victory for our Dominica, by the guidance of His Holy Spirit in the minds of our men of Government, and the attitude and conducts of our people. I pray this O God, and I ask that it be Your Will for my country, Dominica, and fellow Dominicans. Let no fear reign in us dear God, but do Your work through us and in us, that we might display Your glory–Your nature of Love, Holiness, and Truth–which is in Your Son, Your physical Person, Jesus Christ. Amen

Fellow Dominicans, “Let not your hearts be troubled” Believe in the power and authority of God, believe also, that He works for the good of those whom He loves. Believe then, that God loves us. That is the first reason to rebuke fear from your minds. But it is up to you; for you will reap whatever you sow.

          To Lady

Jesus chooses men to do His work, here on earth, but as usual, just a few will notice the work of Jesus and many will quickly find reasons to accuse Him. Satan chooses his workers as well and always, he has much, much, more than Jesus. Just as you stated 2-1 above. However Satan will always be the loser!

The claim above is from your own mind–your own idea. You may have just pointed a truth that you are fighting hard to deny. It is funny how easy it is to set our own traps through our habits of negativity.
