The preliminary results from the Pointe Michel Village Council Election show that Erika Lewis Jules has topped the poll.
The election took place on Wednesday.
Eleven persons were nominated to contest the poll and according to the preliminary results released, Lewis-Jules who has been on the Council for the past 6 years, garnered 227 votes.
She was followed by John Blanchard with 197. Blanchard previously served on the council for three consecutive terms before losing at the last election.
Business woman, community worker, and activist Melvina McBonette Boyer came third with 195 votes followed by the incumbent chairman, Hasselt Williams with 190.
Newcomer Sonia Felix, a former College lecturer, came in 5th with 182 votes.
Reports indicate a high voter turnout.
The government will now nominate three persons to make up the eight-member council.
After this process, a chairperson will be chosen.

Not laborite but The only competent person there is Sonia . make her chairman. Make Melvina the main ground woman and John blanchard the real watchdog. hasel should be in sports and erica i staying quiet.

Congrats to all the participants, I hope the village benefit greatly , they are all wonderful people and has the village , and the country at heart ,now we need restrooms at the cricket field, we have one of the best cricket field on the island with a wonderful view of the Caribbean sea where all villages come to play and have events with not one bathroom where people can relief themselves men and women has to hide behind trees , and houses to urinate , it is a sham we need this to be address immediately .
