Dominica Labour Party (DLP) candidate for the Roseau South constituency, Ambrose George, says he is confident of a fourth term as that constituency’s Parliamentary Representative.

George made the remarks at a DLP rally in the Bath Estate Community on Sunday night.

“I feel very confident,” he said. “I feel very confident that the people of the Roseau South constituency will, for the fourth time in a very big way, vote for Ambrose George of the Roseau South constituency.”

He urged voters to vote for “the little man.”

“Vote for the little man, the little man with a very strong heart,” he stated. “The little man with a very strong back, the little man who loves the people of the Roseau south constituency. I am standing firm for a fourth term.”

George promised the continuation of the housing revolution and good roads in the constistuency.

“The housing revolution will continue my dear brothers and sisters,” he stated. “The rehabilitation of our roads in Bath Estate, in Wallhouse, in Castle Comfort, in Giraudel and Eggleston, will continue. And I want to tell you the people of those communities be patient, your parliamentary representative is coming to you and your roads will be renovated and repaired.”

George will be battling against Joshua Francis of the United Workers Party (UWP) for that seat in the December 8 general election.

Stranger things have happened. However, it would be a surprise of a major kind if Ambrose retained that seat. Roseau South has no sporting facility for its members. We know the importance of providing young people in particular, with alternative activities to keep them occupied while stimulating their minds.

High unemployment is another formidable monster that the people of Roseau South must contend with, like other parts of the island. No efforts were made to train and recruit “Drug Counselors” to provide “Substance Abuse counseling for those who are in dire need of this service.”

I applaud the government for constructing new homes for the residents of the “Sliver Lake Community.” It’s time for new blood and new ideas. Your behavior and disrespect for the law is telling and wanting.

Providing an “Indicted and Convicted Money Launder” with a gaming license while the Prime Minister was away from office, depicts your high level of lawlessness and crookedness.

Within a few weeks, hopefully we will no longer have to deal with your crookedness and foolishness. Good riddance Ambrose. Time up! Pack up!

That does not make sense. If you want to vote for Skerrit you must put your X against Ambrose George’s name. There is no other labour representative for Roseau south. Why not try the other, more dynamic little man Joshua Francis., what can you lose? Unless of course you are married to Skerrit but Dominica is not just one man alone you know but all ours. Or you can abstain and not vote at all , is your choice.

Newtown, Kingshill. Egleston, Giraudel, do not return Ambrose George to Parliament, he needs to retire. He is old and has served his time, now he is a liability, and needs to be retired to rest. So vote the future Joshua Francis who can represent you and ensure a future for the area Roseau south for Joshua Francis. Vote Joshua Francis he is the better candidate.

The audacity of this man…. smh… But is Dominicans that have him thinking he can do what he want, get away with it and still win his seat. I heard countless labourites say for the 2009 elections that Ambrose George didn’t do a d*** thing for Roseau South… but they wanted Skerrit to win so they vote for him. So really… he has absolutely nothing to gloat about. Do we want another 5 yrs of nothing? No Mr George. Let’s see some development in Roseau South people. Teach this man a lesson.

this little man who has not solved any of the problems of the roseau south constituency. take a look at the constituency, youth on the streets with no prospects of employment, extremely poor garbage collection system with garbage stacking up at homes and business places, deterioration of public spaces, but the extremely high unemployment which plagues the Roseau south constituency is just unacceptable, this is why i can’t understand that these so called educated people supposing someone who has represented their community for 15 years yet instead of improvements we have witnessed the decline of Roseau south constituency. and to make matters worst this mans character is so questionable associating with convicted money launderers. when one is a juvenile we are told to be good and do good yet all we see are that these evil corrupt men are the ones who are being rewarding by society yet the same society turns and curse the us youth for acting out….smh.. these people of the Roseau south constituency should be ashamed of having this guy represent them!

One for serious meditation. By the great short shirt of Antigua. Very applicable to our current situation. Rise people open up your eyes will follow

    Power rules the world today
    Power corrupts, they say
And absolute power corrupts you absolutely.
It can change a man who has a heart of gold
Make him cruel, wicked, self-centered and cold.
Many man in this land…many organizations
Fought for freedom and justice throughout the land

    Chorus 1:

When they have power and authority
They don’t give a damn about nobody.
    Prostituting the island
    To all and sundry,
    they peddling my people’s rights.
Exploiting, oppressing, less freedom, more suffering, I wonder how we survive.

    Think it over, my friend
    Think it over again.
Think it over- don’t vex with me, Shorty
Think it over, I’m singing as I see.

    Verse 2:

    Coal we can’t even buy
    “Murder,” de price too high.
Malnutrition killing de children while (leaving) the others starving.
Yet de prices rising without control
Young men begging bread by the side of the road
And the chamber of commerce in dis land, ah tell you, they don’t give one damn!
The more we try to economize, de more the cost of living rise.

    Chorus 2:

When they have power and authority
They don’t give a damn about nobody.
They prostituting the island, milking the land dry.
    They making my people starve.
Exploiting, oppressing, less freedom, more suffering

This thing just can’t go on.
    Think it over, my friend
    Think it over (carefully) again.
Think it over- don’t vex with me, Shorty
Think it over, I’m singing as I see.

    Verse 3:

    Work we can’t even find
Life seems a waste of time
Nothing to do but sit around the corner and lime.
Though frustrated some would rather starve than beg
Others turn to crime and steal what they can get
And the judges have no sympathy
They hammering everyone that they catch
Even little children are jailed without regret.

    Chorus 3:

When they have power and authority
They don’t give a damn about you and me.
(ah wha de do?) Lock me up when they catch me, smoking little tampie.
While the social rich are freed.
Exploiting, oppressing, less freedom, more suffering
A poor man’s life is really hard indeed.

    Think it over, my friend
    Think it over again.
Think it over- don’t vex with me, Shorty
Think it over, I’m singing as I see.

    November 17, 2014

I am a laborite but I will not vote for them this year. Here is why: When I thought of how Rosie Douglas died in 2000, I could not help but think of if the similar thing happens to Skerrit who would be next in line to become PM. I did not have to think hard to realize that it would Ambrose George, who was fired twice by both Pierro and Skerrit, and has a lot of questions to answer about the closure of Big Bang. It even gets worse when I think of those behind Ambrose since I don’t see leadership in none. DLP spells trouble for Dominica in any way one looks at it.

  29. Francisco Telemaque
    November 17, 2014

Ambrose, your seat is already lost, what are you going to do when you are alone at home?

On the other hand Skerrit may have the opportunity to go to France Guadeloupe or Martinique to reside, remember the man is a French man by citizenship, hence, he is privilege to reside in France or any of the Departments (colony’s); France which includes Martinique and Guadeloupe.

On the other hand I understand his wife might be a citizen of the United States, or may have a Green Card; so in order to assure his citizenship in the United States, Skerrit ensured that his wife gave birth to his Son in a hospital in New York, and not in New Jersey as some thought. Now if Skerrit’s wife cannot sponsor him; when his son reaches the age of eighteen (18) years old, as an American born he will have the privilege of sponsoring his old man daddy, who might be in his sixties; too young to retire, and to old to be employed.

Besides Skerrit does not have any skills that he can utilize in America.

Nevertheless, we know that America welfare system helps everybody: So, we look forward to Skerrit standing in the welfare line, then he will walk out with both of his hands filled of Food Stamps oui!

    Hahahahahahahahahahahhaahahhahahhaahhahhahhahahahhaha!

You know it is our experience that every little dictator, when the rug is pulled from under their feet, they have to leave the country, however; wherever they drift the time usually comes when they return home and die in poverty, at the feet of the very people the hurt, and brutalized.

The money they leave with always runs out. A good example would be Gary of Grenada, and little Duck of Haiti, who went to France after the Haitians kicked him out by force, he lived in France until his millions ran out, thus he returned to Haiti where he died alone in a house in poverty I may add.

That I predict is Skerrit’s fate, and future too!

@ Franciso Dodds Telemacque. Baby Doc did not die in poverty at all and he was not alone when he died. where did you hear that? stop assuming things.
He hid most of the money in secret accounts and even “donated” one million us dollars to Haitians upon his return to Haiti after the disaster, the only problem being was that this was actually part of their money he had stolen. As for your points about Skerrit, stop saying you heard this and heard that about the man’s wife. The wife is not in your biz. Ppl hear and say things abt you too. are they true? Dominicans like beth too much. Stop the gossiping man. Cha.. you say you are educated. Act like an educated man.

      • Francisco Telemaque
        November 18, 2014

Don’t worry about where I got my information. If baby doc had so much money hid in all sorts of banks as you said, he would live off all that hidden money in France.

You see the dictators, no matter how much the steal (thief) is never enough to live off for the rest of their life; they either have to find a job or live off some government welfare in some country, even in those who gave then exile okay, it is not as they go into exile and are honored by the people and government of the host country, they are on their very own, left to fend for themselves.

The fact that he returned to Haiti is an indication he had no money left unless, he knew he was about to die, and so he decides to return to bury his body in his birth country.

So, my question to you is what will happen to all his hidden money, I suppose he left it all to you, that is why you know everything about him! And by the way Stupes has not made it into any dictionary after ten years or more you indicated it would be recognize as a word, rather than a sound: well the impression or sucking of the tooth is nothing more than a sound which express some form of anger or frustration!

Sir you are the very definition of corruption and example of what anyone who is enters into politics and gets elected should not do when in office. After being fired 3 times from the government it is clear that you have something BIG on Skerrit why you are still there in the party and you’ve not be axed.

What have you done for Roseau South in 14 years?
You still talking about roads and housing revolution after 14 years… seriously…. if you couldn’t do it in 14 how can you possible do it in 5.

Those of us who listened to the sermon on radio on Sunday by Mr. Paul Joseph, referred to as the man from the East, should be concerned, why a practicing Christian would want to vote for Ambrose. Mr. Joseph preached that any leader, politician, pastor who are involved in corruption, untruths and ungodly ways, God will disassociate himself from that person. We are fully aware of the allegations which have followed Ambrose through out most of his political life, therefore, if one is genuinely a child of God, a Christian, how can you want to put that man in a leadership position, unless he has publicly asked for forgiveness.

I know that Mr. Ambrose cannot travel to P.R , so where will he run to when DLP lost the elections?
The leader told someone that he will go to New Jersey to relax there for while and clear up his head.
So Dominicans, the choise is yours now, for all those who have been jumping and cursing out their neighbors for these guys you should stop it. But I want to tell you that there is no need to run away like some are planing to, because Dominica needs all of us to build it.

As bad as it to see this man on a platform it hurts even more to hear talk about being confident of a big fourth term, even if we know that will not happen.
