Graneau confident of DLP Salybia win

Graneau will not be contesting the December poll

Outgoing Parliamentary Representative of the Salybia constituency, Ashton Graneau, is confident that the seat will remain with the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) after the December 8 general election.

Graneau who won that seat five years ago is being replaced by Casius Darroux.

Graneau told DLP supporters at a gospel event held at Castle Bruce on Sunday that Darroux will take up the mantle of the DLP to move the constituency forward.

“And I tell you that Claudius (Sanford) was smiling when he heard that I was no longer interested in contesting the general election but that was a strategy,” Graneau said. “ I am a strategist, a political strategist and we deliberately did it to give him hope … so as a result we have given you a stronger man that I am and we want him to continue from where we have left.”

He added, “So my brother and I who have left a legacy for the Salybia constituency, we have given over to Casius Darroux. A young aspiring leader in the Kalinago Territory, trained in the People’s Republic of China, we have left something good for Casius to build on, so there is no way that Claudius can smile because the truth is this is our seat again. The Salybia constituency will return to Labour, there is no doubt about that.”

Meanwhile, Darroux said he is confident that the DLP will bring home the seat for the DLP in the upcoming general elections.

“I am strongly supported by a fantastic team of energized campaigners and we are confident that we will be creating history in the Salybia Constituency when again we will bring home the seat to the Dominica Labour Party on December 8,” Darroux said at the launch of the DLP campaign last weekend.

General election will be held in Dominica on December 8.

In the Salybia consistuency Casius Darroux will be going up against the UWP’s Claudius Sanford.

The truth shall set you free. Mr Graneau is an old school Lobourite. He was not “Fredom” enough. The new school labourite is “Freedom” incarnate.

Why do you look it at negatively? Do not twist and turn the meaning of it. Think further. He was smiling which means Graneau turned over the reins to him and he is proud and happy to accept it. Look at it, positively, in this manner.

The saddest part of Dominican politics is that a lush like Graneau can actually have a voice. In the real world you would meet mister in the rum shop and anything he would have to say stays there.

In Dominica this man becomes a minister !

In contrast Sanford is a lecturer, a man with a degree in economics, and a well spoken man.

That puts him at a disadvantage in Dominica where eloquence and a decent education makes you like a unicorn
Everytime I think about it, Dominica deserves Labour.

    Pound them Skerro…pound them.

and yet the “lush” won the “lecturer, the man with the degree in economics and well spoken” in the last general election. Enough said!

I have absolutely no interest in the confidence levels of neither this nor the previous Graneau – I am however interested in the part where said ‘vote them out’….who was he referring to? Could not have been UWP – Mr Graneau needs to be mindful of the subtle messages he sends in the hope that the electorate will pick it up without him getting a whopping from his leader – though he tried to hide it after saying, ‘they not in office or some nonsense like that…

The other one of his ramblings was the something to do with $600 Million and a MOU (signed) for an international airport, I believe I heard China in there as well.

My concern now is, does the MOU he is talking about render that of the Prime Minister’s signed back in November 2013, for an international airport, state of the art hospital and public works transformation into a five star hotel (which was suppose to break ground in January 2013) – void? invalid? Or will we be getting two international airports, one which comes with a hotel and hospital as a bonus for only US $300 Million and another which will be $600 Million -any bonuses. I also heard no mention of that deal with the company in China which the representatives of the government of China, here, publicly clarified. What happened to it?

It cannot be that he was thinking in EC $ of the same $300 Million deal…it would be much higher than just $600 Million, surely?

Anyway, as I have said its not because I have any interest in the opinions of the Graneau’s, neither as a duo nor as individuals – but since this Graneau seems to be the easiest to let things slip I am asking him.

Mr graneau , sorry , I think you already gave the clue , why are you not contesting again? Lol. You have lost confidence in your party. Their style and policy is not yours. This new guy will not make it. People know that he is just not candidate material. Besides he has no leadership skills. You would be the winner ,but this guy will not. People in the reserve don’t vote for party ,they vote for the person , so sad to say you let down your party , clean win for Claudius.

What a hoot. Ashton Graneau a political strategist? Look jokes. Yes pipirit. You went on news and said you were interested in another term while unknowing to you, your brother and others were conspiring to replace you. You were not even asked if you would like to run again. While you were busy running your mouth, they went all the way to China to pick up this . Everybody was looked at as a candidate except you. Your legacy is one of shame. SO pack yourself. Give claudius his chance. Time for someone with personal acheivement and dignity to represent caribs. you were the worst representative in history, scoring zero for visibility in a cabinet poll.

     Whatever Grand-nose (Graneau) is smoking and drinking I need some of it because it sure makes one feel good even when they are already dead…LOL. Boy even when allu get thrown under the bus by the Great-One and replaced overnight you are still obligated to suck it up and pretend it was all your decision.

You and Sister Glo are prime examples of the dearly discarded who have no choice but to sing for your last supper. At least Walter was promised an Ambassadorship for pretending. Alas, alas, only time will tell. However at this juncture Change Is A Must!

The unemployment rate in Salybia is 75%. (fully employed vs underemployed+unemployed). Most people depend on handouts. Their fund from Venezuela was hijacked right in their faces some benefited while the ones in charge got the bigger share. Handouts is not going to solve the problems. Jobs, Investment in agriculture etc. The people are being used and abused. Empower the people to think and survive for themselves. Strangely for hungry people handouts will be enough to get them to vote for more handouts. SAD SAD SAD

This should be written on a billboard. Written for a speech for the Hon PM. No government is going to provide jobs for everybody. It just have to implement policies that provides the environment for sustainable jobs. Not that last minute NEP from taxpayers money from Venezuela (i do hope it is legit money). We have to sow the right seeds for us to benefit in the long run. Presently the right seeds are not being sown.

But hear the shameless bunch of rejects nou. Political strategist you call that? Graneau, I have no respect for people like you, teacher Glow, Matthew (he doesn’t even have respect for himself), and ALL the rest of political rejects and discards of Skerrit. You all have put shame on yourselves, children, spouses, supporters and the entire nation. Not one of you wanted to resign. Not ONE! But you all so full of shame that Skerrit rejected and discarded you all openly and has blamed you all for the failures of the DLP. So when we see you, we see a failed Graneau, failed Gloria, failed matthew and the others I don’t even have time to waste time on. FAILURES!!!
