January 10 is D-Day for PM, St. Jean

St. Jean (left), Skerrit

January 10, 2012 is the date set aside to deliver judgment in the court matter between petitioners for the United Workers Party (UWP) and Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Education Minister Petter St. Jean.

The case was to determine whether Skerrit and St. Jean contested the December 2009 election illegally.

Lawyers for the petitioners Douglas Mendes told the court that there was irrefutable proof that Skerrit held French citizenship during the last election.

At the end of the proceedings Astaphan noted that whatever the outcome he was certain that the losing side would appeal to a higher court.

Actually D-Day for the Skerrit and St. Jean was 18 December 2009.
Because the public was made aware of the information which the court is to rule on before the 2009 election . . yet Skerrit and ST Jean were voted IN!
The case is a clear indication that UWP does not accept the will of the people.
UWP already knows that their efforts won’t replace Skerrit as representative for Vieille Case . . for more than a few weeks!

some of u all need to open allu eyes. I for one not red, blue or green. I am for Dominica. If Skerrit loses a bi-election can be called and he would still win his sit with flying colors. At the end of the day we need development in our country and that should be our main focus. to much he say she say accusations, who suing who.All these things bringing down the country. we just wait patiently for the results and cross that bridge when we get there whatever the results.

  7. December 20, 2011

At long last this is the end of Skerrit’s Rope. The DLP will return to Rossie and Peirro’s ideologies.

What are we paying these judges for? They are very well paid by the tax payers, yet they get on as if they are appointed by god. A decision in this matter should have been delivered by the end of the trial or within a week. The extended time that High court judges take to deliver judgement after a hearing must be of serious concern……

  9. Yeah Right
    December 20, 2011

Whatever the results, that doesn’t mean antything much. If it goes against the PM, Labour will still continue to be in power. Skerrit will go to a bi-election and win again handsomely and return as PM… and, most of you idiots commenting here will remain “BLUE VEX” for a long time to come. LOL.

MY MOUTH IS LIKE JELL CABRIT,WHATEVER I PREDICT USUALLY COMES TO PASS.I PREDICTED THAT MR. LENNOX LINTON WILL BE THE NEXT THE NEXT PRIME MINISTER AT THE END OF THE DLP STINT.ONE WEEK LATER LENNOX INFORMED DOMINICANS OF HIS INTENTIONS TO RUN. I AM AGAIN GOING TO MAKE A PREDICTION.SKERRIT WILL LOOSE THE CASE,HOWEVER,THE JUDGE WILL RULE THAT A BYE ELECTION WILL BE HELD IN VIELLE CASE. AMBROSE WILL REPLACE SKERRIT AND AFTER THE BYE ELECTION WHICH WILL BE WON BY SKERRIT,AMBROSE WILL REFUSE TO GIVE UP THE THE SEAT OF PRIME MINISTER THUS LEADING TO THE DOWNFALL OF SKERRIT AND THE LABOR PARTY.

:-D Correct me if I’m wrong, but the judge that was presiding over the case, wasn’t she from st Vincent? Isn’t St Vincent being led by a leader who is friends with skerrit? I thought Dominicans were a little bit wiser. I guess commonsense isn’t as common.

As much as I LOVE our P.M. (yeah, I said it! I love our P.M.), I got to say that something is wrong with a judicial system that takes so long to decide on such an important matter. Elections were two full years ago. That matter should have been dealt with expeditiously! We should have our P.M. sitting without all this background noise.

Leadership par excellence! Why does a sovereign nation have to go to court to know if its leader is a foreign citizen. It’s a shame!
Will Skerrit come clean and declare the truth? No court can declare truth, the Judge can only rule on her understanding of the matter, but Skerrit is the one who the truth.
But maybe truth does not exist, according to the gospel of Dr. Philbert Aaron.
    God is in control.

“Why does a sovereign nation have to go to court to know if its leader is a foreign citizen.”

The ‘sovereign nation’ i snot ‘going to court,’ Anonymous. It is the sore losers and those who have mch difficulty digesting the expressed wishes of the masses that has brought this matter to court.

Do not confuse the machinations and idiocy of a minority for the will of the nation. The nation spoke, again. The minority refuses to listen, again.
