PM Skerrit describes calls for his resignation as “ridiculous”

Skerrit

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit on Wednesday dismissed as “absurd” and “ridiculous” a call from Opposition Leader Hector John that he resign after a talk show host said he had evidence that Skerrit had renounced his French citizenship earlier this year.

John, on Monday, called for the prime minister’s resignation after talk show host Lennox Linton read documents on his weekend radio programme which allege that Skerrit applied for French citizenship on April 8, 2003 and subsequently renounced that citizenship on February 5, 2010.

“The call by the leader of the opposition for Roosevelt Skerrit to resign is absurd and ridiculous. They have brought the matter to the courts and if they believe that they have evidence to support their claim, then take the matter to court,” Skerrit said on the state radio station, DBS.

A High Court judge ruled in August that Skerrit would have to face trial over charges that his election last December was null and void on the grounds that he holds dual citizenship.

“If I were they I would have run to my lawyers with whatever I have so that he can prepare the necessary documents and submit to the court. Let the courts decide. But this call for Roosevelt Skerrit to resign, let me say to my supporters and to the rest of Dominicans, I have no intention of resigning because the leader of the opposition says Skerrit must resign,” he said.

Skerrit said he was operating from a strengthened position since last December’s general elections that returned his Dominica Labour Party to office with an 18-3 majority, and was satisfied with the management of the economy.

“When we look at the way we have been able to manage the affairs of Dominica, the vast majority of Dominicans are satisfied with the manner we have been managing the economy.

“If an election were to be called in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015… in 2025 the Labour party will be returned to office with a resounding mandate again,” he said.

The UWP has said it will hold a ‘people’s assembly’ on Friday outside the Financial Centre in Roseau to protest Skerrit’s “illegal election” to office, among other issues.

“These attempts to create unease and civil unrest in Dominica will not work because the people of Dominica are seeing through the selfish attitude of Ron Green, Edison James and Hector John,” Skerrit said.

“Let not your heart be troubled. I am standing firm because you the people of Dominica have given me a very strong mandate to lead this country into greater prosperity and development,” the prime minister assured his supporters.

Between me and my husband and now my son, we’ve owned game consoles over the years – more than I can count, including Nintendo NES, 64, Wii, Xbox (classic & 360), Sega Genisis, PS2, PS3, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of consoles. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the widely popular Xbox 360 is.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Mr. Skerrit as a muslim who was born and raised here, I say to you, the people have a right to information you have been keeping from them. I believe you should answer the people in a professional and ethical manner regarding the issues. People are losing trust in you quickly.

Secondly Mr. Skerrit, what is the MOU between Dominica and China? The people have a right to know whether their country is being sold technically to Chinese. They need to know, it is time you own up. You know very well the court system takes time, there is a lot of backlog. You should be placed before a tribunal, not the High Court.

Honestly really none of these Ministers should run the country they are in some way or another corrupt not just by money, but by the fact that they don’t answer to no one but their master Skerro, especially Julius Timothy who sold his flag just because he was not elected as the leader of the opposition (thinking out loud), point is people Skerro is boss and in order to beat the boss you need to have more links money power influence to win the war not the battle.

MR. SKERRIT, THERE COMES A TIME WHEN WE ALL HAVE TO PUT OUR PRIDE AWAY AND COME TO TERMS WITH WHAT WE HAVE DONE.

I DO NOT KNOW IF WHAT YOU ARE ACCUSED OF IS TRUE OR NOT, BUT I WILL TELL YOU THAT CITIZENS HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO RAISE QUESTIONS TO ELECTED OFFICIALS. IN FACT IT IS PART OF THE OATH THAT YOU TOOK TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS FOR ALL DOMINICANS TO KNOW, AND IT NOT A WASTE OF YOUR TIME TO DO SO.

WITH AN 18-3 MAJORITY YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR.

SIR BRIAN ALLYNE HAS GIVEN HIS ADVICE AS WELL, HE IS A SINIOR STATESMAN AND LEGALLY MINDED HERE IN DOMINICA AND WELL RESPECTED. HE WILL NOT MISLEAD YOU. GO AHEAD AND PUT THIS MATTER TO REST.

THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION IS VERY CRUCIAL AND THERE IS WHERE IT IS BEING TRIED NOW. THE WHEELS OF THE LEGAL SYSTEM TURNS VERY SLOWLY IN SOME CASES.

TO ALL DOMINICANS, PLEASE PUT POLITICAL AFFILIATION ASIDE, AND THINK OF WHAT ADVICE YOU ARE GIVING YOUR CHILDREN IN THIS CASE.

THIS IS MY PROBLEM WITH SKERRIT,HE JUST CANNOT CALL A SPADE A SPADE.SKERRIT HAS NOT COMMENTED ON THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE DOCUMENTS PRODUCED BY LENNOX LINTON.IN FACT HE DIDNT EVEN MAKE MENTION OF THE CONTENTS OF THE LETTER IN HIS SPEECH,ALL HE SAID WAS TO TAKE IT TO COURT.HE KNOWS THAT THE MATTER IS BEFORE THE COURT AND THE PRESENT INFORMATION CAN ONLY BE PRESENTED DURING THE CASE AS EVIDENCE.WHAT SPRAGE WAS SAYING INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR THE CASE WHICH MIGHT TAKE ANOTHER YEAR,YOU SKERRIT KNOW YOU BREACH THE LAW ,JUST RESIGN IMMEDIATELY.

Trying to be careful. If the articles are correct as to the citizenship of the Pm and nothing is done. I would say then to hell with the constitution. Everyone can do what they want.
This has gone beyond Politics. This about the CONSTITUTION.
Does it have power or not or is it just there for some of us?

    • Gary
      December 17, 2010

What do you mean “trying to be careful” what i guess you are trying to say is that if the Prime Minister is correct all the time declaring his innocence and found not guilty then the constitution is worthless and should not be paid attention to, what stupidity and ignorance is this. This tells me two things one you are ignorant as to the matter at hand and second you are using your patinas political beliefs as to established what is right over the same constitution which you made your self to understand.

First of, it is only the court with evidence that can decide the guilt and innocence for The Prime Minister based on evidence brought forth, so if the court says he was right all along, what you are saying is that the constitution is worthless, and then it is people like you who claim to understand the continuation talking nonsense about it is just their for some of us. Do you know what is the courts purpose. well if you do not know or understand it is the enforcer off the constitution it is there to make sure the constitution works, other words if you have Laws and do not enforce them the laws are useless and remember the court does not just dispel justice arbitrarily as you would think. Also if he losses and found guilty the law has also worked well. but I guess you are not interested in the workings of the Law, justice and the constitution, your only interest is the results based on what you think because of your political partisan, sad, well thanks God for the constitution and the courts.

  15. Lizavier4Jesus
    December 15, 2010

The Prime Minister said to those who voted him and his government in power, and I quote: “Let not your hearts be troubled”. How many of you know that this is a quote from Jesus Christ, Himself? I will quote the whole verse for you all to read: “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14: 27

Jesus said those words to His disciples in a message of peace, because He knew He was about to be crucified for the sins of the world, an outcome they would not be able to understand. Jesus was facing all sorts of accusation as well; His accusers were also false witnesses.

People were to use their faith to accept who He was, but they did not, and they continued to demand that He tell them the truth about Himself, but He would not do that; just as our Prime Minister is not telling you all what you want to hear from him word for word. He is asking you all to trust him–just as people needed to apply faith in Jesus–and he has given you all no reason not to do so, the same way Jesus did not give people any reason, not to believe in Him. I learned that Mr Skerrit is also the Minister of Finance, for crying out loud! A surplus in Dominica’s budget for the last fiscal year!

I remember the Prime Minister using the last words of the above Bible quote, at a previous time, when he was talking about that same accusation brought before the court against him. He said: “I am not afraid!”.

Some of you are asking that the Prime Minister disclose information to you all, concerning this accusation. But that is because you all are involved in a conflict that stands way above your level of intelligence. When the police arrest a person, they tell that person he/she has the right to remain silent, or whatever that person says will be used against him/her in the court. In other words, a person has the right to remain silent until the appropriate time comes for him/her to defend his/her case. That defense is put forth in a court room, before a magistrate and the jury, not before the public.

The Prime Minister is well aware of this fact, and a lot of other facts that is far fetched from the understanding of the majority of people in Dominica. So those of you who are demanding that the Prime Minister tell you anything about the conflict of dual citenship and his role in government office, you are demanding that a carmel enter into the eye of a needle. It is better to wait until the trial is over to know the truth. But the Prime Minister is saying until then, ‘trust me, let not your heart be troubled” I have confident of victory; as far as I can understand.

The world is receiving the information that the Prime Minister sends out. Do you all actually believe that he could speak with such manner of boldness, confidence, wisdom, and authority, just to end up with humiliation and embarassment at the end of that court trial? Come on people!!

        December 18, 2010

        To Lion Heart

The Messiah left authority for man to do His work in this world. He died and was raised to sit on the right hand of the Father–the greatest of exaltation–after He had faced accusations, humiliation, and persecution.

Prime Minister is encountering the same situation. He can be faced with defeat through men, but have victory with God Almighty–also the great exaltation. Who said that I cannot compare him with Messiah.

The people of Jesus’ days accused Him of having the devil in Him; so it is nothing to me to branded “sick”, because of Him.

    MR PM,

YOU WERE ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF DOMINICA TO RUN THE COUNTRY, AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU SHOULD KEEP DOING UNTIL YOU ARE NO LONGER ELECTED BY THEM. RON, JOHN AND JAMES DOES NOT HAVE A POT TO PEE IN FAR LESS HAVING THE BRAIN AND KNOWLEDGE TO RUN THIS COUNTRY. THEY ARE LIKE THE THREE STOOGES WHO ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO PROVE TO THE OTHER HOW STUPID THE OTHER-ONE IS. SO THE BEST WAY TO TREAT A FOOL IS TO IGNORE THE FOOL.

  20. Respect for the Law
    December 15, 2010

The Honorable Prime Minister was wrong to have contested the General Elections when he is aware of the Laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica with regards to persons with dual citizenship. He is also aware of the implications for so doing. He is so aware of his wrong doing that he acted post haste to denounce his French citizenship after the fact. In his case he breached the Law knowing it was wrong to do so, and acted recklessly with his pronouncements. He should be aware that while Dominicans appreciate his good work for which he must be applauded and commended, wrong is wrong. Now the matter is before the courts and let us see how the moral authority of true and unbiased jurisprudence will handle this matter? Let’s wait and see if the Honorable Law Courts can be trusted? Let’s see if the constitution of the Commonwealth of Dominica will be upheld in the high esteem and with the legal and moral authority with which it was built? Respect for the Law is not a choice, it’s a moral responsibility and when the leader of government breaches any instrument of the law…he/she is not above the law. Let our coonscience guide us…this is a tremendous loss for Dominica.

SMH at the stupidity and absurdity that Dominicans become part of. I hope the comments on DNO do not reflect the majority of Dominican people, cause if it did … IT’S NOT A PRETTY PICTURE

The comments here are so anger based, biased and follows a trend of…let’s show the world how Dominicans never move forward.

This election has divided the country and it seems to going heading to a climax. One party is trying to instigate fear and unrest.

One is trying to move the country forward but taking dangerous short cuts

At the end of the day…. none of them is for Dominica…one is for BLUE and one is for RED.

I wonder when the true Dominicans will open their eyes and instead of fighting try to move the country forward.

Maybe my opinion doesn’t matter – but even though i am Canadian, I AM DOMINICAN and my interest in Dominica is for my fmaily back there…not for those sitting in foreign having the so called better life.

So it’s up to the residents of Dominica to stand up and take back Dominica form ALL the crooked RED, GREEN and BLUE politicians

Who said that other countries are much better than Dominica? To only a certain degree. Dominica has many advantages. Other countries also have many advantages. I always state, none are to be compared with each other. Each one has unique qualities.
People overseas have as many concerns and anxiety about politics, crimes, cost of living, higher taxes and the list goes on.
They may see matters in a different light. Residing in specifically bigger and progressive countries, they may have become broad-minded due to exposure to such matters, what they have heard, read about through the general Media and due to the experience.
People abroad are not seeing more misery. Who are they you assume are posting a bunch of s…?, a word which you should never use. Be respectful.
Face it, everyone thinks differently. There are no two people alike. They should all practice this: “Free to agree and disagree amicably.” You would do well to adopt it.
Dominicans overseas still take an interest in their country. Thanks to DON they are able to do so. Do not try to deprive them of this privilege. In any case, you are not able to do so.

    December 15, 2010

Mr. Skerrit the issue is not about mandate but legitimacy. Are you the legitimate leader of Dominica? That is the question the courts have to rule on.

You said that ‘.If an election were to be called in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015… in 2025 the Labour party will be returned to office with a resounding mandate again,” he said.

The UWP has said it will hold a ‘people’s assembly’ on Friday outside the Financial Centre in Roseau to protest Skerrit’s “illegal election” to office, among other issues.

“These attempts to create unease and civil unrest in Dominica will not work because the people of Dominica are seeing through the selfish attitude of Ron Green, Edison James and Hector John,” Skerrit said

Thease are very irreponsible statements by you…you are the one that is inciting riot and unrest, You have lost your legitimacy.. There is a lot more to come out on you. I am prepared to wait for the courts. .Either way you are done..Lets hope no one gets hurt or killed on the streets in the process..

Skerrit must stop speaking his nonsense and deal with pertinent issues. The call for his resignation was not and is not based on the mandate he got in Dec. 2009 nor on performance. It is based on CHEATING or BRAKING THE LAW OF THE LAND. I do not know what Skerrit means by “The way we have been able to manage the affairs.” Do you think Dominicans are so stupid? How have you manage our affairs? Yes, you have the world looking at us because of your curruption; your investment is more than you salary; You declared Bird Island as the rightful property of Venezuella without the knowledge of the general public. Who knows what you got for it? You seem to be trying to use the report that surfaced last weak reguarding the surplus. However, I am not fooled by that because if my 25 year old son brings a lot of money home and cannot tell me how he got it I will conclude that the means is illegal. So yes, a surplus is possible but what have you been doing that we do not know about? How could you be such a good PM and Dominicans continue to leave in poverty and most have to depend on you and your Red Clinic to give them Turkey and Ham? My understanding of development leads me to believe that unless the people are better off then their is no development. Building Roads where nationals are not employed, Widsor Park where the people were not employed, spending so much money on Melville Hall to accomodate WINAIR and their 13 passangers cannot be seen as development. Only dumb fools will swallow that pill. Bye the way, you are the government of the day and who do you expect to do stuff? Patirick John did when he was in power, so did Miss Charles and Eddison. Infact UWP did so much in 4.5years that the late PM Rossie Douglas said on DBS Radio after the 2000 elections that they did not lose it because they did not perform because they performed. During the said elections he went as far as saying that he does not know where they are getting money from. When UWP paid for land for the international airport your main body, Tony Astaphan expressed similar sentiments. So I don’t know what you are talking about. We want you out because you have set a very bad examples for our young people because your dealings have implied that laws anot to be respected as long as they have money they escape. That is wrong and that’s why I want you out!!!

Health… how much has been really done to improve the health sector. There is a lot needed that has yet been done. Just recently a a well known doctor and local entrepreneur was turned down from opening a medical school in his homeland. Think of the possibilities. More options for medical education on the island, locally owned, a lot more young people may have the opportunity to get into medical school hoping that it is not as expensive as the others. And with that, in future Dominica may have qualified doctors in various fields. How long do we need to continue to endure high expenses to travel overseas to receive medical care. Further more Just as Ross university is doing, it creates more job opportunities and more investment and development within the area the university is built. The reason for turning this project down was that there are already 2 medical universities. If that was the real reason.. well alas

When the late Pierre Charles stated that Dominicans were wearing their ignorance as a badge of honor, he was castigated and ostracised for insulting the nation now every fool in opposition to PM Skerrit are using that exact quote to justify their folly
So what if PM Skerrit resigns the vitriol will only be directed at his successor, this will never stop until the UWP gets into office and the great Journalist gets the job he so desperate craves. Ambassador to the U.N

It is sad to see the comments posted on here and even sadder that you my people don’t see the point at hand. This is not a DLP issue or a UWP issue, it is a CONSTITUTIONAL ISSUE. The FACT is that a crime was committed and that he acquired his current position fradulently. Think of it – so many people out there still claiming Barak Obama wasn’t born in Hawaii (thus saying he isn’t a born US Citizen) others are saying that because he lived in Indonesia as a CHILD he isn’t eligible to be president, and that because he had dual citizenship, again as a CHILD, and which he gave up at 15yrs (his dad was British, his mom American) he wasn’t eligible to be president. We all accepted that these people are foolish because we have proof that the Obama is a US Citizen, we have proof that he gave up his British/Nigerian citizenship as a teenager, waaaaaay before he even went to law school. Do you think that if for ONE minute someone comes out and says Obama isn’t a US born Citizen or that he only gave up his dual citizen a year AFTER he became president that he would have feet to stand on to say he not resigning? Do you think that for one second he would remain in office despite his hundred of thousands of supporters?

We all know that would not be the case, yet the Prime Minister of Dominica violated the constitution of the island and you idiots are sitting there patting him on the back. I could sit there and not care because I became an American citizen years ago, but fact remain I AM a dual citizen and Dominica IS my home country and it is very sad to see the state of affairs in which we are currently. There is so much political wrong doing, so much political bias and even sadder so many Dominicans who refuse to come foward and say when wrong is wrong.

I pray that for the sake of Dominica, Dominicans open their eyes and stand up for what is right before it is too late.

you are an idiot ,no one ever said you can’t have more than 1 passport. the stems from the fact that the constitution states if you are a dual citizen you can’t run for public office unless you renounce the one that disqualifies you before the time of running for public office. if you don’t understand something don’t fing comment. gas man.

MR SKERRIT: Power has caused you to lose every sense of reason..You are not the ultimate decider who determines whether you resign or not..You supporters dressed in red are not the ultimate deciders who will determine whether you resign or not.It is not a position of strength 18-3 which will determine whether you resign or not.It is not according to you whether Dominicans are seeing through the selfish attitude of Ron and co.,Even if i’ts just half a brain you have left, because of you countless sleepless nights, you should understand that if you have trampled upon the constitution,if you have relegated it to irrelevance, this is unbecoming of you as PM,who had sworn to uphold it,and it’s the power of the court and the people that will cause you to resign. It’s not only the opposition calling for your resignation either.Level headed Dominicans are also doing so.
You are now the biggest distraction to Dominica’s progress and development presently Sir,not the opposition..The opposition hates civil unrest, but you are the one fuelling it…REMEMBER YOU ARE NOT THE ULTIMATE DECIDER DETERMINING WHETHER OR NOT YOU RESIGN…IT IS WE THE LOVERS OF WAITIKUBULI….

It is cold outside in NY and what better to do than get a good laugh at the expense of my brothers and sisters in my beautiful land call Dominica. You guys must remember the PM is human and is allowed to make mistakes. I am not taking sides because my vote would not count in DA but my roots are still in DA. If i had to grade the PM i would give him an A for bringing people like me back to Dominica to spend our hard earn us dollars. I have read alot of negative stuff on the internet but i haven’t seen any proof. I cannot go by what i hear Hector and green say. lets come together and make DA the place we all know it have potential of being. If Hector don’t like what is going on he can go back to NY to his one bedroom apt in the south Bronx. My fellow new yorkers can relate. Skerrit is in the driver seat for now so our best bet is to seat and enjoy the ride i think it will be a smooth one base on what he is doing with the grants we are getting. 58. Nice Boy
    December 15, 2010

I am not a psychologist but the PM is not convincing at all. In fact one can sense that he is admitting guilt. He says he will not resign and his only reason is that the people gave him the mandate to lead the country. So his only reason for not resigning is because he was elected “ Overwhelmingly”.. I believe that the people voted the labor party not one man and the PM is essentially implying that he is the messiah of Dominican politics.; that no other person within the DLP can be PM. Wrong!!!!!.
The PM has this attitude of Entitlement and he is so wrong because we have a constitution that everyone must adhere too. Whether or not 50 thousand people like skerrit the law takes precedence. Again the arrogance of the PM is continuing to be more damaging and insulting. “ No constitution , no law can prevent I Roosevelt Skerrit from getting nominated” – such arrogance.

“ In spite of breaking the law and being negligent the people like me so I shall not resign “ What a narcissistic idiot.

Didn’t Patrick John, who was more popular than you, said the same exact thing?.”I will not resign”.???…………..Power tends to corrupt indeed…….Absolutely.
Let me tell you what’s “absurd” and “ridiculous”,EL Skerro, …Your own words and action, when you arrogantly stated that..” no law” and “no Constitution”,can prevent you from running for office in the last election, when you clearly knew for a fact, that you were a Citizen of a foreign Country. A clear violation and breach of the Constitution and the Laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica…..None the less, you went right ahead.

The reckless, and blatantly arrogant way,in which you viciously and maliciously violated and undermined The Constitution and the Laws of the Country . And the exhibition of such contempt is valid and sufficient grounds for your immediate resignation….If per chance, you, at anytime between then and now, you have mustered any semblance of respect for the Constitution and Laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica, and its People, you should bow your head in shame, ask for the People for their forgiveness, and tender your resignation from the Office of the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica……forthwith……Nothing more, nothing less….
Yes the People gave you a mandate because they were ignorant of the facts and information that have now….in other words if they knew then what they do now, i am quite sure the results would have been very different……..
” THE AFTERNOON KNOWS WHAT THE MORNING NEVER EXPECTED”….Always…..

And UWP doh want you to ever cross d floor to join Skerrit where at least you can get some training from madam speaker to meet and greet dignitaries that matter.

People there is only one God.. and thats the Almighty father in heaven. Thou shall have no other god but him. Skerrit has his good and bad. I believe he can do a lot for the country. He is making a difference positively and negatively. He is human and cannot be perfect. He emphasizes on education and tourism which I applaud him for. but he has killed the agriculture industry. which is a shame. cause Dominica and its resources are so rich and gratifying. I hope the agriculture sector revives soon before we loose any hope of retaining it. But back to my point… stop acting like skerrit is your god by making him feel he is above all. He has to be in check and know the people put him there cause they believe in him and they can take him out when he really messes up. Wrong is wrong. And he should be dealt with according to the law and be made an example of. If this is simply swept under the rug. Then all hope and pride and love for country is deteriorating.

Merrick you must give DBS a share of your profits for all that money they making you make.

    ADMIN
I know who you are (SMH). Yes, and CMC, and all the other media houses who LEGALLY quote from a media house and credit the info, like we do. Saw CNN quoting stories from BBC, and BBC quoting stories from newspapers.

    • hmmmm
      December 15, 2010

Give me a break with this BS…DBS is state owned media which means when Skerrit talks to DBS he is talking to the entire nation including media. The rest of the media has every right to pick it up.

Why do people comment on things they have no understanding of.

    • D
      December 15, 2010

That is a rather silly comment….unecessary criticism. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using information from stories broadcast or printed in other media. As long as due credit is given, it is acceptable and common practice.

CMC, for example, uses inserts from DBS and other stations across the region on a daily basis to write their stories.

Have you ever visited a TV Station specifically in the news programming department? All have every television channel of every country on, specifically one country having all the stations of other areas/province in that country. Reason for this is to get firsthand news of what is occurring, to relay to viewers/the public. Every one of them repeat news that was broadcasted and/or printed through other Media outlets. This is not surprising and no one should criticize others for doing this. It is the norm and to be expected.

    • O Boy
      December 15, 2010

You seem not to have respect for your elders, family or people on a whole. You acused the PM of being a volear, when people do that this is what they see themselves as so they try to hide using calling people the names that suits them instead of the people. So in that case, this might be your trait and your looking for a scapegoat to hide it. Have respect

      • Man

          To Man

And who do you think you are to pass that judgement? However, I am sure you have given quite a few people, including myself, the reason to think the same way about you, based on your ill-mannered expression against the Prime Minister of your own country.

      • Hey just giving my two cents
        December 15, 2010

O Boy true say. I think so myself. I have experienced this myself. When persons calls you names without any proof, they are actually calling you names that suits them. And most times when they think evil or bad about you without prooof, it is because that is the way they would behave in a similar position. Man again you need to show some respect. Do not support the PM but respect persons so you will likewise be respected. Be respectful in your comments even if you don’t support the PM. Make some meaningful contribution on DNO. You might be thrust into position one day. Would you like persons to call you those derogatory names?

Respect I call for Respect for our Father, ourselves, Elders and everyone we come in contact every day. We can oppose without being disrespectful

If he resigns the court matter still goes on. If he loses then criminal action can be taken against him and the penalty could be a ban from future participation in the electoral process.

One thing I must say though, you people fail to see how this guy lies to Dominicans. He claimed that he got his citizenship when he was a child. You all believed him. Today, we are providing the evidence to show that he lied to you once again, but all you people could see is that he can win another elections! What a Nation!

    • chiensal
      December 15, 2010

One question. Was a crime committed? If so then a charge or jail time will prevent him from contesting again. Best i steal and when I am caught I should just return the goods and I will stay a free man. Is that the PM doing and it works.
