Does all the hooplah really matter since the government has the power to appoint anyone as chairperson?

Anyway Mr. Coipel serve your people well regardless.

    September 18, 2013

Mr Coipel must understand the rules of council election he knows the minister dont appoint a chair man , it is after 3 individuals are selected by the minister , that they sit with the five elected members and vote for a chairman among them the minister have nothing to do with that , I voted coipel ,but he is uprising me ,he must remember he could not keep C A H U R together it failed, NOW HE IS TALKING ABOUT PROTEST, SIMEON DID NOT LOST AT THE POLES COIPEL GOT 187 VOTES SIMEON GOT 178 VOTES so why mr coipel u are saying canefield people rejected him and he won, can u explain, U BROUGHT POLITICS IN THE COUNCIL STOP YOUR BITTERNESS ALWAYS REMEMBER C A H U R WAS A FAILURE UNDER YOUR LEADERSHIP, I VOTED YOU MY FAMILY VOTED U BUT I REGRET I EVER DID

Remember people that at a Council election people vote for 5 candidates not one. 187 for M C,181 M T
179 J M P and Simeon Albert 178 Copiel lead by only 9 votes so how did Simeon lost 187/178 is the same amount both of them have a 1 an 8 and a 7 so any how you turn it is Albert and the M C that tie so Albert should continue as the chairman The M C cant lead any thing he killed CAHAU he could not even organize a demonstration if is on that those greedy for power thinking they going to win election think again for not even dream the UWP can dream they are in Government.

But wait! You mean to tell me less than 200 people voted and that is a victory for UWP? How many persons are on the voters list in Canefield? We need to hear statistics. Local government must be separated from central government. Too much party politics.

There is always a recount. Be it a council or national elections. Check the laws governing such.

  17. Curious
    September 17, 2013

One vote can make a difference between winning during General Elections so why isn’t 8 votes significant enough to say the people made their choice?.

    September 17, 2013

If I was in Skeritt’s place, I would take those results very seriously. A member of the executive, a persons who has been trying to convince Dominicans regularly how great the labor Government is performing and to have lost a important election just before the next General Election, must signal a serious alarm. I must caution Mr. Coipel, expect the going to be rough until the UWP gets into office. Three strikes for Mr.Lennox Linton because, we know on which political party’s ship Mr. Coipel is sailing . First, the discarding of AliX Knights, second, the massive crowd in lagoon and third, the defeat of Simeon, executive member of the DLP.

      September 17, 2013

@Fool ur Selves: I believe you are the one being fooled. What has the urban council elections to do with blue and red and blackmoore? Urban council elections is not about party politics.

It was also used in the Roseau City Council when a famous Grove Lady became Mayor. Remember, it was between 1995-2000. We have selected memories, don’t we?

Who did the Freedom Party instilled as Mayor of Portmouth. Please backup your statement. Stop blaming others and examine your own actions.Freedom Party was 39 years ago yet we justify our failures on we what Freedom Party did 30 years ago .
My friend it seems like your party is emulating what is to you the bad things done by the Freedom Party what about the great thngs that was done by the Freedom Party. Thus far your party has not met a fraction of the economic prosperity that Freedom Party brought to Dominica.
