Statement from His Excellency The President on the passing of Dominica’s first Prime Minister

Statement from His Excellency Charles A Savarin, DAH
President of the Commonwealth of Dominica on the sad Occasion
of the Passing of the First Prime Minister of the Commonwealth Of Dominica

I was deeply saddened upon hearing the news of the passing on Tuesday, 6th July 2021, of former Prime Minister Honourable Patrick Roland John at the Dominica China Friendship (DCF) Hospital.

Honourable Patrick John held several ministerial posts and succeeded E.O. Leblanc as Premier in 1974. During his premiership, Dominica gained independence from the United Kingdom on 3rd November 1978 and he became the first Prime Minister of Dominica.

His contribution to Dominica’s political independence will never be forgotten. Patrick John also made a tremendous
contribution in the areas of industrial relations and sports development, particularly during his stint as President of the Dominica Football Association (DFA). It was under his leadership that the DFA became a FIFA affiliate.

The Government and people of the Commonwealth of Dominica join Mrs. Savarin and myself in conveying to the bereaved wife Desiree who is currently a patient at the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital being treated for a leg injury; to his granddaughter Kordelle Jean-Jacques who is a staff member of the Office of the President; and to his children and extended family, our condolences on this very sad occasion. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

My wife Clara and myself, extend our very best wishes for the quick and full recovery of the bereaved wife.

And who might that be ‘His Excellency’. These are common gangsters that do not deserve Titels like Excellency or Honorable. Do call these people by their names, that’s all they deserve at best.

To whoever find the comments attached to this article to be inflammatory or disrespectful or angry, or hateful please pay close attention to the HEADLINE. [Statement From His Excellency…..] The subject is the actual cause that evoked such emotions and set the tone to what followed. In the other 3 headlines elsewhere stating the passing of the once Prime Minister and father of the Independent Nation there is no such outbursts. Due to no fault of DNO the fusion of those two names in one sentence did elicit a reaction. It was a Headline Effect on those who love Mr. John ( the little man of the people until..) dearly for his service on behalf of the Commonwealth and the ‘person’ who caused him collective grief within months after his epic achievement. It took the essence of the mournful moment away momentarily. SORRIEE!

Look the Dominica Judas come out in the open for all to see! The real traitors and betrayers of the Dominican people! Those who destroyed Patrick John and his dream for the poor in Dominica are today masquerading as caring while they live in mansions and make millionaires of themselves on the backs of the poor! But when Dominicans rise up again!

    Liar Savarin

    Two birds of a feather.

Its amazing to read the words of Mr Savarin regarding Former PM Patrick John. After they made the man’s life a living hell in the 70- 80s.. Yes PJ was no saint but he made amends for his errors yet not even a lil side walk was named after the man who went to England making Dominica an independent nation.. One must not forget that back then Dominica had no0 shoulders to lean on…….
Right now, every Tom, Dick and Harry coming out to sing PJ praises now that he is dead….. It makes one wonder whats the sense of giving up your life and everything for public life in Dominica?
The government has one must say under PM Skerrit did help PJ with his health expenses and so forth to be truthful. To say name the international airport after PJ is like that will take forever.
Look on facebook all of dem posting sympathies lolll. Is at the funeral you will see drama and Hypocrisy. Like they now come to real that PJ was living. Hypocrites..

If only God had given me the power to do what he did with Lazarus when he died I would bring PJ back like he was in his prime just so he could put a serious Ahse whopping on the said “walking proudly” man.

What is wrong with you all? Do you know what you do to yourself promoting all this hatred? Move on … and let us build a nation together. Too much politics have you people hostile, bitter, and all the negatives preventing love and togetherness.

This is death – lost loved ones. Can you continue to be bitter? Get better because we are in this world for a time and to show love to one another is expected of us.
Jaytay tout bagai politics sa la and do something positive and tangible to show love to your fellow citizen

Go and tell that to PM Roosevelt Skerrit and those Labour supporters who like to call Dominicans who do not agree with their ways traitors and call for violence against people who disagree with them!

These two guys, the President and the Prime Minister, one is an imposter and the other a charlatan. Their sanctimonious statements are bereft of empathy.

In fact, listening to Mr. Skerrit’s statement , his statement was incoherent and done in a matter of fact manner.

However, the leader of the opposition, Mr. Lennox Linton, in his tribute to PJ was solemn, coherent, thoughtful and spoke from deep within the heart. His words brought solace to all who mourn the passing of Prime Minister Patrick John.

As usual, DNO has failed to publish these most comforting remarks. No surprise at all. DNO has gone all-in on the other side.

ADMIN: We have not received any statement from the UWP/Linton. We actually have someone attempting to reach out to them right now.

    • July 7, 2021

Ibo France, you must be one sorry and frustrated …… You really have something against Savarin and Skerrit. Patrick John paid for what he did which was wrong and so did Frederick Newtown when he had an appointment with the hangman. Nothing you say or do will move Skerrit or Savarin. Make peace with yourself and wish the man’s family well.

TRUTH hurts LIARS! I just speak the TRUTH and the LIARS think it is HELL.

Again, I want to reiterate even though I will incur the wrath of the sycophants of the Perpetual Liars (Roosevelt & Charles), these two could murder someone and sweep uncontrollably at the victim’s burial. I’m unapologetically confident about this.

And let me add that the current president tormented PJ during his time as Prime minister and then the president went to hide out in Brussels whilst the country tried to recover from the devastations.

Jonathan u too living in the past as well. Let go and move on. Why be bitter when you can get better.

New horizons, New era, New motives will see you get better. You cannot be so political all year round. When are you and your family coming to DA? I hoping to see you.

Partner, please stabilize yourself…Spread love as your mum taught you!

Love to you all out there!

@Truth Be Told, are you suggesting that there isn’t need for history and looking back! Well those who don’t look back are apt to repeat the errors of the past. I know that and wish you would appreciate that importance. Now, I don’t have time to focus on you nor your family. Be a man/woman and identify yourself with your real name as I’m proud to do. Chicken! Don’t expect me and my family to announce when we come to visit Dominca. It’s none of your damn business. Get a life and focus on the topic at hand. Stop waddling in the weeds and the gutter.

WICKED!! SHAMELESS!!!! This statement is shameful of a president up till today is condoning wrong doing and supporting everything he, the president, encouraged Dominicans to stand against PJ for. Mr. President Sir you have no morale substances to support your statement.

      Patriot R E L A X!
Now is a time of bereavement, not your hyper-insensitive hateful statement.

One cannot remain standing in one place all the time. So now let us all show love respect and compassion for persons in authority. You may need some respect in the future.

Come on Patriot! Not just use the word but show patriotism and not hateful, spiteful, name-calling! Just saying that this political foolishness should stop.
Support who you want and respect others’ choices. Let’s live in harmony and peace with each other.

GOD DEFENDS AND PROJECTS HIS OWN

The God of PJ’s strength, in whom he trusted; your shield and the horn of your salvation, his stronghold and my refuge; his Saviour, You saved him from the BACKBITERS and VIOlENCE he called upon you LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so he shall be saved from his enemies.
    —————————————
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

He was another victim of colonialism. Britain appeared to be doing him a favor by making him the 1st prime minister, then abandoned him with a population of high illiteracy they created, and zero manufacturing while killing his lime production from #1 worldwide to importing limes. A perfect, well thought out recipe for the poverty they inflicted.

A classic case of the dual nature of Dr Jerkyl and Mr Hyde in our midst today; outwardly good: “I was deeply saddened…..” and the shockingly evil, peddler of extreme violence and apocalyptical destruction he caused on the streets of Roseau aimed at the deceased PM and others in yesteryears. “Get out or DIE!” A lead player in both the poisoning and darkening of the political career of the late Prime Minister Roland Patrick John. Tch! Tch! Tch! I sure hope he visited Mr. John at his bedside and made an apology for all that he caused him. It would have been the Christian thing to do to make amends for his Presidential Darkside.

Let bygones be bygones you people who are hell-bent on going to the next level with those hard hearts. Now is love! Est ce que Dominica alone that went through turmoils?

Instead of dwelling on the past, look at the different DA from the colonial DA and appreciate the strides made. Be grateful to Papa Bondieu that we live to see these times.

Unforgiveness is a cancer that gnaws at your soul and can cause the loss of your salvation.

Humble yourselves and accept what happened in the past. It cannot be undone no matter how much you talk about it. This is History and no need to equate it to a time of bereavement

Now you are smiling under your nose after bringing down The Dominica Labour Party led by Mr. Patrick John.

Just wish the First PM’s family condolences. Most persons have made peace with themselves and others. Now is your turn to put away the bygones. You cannot undo anything so do not dwell on them. Dwelling on thing done and cannot be changed tend to inflict pain, hatred, and strife in those who refuse to lay down the burden of hatred and all the other ills harboring them.

Peace to you braindamage. Don’t allow the stress of life to damage any more of your brain cells!

Let us spread love and joy and work together for a Better Dominica
