Thomson Fontaine, Lennox Linton and Joshua Francis recently met Dominicans in the diaspora

The United Workers Party (UWP) is expected to meet visiting and returning Dominicans at the Public Service Union Hall on Tuesday from 10:00 am

This follows the recent overseas visits, where Team Dominica met with Dominicans in Washington, New York, New Jersey, Miami, Atlanta, and Huston in the US, as well as Dominicans in Paris and London.

“The United Workers Party Team Dominica is very interested in the matters affecting all our Dominicans overseas, as well as our returnees,” MP for Roseau Central, Norris Prevost, said. “We therefore invite visiting Dominicans and returned Dominicans of all Political and religious views to attend this very important meeting.”

According to Prevost, “UWP Team Dominica recognizes the tremendous contribution our people abroad are making to their families here at home, and to Dominica’s development as a whole. We also recognizes that our Dominicans living overseas and returnees as well, have their own concerns that UWP Team Dominica, as the incoming Government must understand, and commit ourselves to address.”

He said the meeting will be a ‘two-way conversation.’

“The format of this UWP Team Dominica meeting with visiting Dominicans and returnees will be a two-way conversation between Team Dominica and our visiting and returned Dominicans,” he noted. “We will not just come and talk to our visiting Dominicans, and don’t allow them to ask us questions. The leaders of the UWP Team Dominica will update visitors and answer questions on the plans and policies it intends to implement in Government. Team Dominica will share with them, some of the important actions they and us together, as Dominicans who love our Country, can take to strengthen and protect our Democracy and our freedoms, and help rescue our Dominica”.

Expected to be present at the meeting will be Political leader of UWP, Lennox Linton; Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition, Hector John; former Prime Minister of Dominica and MP for Marigot, Edison James; former Minister of Tourism and MP for Roseau Central, Norris Prevost; former Minister of Education, Ron. Green; Danny Lugay, UWP candidate for Roseau North; Ronnie Isidore, UWP candidate for Mahaut; Senator Ezekiel Bazil, President of UWP and candidate for Wesley; former Senator Claudius Sanford, Deputy Political Leader and UWP candidate for Kalinago Territory; Urban Baron, former DLP Member of Parliament and now UWP candidate for Petite Savanne, and other UWP Team Dominica candidates.

Dr Fountain has already said he is willing to make public his “PRIVATE” banking records so rather than trying to score cheap political points while seeming to be concerned about honesty and accountability is a red herring which betrays you as a dishonest person.

Had you also called for skerrit to reveal his bank accounts you might just sound believable.

He can’t and he will not under any circumstance or he might present statements that raises as many questions as the DAAS statements. An audit is not out of the question.

The issue of Fontaine transfering funds from the DAAS acct to his personal acct has nothing to do with Skeritt. One can request that Skeritt make his financial information available, if he does he will only give the information that was submitted to the IPO information which the UWP based on public utterances is not satisfied with. So Mr. Fontaine has been given an opportunity to come clean on the DAAS issue by making public his finances, if he has spoken the truth and has nothing to hide he should do better than Skeritt and make public his true statement of accounts.

Now we know that transparency, good governance and accountability was meant to fool Dominicans. A good leader leads by example. Linton needs to follow the advice he has been trying to give to the PM. Uwp supporters keep burying your head in the sand.

WAY TO GO TEAM DOMINICA!! Now these are inspirational leaders!

I’m still trying to see the effective leadership you talk about. Your team cannot show basic leadership by taking care of a simple matter which concerns accountability and transparency which are the qualities you all claim you were promoting in your political campaign. I’m talking about the Thomson Fontaine affair. It it plain to see by all that some form of wrongdoing was committed. Be advised, it can only get worse as new information continues to surface.

@Anonymous. For the past 13 years the Dominican public have been asking for transparency from your Laborrats leadership but to no avail. Let me remind you of some of the words your leader used when asked for transparency: It’s none of your damn business: Go to hell: No law no constitution can prevent me from doing as i please. Sounds familiar?
Dr. Fontaine has clearly offered to release all his bank records providing that your incompetent leader accepts his challenge to debate the issues. If you want to see the Bank records, tell your Dimples to come and show us how inept he is.

        February 24, 2014

        @fact

So what are you saying? You all don’t have to be transparent because the DLP are not. I believe that was you all’s claim that is why you all chose to run on a platform of good governance, accountability and transparency. Now is time for you all to practice what you preach.

After all, you all are not even in government yet and already you all are failing to execute a basic function. What can we expect if you all get into government? We need to see you all lead by example.

        @ Nac vibes
If you stop responding then I might believe you are not listening.

You all are not doing Thomson Fontaine any favors. The more you all resist and bury your heads in the sand. The more Thomson gets exposed. He might be exposed to criminal prosecution. You all might want to think about that.

Great leadership Linton. Keep it up.
