Leader of the United Workers Party Ron Green says members of his party are anxiously awaiting the 2010/11 budget presentation.
Although the UWP members did not take their oath of office and are not being represented in parliament, Green said the UWP would want to see what Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit is proposing.
“It is clear that the economy in Dominica is continuing to go down, jobs and opportunities for our people and the agriculture industry are all crashing down. We will make our contribution because we would want to see what Prime Minister Skerrit is proposing to do about what he has been unable to do over the number of years,” Green said.
The 2010/11 budget is carded for July 13, 2010.

Mr.Green prepare the alternative budget and stop wasting time on what you do not see yet.You sound like young got no work to do so you seat waiting.what a bright opposition leader.

So, on July 13th 2010, the winners of the by-election will be sworn in, a Leader of the Opposition will be elected by the opposition parliamentary representative(s) and 4 opposition Senators will be nominated by the leader and they will be sworn in. Isn’t that progress? Good move comrade!
With regards to the budget, make sure that you have your proposals to move the country forward. Don’t just rely on criticism of the government’s proposals. Remember that the global economy is crashing. The USA, Japan, Greece, Spain, Portugal and France,among others, are in a financial crisis with record levels of unemployment. Many of these countries, particularly the EC members, are our traditional markets. Our agricultural trade hinges on their generosity.
We look forward to your participation. One sour note, though; the Leader of the Opposition may become the party leader and he has to be an elected Parliamentary Representative. It won’t be you, Ron. But you and Dr. Wiltshire can be great Senators. Are you giving Mrs. Judith Pestaina a ride to Parliament? She too can be a great Senator but that might be the beginning of the end for the UWP as political force.
Where have all the brained-washed ‘Skerrites’ gone? I’m thinking to the ‘Church of Skerrite’ praising their personality cult leader, then they will come in full force bashing anyone who sees things in a logical way. Let’s see how many thumbs-down I will get from those cultists.
