Congrats young blood. Represent your pride and respect and do not be afraid to stand up to the higher powers. Also seek the millions from Venezuela, make that be on top of your list. That kind of money can help everyone in the territory.

Not so fast my Kalinago peopler. A plurality vote is too controversial to be a final decision. When the final count is so close there should be a run-off between the top two vote getters.

This is too important an election to be decided by only three votes. Unless the second place candidate concedes the right thing to do is to have a run-off where the ultimate winning candidate will have the majority (more than 50%) of the votes cast.

@Nacidimod,…..You sound like one of the uwp leaders who cannot accept defeat. In Dominica we observe a simple majority and do not have the electoral college to steal elections. No one is going to shout election is not free and fair and deserve electoral reform or no election without reform.
This election is historical and should be a guide line to showcase our ability to have free and fair elections.
It also show that the claims of opposition leaders that election is not free and fair is null and void.
It show that we can have the general elections under the present system which have been in existence for over 50 years.
The playing field was free, fair and even for all seven candidates and 1147 voters.
What is good for the goose must good for the gander. If it was good for local election it must be good for general elections.

Remember that you are in office to serve all the people and not some.
Remember that you do not run things! The Kalinagos together run things.
Lead with honesty, integrity and probity! Don’t lie, cheat, steal etc.
Don’t use your position to impoverish those who voted for you.

I hope that with a new cheif, he could put pressure on the government about that 4 million that the territory was supposed to receive. If somebody gives me a gift to give you I cannot hold it back and say “is rum you used to get and I give you house so doe ask about that money”, or “I do the most for allu, so what you asking me for that money for? that’s just flat out disrespectful.

I’m not sure how serious the Pm will take him, my only concern. I’m really interested to see if this gets swept under the rug cause if they people were given a gift, it can’t just be used for election campaign or whatever, give the
indigenous people what is due to them.

I want to openly say strongly that comments must be one of opportunity, advice, camaraderie, and no upheavals with one against one, or attempting to create any animosity within competitors during a decent democratic elections.
I want to strongly recommend, in particular for this young incoming Carib Chief Lorenzo Sanford, as young as he is, but with some ideas to address the youth, families, vulnerable people etc. There is potential for the Carib Territory and that is where all previous Carib Chiefs offer some sound advice and support to Lorenzo, a young, enthusiastic, committed and ready to work hard and in partnership with previous chiefs and other competent people and resources within the Carib Territory. The territory needs sound leadership and a visible, operational, active, and trusted Carib Council. This and the leadership are key to its survival and develoment of the Carib Territory. You all owe it to the people of the Territory. God Luck and always seek advice from outside.

Congratulations young man! I hope you will go on to empower your people so they will use their innate talents and intelligence to fend for themselves. Be fair to all, give a lending ear to those who wish to contribute to the proper functioning of your territory. Be a guiding light for the entire country as to the ways a governing entity should operate. Show humility, have a vision, be consultative, be people oriented, be morally and ethically above board. The very best of success to you and your fellow Kalinago people.

Bwa-Banday, I concur with you point fully. Chef Lorenzo Sanford, you are a young man, you need some mature people to guide, like a trusted Team to assist you in the plan you wish to pursue for your people. The people of the Carib Territory must be elevated.
“……Controlling their future by voting for Dr. Sanford and the wining Team UWP in the upcoming elections. The Carib Territory needs to be disciplined with a strong sound mind that CT moves forward and its people engaged in its development. I wish to refer you to a very sound person who once served as DDO for your area and got the funds to construct the hospital in Salybia. This is a highly professional, dedicated man. His name is Francis Joseph, his e mail address is [email protected]. (I need you to e mail him, introduce yourself). You will be well guided. I know him well and I have been privileged to dialogue with him on matters of Local Government and Social Development, and the protection of children and families.

I can’t speak to Dr Sanford but I knew someone who brought food and water to the Kalinago people 3 weeks after the hurricane. They had received NOTHING and seen NOBODY. they were in tears.
Leblanc knew Dominicans well when he said they had “MEMOIRE POULE”
