Meanwhile guitarist Cameron Pierre the only bonafide jazz musician in Dominica was not invited, in fact he was offered a fringe event which turned down……..
They should rebrand.
Creole at Cabrits
Bouyon on the Battlements
Something like that.
You can’t call it a jazz festival if theres no jazz – not even at the socalled fringe events.
I can’t help thinking about people who may have journeyed here specifically for the event. After all that’s what the Tourism people are forever boasting about. They spend all that money on travel and hotels only to discover that the jazz festival has no jazz. I wouldnt be surprised if some people were inclined to sue the organisers for compensation.
Thumbs up to Dominica Tourism – they’ve created a jazz festival with no jazz! Not embarrassing at all. Only in Dominica.
The venue would have the organizers of jazz festivals throughout the world envious.
But they would have jazz rather than “melodies” on their agenda.
It seems to me that Dominicans are all getting geared up to have a wonderful time at yet another fete (and good for them) whereas all the visitors are asking why there is no jazz. It’s all very strange.
Ah no biggie, they just didn’t ask St.Lucia how to add Jazz.
All it’s missing is jazz!
