Dominica State College

The Dominica State College has announced that they are prepared for the complete return of face-to-face learning, which began on February 27, 2023.

Beginning Monday, February 27, 2023, we started welcoming students back on campus. Freshers /Freshmen Day which is targeted at our January applicants will be on Tuesday, February 28.

On Wednesday, [March 1], we will welcome back to campus our returning students for classes based on their class schedules,” said Monelle Alexis, Public Relations and Student Recruitment Officer of the Dominica State College.

“We express our profound gratitude to students in our Carpentry and Construction, Building and Civil Engineering, and Architectural Technology programs for supporting our maintenance department in repairing over five hundred pieces of furniture destined to meet the needs of faculty and students. We thank the students and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding during this period.”

Face-to-face learning is the first and foremost approach to learning considered by educators for imparting knowledge. It has certain advantages which make it unique:

 In-Person Learning: allows faculty and students to interact and build a rapport
 Social Skills: encourages social interaction and inculcates social acceptance
 Values and Discipline: ensures moral development of learners
 Competition: encourages a higher level of competitiveness among students
 Extra-curricular activities: offers some school experiences students would not gain in
any other place

Dominica State College looks forward to resuming face-face-learning this week and thanks students and other stakeholders for their patience and continued support during their renovation period.
